Answer: That's what the clips are for. Sous Vide cooking is cooking food placed in a plastic bag suspended in water. The clips hold the bags in place on the edge of the container.
Answer: There are to clip the sides of the bag to some container so water doesn’t get inside the bag when you warming something. I haven’t used that ‘feature’ yet.

Answer: It helps to use the little white clips to help slide the seals closed. And if that fails, return them. It's always possible you got a bad batch of bags.

Answer: No. They do not have pleats at the bottom. But neither do FoodSaver bags, of course. (Good idea though..!!) If you don't need the vacuum capability and only looking to use with sous vide cooking, you can use regular, large Ziplock bags which do have pleats. Don't seal the zip all the way until submerging into the water which will force most all the air out, then zip the top closed. Works fine for Sous Vide cooking.

Answer: Sometimes when I need to charge the vacuum it doesn't have enough suction, or I initially leave to much air in before I start. Make sure your bag is sealed use the little white sealer not just your fingers.

Ive changed my opinion. I cant recharge it because the insides has shifted just enough so the charger cant be inserted far enough to recharge. I will hope to receive a replacement. Until then i cannot recommend this product as i see from other posts it is a common problem with this unit.
I have a little problem sealing the bags before removing the air but that is because I have very bad arthritis. I found that the wooden handle on my spatulas does a fine job of helping. I'm mostly using the bags for seasonal things like fresh strawberries (that I freeze on cookie sheets first), nuts, whole grains, anything that can become rancid quickly, and leftovers. The suction is not as strong as my bigger machine but it is more than adequate for the small daily jobs. And it is easier to store in the kitchen so my big machine can stay in the pantry until I have bigger jobs to do.

Due to limited space, I decided on these bags instead of getting a vacuum food sealer and I’m so glad I did! The bags are durable, seal nicely, and the rechargeable vacuum sealer that comes with it does it’s job. I like it that these bags are reusable. I have only used 3 bags so far to seal and store leftover turkey. I will update on how these bags hold up in the freezer and the freshness of the food once thawed.

I tried washing these bags by hand but there's always some particles or grease left behind in the bag. One side is textured to allow all the air to be sucked out but that makes cleaning them near impossible. You'd be far better off treating these as single use bags. Vacuum pump worked well!

I'm new to Sous Vide, and had concerns about using the disposable plastic bags or vacuum packs, so I was pleased to find these. I like having several sizes and am happy they are reusable (greener!). They seal very easily. Having them reusable/sealable is especially good for a newby like me. I forgot to place the herbs in something I was making the other day. Rather than opening and trashing a disposable bag, I just opened this up, added the herbs, resealed and started cooking. When I'm finished, I fill them with hot soapy water and let them sit for awhile which makes them easy to clean.

but there is a defect in the charging cord. The charger is
ill fitted for the device. After plugging in the charger a few times the charger grabs hold of the inside of the device. When this happens the charger is no longer useful.

I did return the device. I received a new one. I am not sure if it will last because the fit for the charger plug is not right. I am debating if I will send the second one back.

Pump wasn't working when I tried to seal a bag. Went to charge it and the charging light turned on. After a couple hours, I try using it again. Nothing. Overall I like this product and think it's effective but I wish there was a way to diagnose what's going on with the pump.

Somebody from this item send their concerns so Iam giving my report. I decided from my end to buy a manual pump that comes with more bags...... so let’s see if I improved the suction. Bye the way I did first coking with my new Anova......I LOVE IT. I finished it in my bbq plancha. IT WAS PERFECT. THINKING IT IS GOING TO HELP ME WITH MY DIET

The product has a problem with the charging port. The 1st one I ordered I was only able to charge once. The second time the port would no longer accept the input. I returned it and was very pleased with the quick replacement. I used the product for2 or 3 months and liked the way it worked. Very happy. Then on the 5th or 6th charge, the port would not accept the input again. Understand that I was specifically gentle and careful trying to insert it. It disappeared inside the unit body. Gone. I tried to reach the company thru Amazon and was told 90 day guarantee was expired. No further communications with the company or Amazon was acknowledged Very disappointing. So While I liked the performance of the product, I am not prepared to buy one every 3 months. Shame on both companies. John A
Amazon Customer : The Smartest Purchase I Made Ever!
Took a few minutes to figure it out but this item works perfectly. The key is to make sure the bag is tightly closed. The suction is perfect and I can say with certainty after almost a week a head of lettuce is as fresh today as the day I purchased. This will return the cost in a month and will save me a ton of money over the year. When the unit dies I'll buy it again and highly recommend to anyone. By the way the bags work great and keep their seal.

