This hexagon smoker tube works better and is sturdier than a square style one I have been using. I like the included hooks, you can suspend the smoker right below either your heavy grates or from the upper rack if you have one. Once you get it lit and burning good smoke billows out from it. It is well made and comes with a decent stiff bottle brush to clean it. Good price too, less than many similar ones out there. As always, I update if something occurs to want to drop off stars. This was an easy item to use. Filled it with cherry wood pieces to put in the smoker! Gave a GREAT flavor to the pork that my husband smoked! A must have for the "smoker" in your life!

The theory here is super simple -- toss some pellets into the tube, light them and walk away after the flame goes out. I don't get continuous burning when I do that, though. It doesn't appear to be a design flaw of the tube, as it has proper ventilation across the whole surface with evenly spaced holes everywhere, so again, probably user error or sub-standard pellets.
One thing I don't get is the 'S' hooks. With the way the holes are spaced, there is no way to get the hook into a consistent set of holes all the way through so it can be held by them evenly and not have things tipped. I abandoned trying to put them on and have just set it on the top rack of my smoker instead.
I'm going to get some new pellets and try again. The theory here is sound, but execution needs a bit of help.

Val : Turned my gas grill into a smoker for pennies.
I purchased this to smoke our Thanksgiving turkey in the gas grill. It was super easy and the turkey was delicious. I filled it up with Cameron's Wood Pellets (Made a blend of Cherry/Apple/Hickory woods) Then used a blow torch to torch the wood pellets for about 30 seconds on one end and put it on the grill grates on one side. It lasted about 4 hours with the grill maintained at 250F degrees. The turkey was so flavorful and probably my favorite to date. Next up. Brisket!
