Does this blower bolt to fire box or is it magnetic? Also, what is the diameter of pipe at fire box? Thanks

Answer: There is a hook that you will need to install on the firebox to keep the blower secure. There are also magnets, but once the grill gets hot the magnets tend to not hold anymore. I believe it is a 3” diameter for the part that is up against you pit, but it might be 4”.

For reference, I have a Char-Broil American Gourmet off-set (what is called a "COS" or "Cheap Offset Smoker).

I am editing my original response because the company has replaced my original blower and so I need to update my thoughts....however, I am still keeping this at 4 out of 5 stars.

The company has made some changes to the design so the "melting" of the plastic has stopped...but for some reason the thermometer still does not want to work properly. The idea is that you can set this to a specific temp and the blower will take the temperature and thus regulate the fan to push more air in (if it's not up to temp) or back off (and even stop) if it's above it. Again, I just haven't had any luck with that function - but I haven't given up on it yet. Regardless, the thing works like a champ and so I've set it simply to blow air (constant) and it does just that.

Things to note - there STILL can be an issue with heat in your firebox with this bad-boy and so while they've added a heat-shield you can STILL melt your housing unit on the front if you are not careful. So what I've learned is that you need to push your coals or wood to the FAR SIDE of the box (furthest away from the fan).

This bbq blower was the best purchase I've made all year. The meat is so tender and juicy, and cooking time and effectiveness was even better than I expected! The controls are easy to use and I'm looking forward to using it for many years to come!
