Does this item cut

Answer: No. It just melts the two plastic halves together.

Would this material be too thin? heat shrink film wraps are made of poly (pof)

Answer: The Heat Sealer Impulse Bag Sealer works very well for me. I use 1.5 mil. poly bags but it would work with thicker poly. The Sealer is not made of metal and probably will not hold up to rough abuse. We take care of our machines by not being rough. I have bought 4 machines total. I have had to replace One machine because it stopped working after about Two years of service. Hope this helps.

This sealer was priced right and arrived quickly. My old heavy duty industrial quality heat sealer finally died on me after many years of use and so I took a chance and bought this one. I was able to seal 52, 4 inch bags (I sealed 2 bags at a time) with absolutely problems. I actually prefer this sealer over my old sealer because it’s not as heavy and it actually seals much nicer than my old one. So far this sealer gets 5 stars, I’m very happy with it. It’s sturdy enough for the price. It’s not heavy duty, but you’re not paying the heavy duty price either. It’s a great value for what you get.