Hi, I bought this kit after seeing a similar kit in a friends kitchen. The kit arrived a week before expected date. The bags are being used for food storage in the freezer. Have not used them for cooking The small pump has really good suction and is easy to use with the supplied bags that have the small valve built in. The big bonus is obviously in keeping food fresh but also helps provide more room in our freezer with less excess air as in previously used freezer bags with ties. Very pleased.

Also, they didn't even spell the word "seal" correctly. Also, I don't know what Strong Pre-Made Meals are, but the instructions say these are great for them.
What I do like about this set is that comes with extra vacuum seal stickers. I haven't tried the attachment for liquids but it looks like a brilliant idea for keeping the liquids out of the vacuum while using it. I actually got this for the large bags so I can vacuum seal my rolls of filament.

I'm very pleased with these bags (after only a few weeks) and the vacuum thus far. I believe it's going to save me a lot of money for helping food last longer, and staying fresh. The vacuum is easy to use but I have to make sure the bag is sealed securely and sometimes the vacuum may need adjusted over the valve.
I hope they last, and come in a smaller size (like a pint). The quart size are great but I like to freeze cut up vegetables and smaller would be better.

Hunting Gear Products : works great but...
While I really like having a vacuum sealer that is portable and does a great job. What it did to disclose is the difficulty of cleaning the bags once you have stored meat in them. I use dish soap, ran them in the dishwasher and also ran them through the washing machine to get the smell and residue of the meat product out. I even tried bleach to get the smell out after using the bags and of course, running them in the sous vide. It's a great concept, going forward I will be using a vacuum sealer machine which will cost less out of pocket than these bags, and no clean up needed.

Love this hand held vacuum sealer does a great job sealing. The sealed bags have held up in the freezer for many days. I have a big vacuum sealer that is easy to use but it is so big it's not handy to use. It came with so many different size bags, I feel I will not need to reorder the bags for years. I've only had this product for a week so I can't speak to it's durability ,yet. The delivery was quick and the price was very reasonable. I am very happy with this purchase.

I liked this product but the suction is barely there anymore and of course it happens right when my return window has passed. Had high hopes for this product but the quality of the vacuum is cheap O- weep O. Would not purchase again especially since I’ve only had it for a month or so and used it probably a total of 5 times only.

Did not come with a charging cord. So I used another that fit. The next morning the charging port had fallen inside the machine making it useless. But worked well when it worked.

It worked fine for the time I used it. The suction was ok even tho it does take a while. I used it a total of four times when I purchase meats in quantity to freeze. The next time I tried to use it, it did not work after a full charge. I wonder if this is common should last longer than six month and with little use.

It's still early since my purchase of this kit. I have a mixed use for these. My primary use is for storing 3D printer filament. The largest bags fit full diameter reels and the next size down bags will fit half diameter sized reels of filament. Not sure if I will use the rest of the bags for food or just random storage.

MTB : Needs more sucking power.
I gave a 5 star to bags,they are great. Buut,the vacumn pump is a little weak. Also you have to play around with(too much IMO),to get it to suck,(that sucks),once you find the sweet spot, it does a good job sealing. I don't really see much advantage of the portability over the regular seal a meal. But the bags are great. ! MATT

This thing is amazing! Reusable bags are a Hugh Plus! Works better than I expected. I am no longer loosing food! Put cut avacados in a bag and 3 days later they were just as fresh as the day i cut them! They didn't get riper or mushy, the color was still perfect and they tasted amazing! If you are an avacado eater you know how quickly those go bad! Everything I've sealed from fruits to cheeses to meats in the freezer are maintaining their freshness way longer than just bagging them. And unlike sealing machines you can open these and take out part of what you've saved and seal it right back up! Hiw cool is that!! In case you didn't already know, I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!

