I ordered this after being very disappointed with two earlier purchases from different buyers. And am very happy with my purchase. Have now used it a few times for dry goods ( haven't tried wet yet) and it is very efficient, taking out every scrap of air before sealing automatically. Instructions are clear and it's easy to use. It also comes with an attachment to enable vacuum packing canisters but this is something I shall have to find out more about. The bags that come with it are robust, just as you want them. I look forward to many happy years of use.

This is my first vacuum sealer, so I don't have any comparative experience to share about other models, but I really love this unit. It has a smaller footprint than others I looked at on the marketplace, and I appreciate that, as counter space is at a premium in my prep area. There was a small learning curve to using it because it was my first, but the controls are simple, and I had an 'assembly line' of items ready to go and bagged up in minutes. The unit is fairly quiet, and I was able to use it late at night without waking the household. The hinged razor cutter works well, though it does take a little bit of downward pressure to catch the slider onto the edge of the bags, so that they cut without slipping. I'm only mentioning that because it wasn't that clear in the manual, and it took me a minute to figure out on my own. The heat-sealing bar works very well, and the vacuum pump does a great job. The cord detaches for easier storage, and the whole thing goes neatly in its box for dust-free storage. The two side locking buttons are solid, and the blue displays on the simple control panel are easy to see. I used this for re-packing up portions of breakfast sausages, and it'll save money in the long-run, as I usually end up ditching half-used boxes from the freezer due to frostbite. I also purposely made more than enough side dishes for Thanksgiving, so that I could bag up individual portions of turkey slices, stuffing, candied yams, and gravy. It worked like a charm. Overall, I'm really happy to have this around the home. It's a money-saver, it's easy to use, lightweight, compact, but very efficient and well made.

This is my first food vacuum sealer and I love everything about it. It comes with an assortment of bags that were good to use as I learned the technique. My understanding is that any correctly sized-replacement roll will work, but that I'll need to seal both ends, unlike the bags that came with which were already sealed at one end. It's super simple to use and, most importantly, it does a really good job of sucking out the air and sealing the bagged food for freezer storage. So far it has been used to preserve meat and bakery goods...all successfully. It also comes with an attachment that allows you to remove the air from jars but I'll likely never use that function.

I wasn't sure what to expect, especially from an unfamiliar brand, but this vacuum sealer rocks for this novice. It's amazing.

In this pic, I'ved sealed up two 1-lb. bags of ground beef and four 1/4-lb. bags. Although I bought some rolls of bags, for now I'm using up the old bags with the valve; I just cut off the tops. Not only do these food pouches save me a lot of freezer space, but I'll no longer have to clean up meat juices in the fridge from leaking packages.

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to operate, vacuums and seals quickly, doesn't take much space.

Cons: The buzz it makes while vacuuming and sealing is kinda loud.

Love the sleek design and size of this, it is perfect for any size counter top!
We keep a very large garden throughout the spring and summer and do a lot of hunting through the fall and winter. This is exactly what I was needing to keep my freeze dried and/or dehydrated items stored safely and efficiently.
Additionally, I tried it on some of my husbands fish that he just brought home from a fishing trip and this is going to be the way I store ALL my meat going forward. So much space has been save in my freezer its insane! Can't wait to start going through my fridge :)

Had this for about 4 weeks now and it's already paid for itself, if you're like me and are looking to preserve food for longer, or make your own bags of frozen or prepared veg I wouldn't hesitate to order one, you can thank me later.
My freezer is completely full of the Morrisons wonky veg range (cause it's dirt cheap) that I've diced up myself, price for price you get twice as much for your money, and it's fresher! - I also prepare meals for my grandmother who is 90 and can say for sure that it will eliminate freezer burn, works great on fresh food too. Just make sure that you get the list of veg that you CAN'T vaccum seal and you're set.

This Goscien Vacuum Sealer Machine performs well and will be very useful for many kitchens. Using the ‘dry” option for sealing will create a seal with little air left in the bag. And the bag crinkled around the product sealed in it. Moist and gentle options create seals with more air, and this will be appropriate for breads and other items that would be crushed by “dry.” It’s helpful to have these options to seal food or other items just like you intend.

