These do not seal well

They are very narrow. Inserting food into the bags is a challenge. I'm not sure if it is the bag or my food sealer, but not all of the air is removed. I think it has to do with the narrowness of the bag. Meat, particularly, will prevent the air from being pulled out of the corners.

I have been using VacYaYa bags and they work very well but thought I would try another brand just for fun. These are not fun. They do not seal as well and the tear notches are well above the bottom of the bag so you have to squeeze the contents up 2-3 inches to the notches in order to tear the bags. I now need to use scissors to open them. Will not buy again.

So, long story short... These bags are okay. Not great. Seem to seal properly. You must careful not to soil the area that will be heated and subsequently sealed. If you get a little food in the seal area, just wipe it with a clean paper towel and you should be fine. To date, I have used about 20 bags and have had no failures. The only problem I have had is with the thinner smooth side. This smooth side is slightly thinner than the thicker textured side. Because of this slight difference in thickness, the bags have tended to crease on the thin side, when inserted into my machine. I discovered that this can be completely resolved if I insert the bags into my machine, thin side (smooth side) down. One last thing, make sure you pat meat, or whatever, with dry clean paper towels to remove any excess moisture, as this can impede proper sealing. Sorry about running on... Just felt it necessary to share what I have learned about this product.
In the photo, I show a new and unused bag. If you inspect this image, you will notice that the upper edge, of the open bag, curls inward. This inward curl causes the wrinkle during insertion and sealing, causing a potential failure to seal. As previously stated, this can be avoided by inserting the bag thin smooth side down.