I wanted this vacuum sealer to seal and keep dehydrated foods (nothing sharp) for longer storage. I had a hard time getting the bag to seal at first, but then finally got it to work. Great...but then hours later, the bag was unsealed. I have not tried any others to date, but will try something else to see how that works. I like the fact the sealer can be charged by a usb cord and not batteries. It’s easy to use and small enough to store anywhere. If I find it works better with some other foods, I will update my review.

I wanted to love these. The first two sous vide meals were great, the bags kept suction throughout the cooking process of steak and chicken The next three weren’t - same foods, dangerous results.
The most recent experiences involved bags of different sizes all lost suction at some point during the cooking process resulting in food that smelled foul and likely would have resulted in food poisoning.
If the loss of suction only happened once (or even twice) I would accept that I did something wrong.., but multiple dinners ruined isn’t my jam and I deeply regret not overlooking the negative reviews.

First one didn't work but they sent new one very fast. This one works great. Cheaper than zip lock bags and great that are reusable.
Update 4-1-21- I was using it for chicken & the first bag started to suck up liquid. I thought I had dried the chicken but not good enough. I froze the chicken on a jelly roll pan lined with saran. The next day the bags sealed with no problem.

I was hoping to contact the seller directly before leaving a negative review, but that wasn't an option. So here we go: I sous vide and freeze stuff ALL THE TIME! It's been a game changer in the way I run my personal kitchen. I feel in love with the technique of sous vide in a white linen upscale restaurant I apprenticed for years ago. As a private, personal chef, it makes cooking for a large crowd very easy to make things a precise temperature. My ONLY major complaint about this product is that my rechargeable vacuum sealer failed after a couple months. That's pretty crucial to this system. You can try to get as much air out as possible by hand, but there's no way to get it air tight without the vacuum. The light goes from red to green as though it has fully charged, but when I go to use it, it doesn't work at all. For that reason, and that reason alone, I can't give this a high rating. If the seller replaces the unit, I will let you know and revise my review/ rating.

I'd recommend if your going to get a bag set like this rather than an actual vacuum sealer to stick with a product that uses a hand pump over an electric one. As soon as the pump dies your just left with a bunch of ziplock bags.

Deborah Dixon : A greener option to disposable sous vide bags.
I'm new to Sous Vide, and had concerns about using the disposable plastic bags or vacuum packs, so I was pleased to find these. I like having several sizes and am happy they are reusable (greener!). They seal very easily. Having them reusable/sealable is especially good for a newby like me. I forgot to place the herbs in something I was making the other day. Rather than opening and trashing a disposable bag, I just opened this up, added the herbs, resealed and started cooking. When I'm finished, I fill them with hot soapy water and let them sit for awhile which makes them easy to clean.

I bought this product December 2020 and used it probably less than 20 times. The food didn’t stay fresh when frozen for longer than 3 months. Also, the part where the charger is inserted broke off so I can’t charge the device and now I just have the bag. The quality is low but I’m assuming it comes with paying a low price. It was ok while it lasted. It wasn’t always easy to suction the air out of the bags.

Trying to get the smell out of a bag of even frozen greens is impossible, yet alone the work it takes after meat was stored in the bag or you use it for sous vide... Each bag is one use.

The part where you put the plug in adaptor into the device broke within minutes of use---charged, removed charger, and the piece where it attaches disappeared somewhere into the device. The device failed to remove any air besides. Would ask for a replacement, but, it didn't work before the piece broke off, so what's the point?

Bags seem durable and would have probably been great for what I needed but the vacuum did not work. I plugged it in thinking it needed to be charged first, but the red indicator light never came on. Tried a different cable in the same outlet that I know was charging another device and nothing. Left it plugged in thinking MAYBE it needed time before there was enough charge to light up but after being plugged in overnight (8+h) still nothing.