You can seal any bag you wish without removing any air at all. So, theoretically, you could create a bag by sealing edges of a cut piece from a roll, but this is not easy. I put a piece in the cutting part but was not able to cut it at all. Thus, I conclude that this machine is appropriate for use with bags already created for sales but not so good for rolls of materials.

V. Doss : Affordable and works

For the price it does a great job. First time using one of these and after trial and error I am able to get perfect suction and seal. Key is make sure bag is aligned straight and correctly and it will work great. The cutter on this isn't that great and will probable get a better cutter to cut bags from rolled bags. This vacuum sealer would be better to use with precut ready bags like ones that are included. Overall very satisfied and fills my need.

The backs that came with it were good quality and the tear strips on the side is a bonus. We vacuum packed 40kg of meat and it took just over 30 minutes. Obviously ran out of the bags that came with the vacuum sealer. Used replacement roles that we ordered at the same time. They weren't as good as the bags that came with the machine, but still worked without any issues.

Overall happy with the machine and the results are exactly what we needed and expected.

Prior to using this vacuum sealer, I had never used one before. With that being said, this vacuum sealer was very easy to figure out and use. It's essentially ready to go, right out the box.
It sucked all the air out but it was slower than I had envisioned it would be.
The seal it leaves on the bag is really strong and solid. Only scissors can open it.
It comes with an attachment for different style bags. It easy enough to use but I wasn't able to try it out.

One thing I was worried about was when I try some food with moisture the machine might die because it sucks up water together with air. I can choose a mode specifically to use when I'm trying to seal a bag with we food, so it's nice. Easy to use!

First time using one so nothing to compare but wow! I love it! It doesn't take up space in the kitchen but it has saved us SO much space in the freezer. I'm obessed, I keep finding things to use it on.
It has a blade to cut your bag to size and it quickly removes the air and seals the bag once done. I've had no issues at all and love how small it is! I find it annoying having large clunky things in the kitchen that take up space but rarely get used, and this isn't the case! It's used all the time and has meant we can store a lot more in our small freezer, it's been a life saver and worth every penny!
I honestly can't imagine what a more expensive one could do as this does the job just perfect.

I’ve owned 2 foodsaver machines. Both I paid almost 200 for (each). Looking for a new one, I came across this. For the price , I honestly didn’t think it would be any good. I was so wrong. This machine is as good as the foodsaver. It is east to use. Just push one button and it vacuums and seals. The only reason I gave it 4 star instead of 5 was the cutting mechanism. It kinda sucks. It’s had to get going. Otherwise this machine rocks!

This is a very basic vacuum sealer. It comes with a couple of specially designed sealer bags to get you started but eventually you will want to purchase the rolls which are much more cost effective than the bags.

The unit is easy to use and kind of fun. Basically it works like this:

1. Fill the bag with food.
2. Set the vacuum level. I've only used maximun (dry setting)
3. Put the open end of the bag into sealer and press the vac/seal button.

And that's pretty much it.
The machine will suck all the air out of the bag then seal it. Process takes about 30 seconds. Supposedly your food will keep in the freezer much longer than it would in something like a ziplock or freezer bag.

I'm mainly using it to make boil in the bag meals and so far it's been working great.

Only minor nit pick is the control buttons are touch buttons and sometimes I find them easy to hit inadvertently which will start the vacuum process. Not a big deal but I think mechanical buttons would have been better.

I really love a good seal a mealer. This one is very good. The only problem I have with it is the area where you cut the bag after sealing is harder to use than need be. If it had a lock in place that would make it much easier. Trying to hold it in place and slide the blade across is a bit hard at times. But aside from that it's so easy to use. I sealed pecans and some bags of coconut. Used dry seal for pecans and moist for coconut. It works great.
I do recommend this product to anyone who needs a good seal a meal.

I am happy with this food saver. The machine itself is light weight and seems to have decent suction. I vacuumed some left over turkey and I am happy I don’t see any air pockets. It sealed the bag easily all in one step. It has a removable tray to take out to clean when liquid spills into it, which makes me very happy! It also has a bag cutter built in that may come in handy. I haven’t had one that does that so I’m not use to it yet. It also came with a tube that I haven’t tried yet. All in all this seems like a good food saver.
