Can the 2 in 1 food saver machine be used to suck the air out of these bags??

Answer: I do not think so , these bags where you see the round blue circle is where the air is vacuumed out with a device that is hand held specifically over the blue circle.the food saver works a different process. I hope that helps.

Answer: I dont know. I use warm soapy water and rinse well. then dry inside and out. Love them.

Answer: When you need to clean the dehumidification port, you only need to unscrew the dehumidification port to quickly clean it and maintain the sanitation of the electric pump

How long do the containers hold a vacuum?

Answer: A long time. In the freezer, 3-6 months.

How long do the bags keep their seal in the freezer? My Foodsaver bags tend to leak after a couple months.

Answer: My bags were fine the first time I used them, but probably not more than 6-8 weeks before I washed and reused the. Then they did not seal properly. I got a replacement set and they did the same thing. The pump is fine but in my opinion the bags are not a good buy at all because they do nor seal after the first use.

Answer: I just got mine and sealed some cheese and meat in the freezer. So far very pleased..

Answer: I just bought this unit and used it a few times first thing i noticed was that u must make sure there is no liquid in the bag at all or you mess it all up then even u follow that still not so easy to line up the machine to the hole and start the process it will take you some practice to learn it and still at the end the vacum is not even that strong and only also last at most a week i think i would not have bought it if i knew this .i do not really like it

Answer: It would depend on if u are freezing or refrigerating I would assume. I am freezing items, putting in cooler with ice and bringing it camping. I’m also using the food within a week and haven’t had an issue. Hope that helps.

Is this vacuum sealer also compatible with vacuum containers?

Answer: No, just the bags. While effective to create a vaccine for the bags, the size/volume of a container would be more than the unit could handle.

Answer: Not sure. I also purchased a similar inexpenxive unit with a similar vacuuming unit. this unit vacuumed air out of VMSTR bags but the seal I guess) did not make a solid connection (I guess) and the bag was deflated after a very few hours

Answer: It can, but I have had a hard time managing this device. FINALLY I found that if you put the bag flat on the surface, seal the bag, (that should keep the powder contained), then, keeping the bag flat, use the little vacuum.

Is it supposed to make a rattle sound when you shake it?

Answer: No. It doesn’t make any noise. I just shook it.

Are these microwave safe?

Answer: I don't think so. The description says the bags are good up to 190 F. Microwave temps would be way beyond that.

Answer: I prefer no microwave. Because most of the time you warm any food inside plastic containers. The plastic will melt into your food and your containers will be ruining. If you want save food and stay healthy, I prefer you to remove items from containers, put inside bowl or plate to warm it up in microwave when you at work. The best is re-cook in the pot when you at home. Hope it is help. Stay happy and healthy.

Answer: You cannot use the vacuum machine with liquid foods. You can only freeze solid foods.

I marinate my meat in the bag. when i suck the air out it seeps back in. what do i do? also, how do you clean the bags?

Answer: Probably you are sucking up the marinade into the machine and not getting a complete vacuum in the bag. It works best with non liquid items.

Answer: I've never had that problem. I just wash with warm soap water and air dry.

What is the best way to thoroughly clean the bags since they aren't ddishwasher compatible?

Answer: Soap is a disinfectant, so soap and water, rinse well. I put mine over a clean empty glass jar (keeps it open to air) to dry.

Answer: It depends on what you are putting in them. I haven't used them for meat products. I'd be comfortable washing them with Dawn and hot water and drying the inside with a paper towel. If I was putting meat in them I'd probably turn them inside out.

Answer: Like you would any normal zip lock bag. It’s just a much stronger seal.

How many times can the bags be reused if i only use them for food storage and not for sous vide?

Answer: I have reused the bags as many as 3-4 times. It really depends on what you are putting into the bags. The vacuum makes sharp edges dig into the plastic bags so smoother food products will make the bags last longer.

Answer: I don’t know exactly how many times, but I have used one bag 5 times to store cheese after cleaning it out and putting a new block Of cheese in. I would say I have at least 5 more uses if not more.

Answer: As far as I can tell, this is a pretty universal sealer, so you should be able to get larger bags that would fit. However, I would recommend a dedicated vacuum sealer with a roll of bags like the one from Nesco. I have both. I use this little one for sandwiches and avocados (the best thing for avocados), and the big one for freezing and resealing other plastic bags, like chip or pasta bags.

I am loving this thing. I order pizza about once a week and share it with my roommates. Unfortunately for Pizza it doesn't store for crap in the fridge and is usually not all that delicious after 2 days. I have been sealing the left overs using this device and the pizza still tastes great and fresh after a full week in the fridge!!! Same has been true for many other products such as potato wedges, Cheese bread, salads, etc. The only downside is cleaning the bags. I love that they are cleanable but cleaning corners is a real nightmare. I wish someone would design a bag with a rounded bottom to make it easier to clean. Either way I am loving this product!

Product has saved me a ton of money by being able to save leftovers or split up large purchases and know that they will stay fresh. While they keep your food frozen without any freezer burn they are just as useful in the refrigerator and can prolong produce by more then a week. I included a suggestion to make the product even better in my opinion. Freezing items like basil, small appetizers or petit fours or any item you don't want flattened just can't be done in the reusable bag. The vacuum pressure will squish most things. The three versions above, One that can be put into our existing bags and the other two in place of the bags. Hope you will consider it. Thanks for a great product.

PH 414 : Power in a Small package

Got this mainly for leftover Turkey and Ham from Thanksgiving so it would last till Christmas. I wasn't sure the power would be there in a small product the could be slipped into a kitchen drawer but this thing makes short work of every bag full of food. The beauty of it is that it doesn't take up counter space, and no setup time makes it more likely to be used more often.

Overall worked as advertised for about 1.5 months then just stopped working. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because for those 45 or so days it worked alright. At first, I was skeptical about ordering this item, but found that it works very well. It did take some time to figure a good position for the bags to be able to connect with the vacuum. After placing the item in the bag and sealed, I found that laying the bag flat on the counter, then place the handheld vacuum over the hole, works every time. I do like this item, and plan to order some larger bags.
