how long Veggies & fruit last in bags in Frig ?

Answer: Most people vacuum seal vegetables in preparation for freezing them, rather than storing them fresh. To do so, most veggies need to be blanched first, and a few are actually dangerous to vacuum seal at all (mushrooms). I do see references online to vacuum sealing fresh veggies for refrigeration, with estimates of 1-3 weeks shelf time, but many veggies would be too fragile to seal whole and would need to be cut up first. Given the price of bags, not sure how cost effective it would be to seal, say, a head of celery, since you'd have to cut the bag open to get one or two stalks out.

Answer: We froze peaches from last year and used them with this year’s crop to make peach jam. The jam turned out great. Also we buy meat products when on sale and vacuum seal it for up to 6 months. These bags are a great value. Also we freeze leftover chili/soup by putting in sandwich bags then vacuum sealed.

Answer: I didn't buy it for the refrigerator, I bought it for the freezer.

Will these work with any food sealer?

Answer: As lo g as they will fit. They are a bit longer and the rolls have more so at first the lid didn't close till I used a bit of them

Is the outside width of the roll really 11"? I have purchased another brand advertised as 11" but they are 11.6" edge to and do not fit my Food Saver

Others had stated the width of these was a problem. I had no issue with that using my machine. However, the rolls themselves are too large (in girth) to fit into my machine's compartment so until I use a good portion of each roll (maybe 1/3?) I'll have to cut them by hand outside the machine to make the individual bags. Still, great value for the number of bags I'm going to get out of this package deal!
