Frankly if size is a concern, ribs don't seem like a good option to smoke anyways since any decent amount of ribs (perhaps other than baby backs) will take up a lot the space.

Answer: It's a thin flexible mat with tons of openings⦠If well supported by the rack I don't see why it can't hold up heavier items. Never tried it. One more thing to clean because my guess is it WILL NOT protect the rack it is in contact with from drippings so you will end up cleaning both.
Answer: The material is flexible but if it is laying on a grill or rack, a rack of ribs can lay on it. You would not be able to carry the ribs on it though since it is flexible.
Answer: This is a flexible (like fabric) pad that lays in the smomer on top of the factory rack to keep smaller slices of meat like jerkey from falling through the slots in the factory rack while allowing smoke to flow through. It is not an add on or replacement rack.
Answer: It fits across the entire rack. It reminds me of those silicone baking mats that fit into a baking sheet but a different material. It's used for small items that might fall thru the rungs of the rack, like fish, or vegetables or cheese or nuts. It wouldnt hurt to use it under ribs or roasts, but I put a foil pan on rack below to catch grease, this would prevent the grease from dripping thru so it might cause an uncontrolled mess.

Answer: These mats are about 1/4" mesh so oysters smoked on the half shell won't fall through. Shucked oysters would be held up by the mesh but I'm not sure if they would stick to it or release cleanly. I've used mine to smoke almonds and can fit about 1 lb. per mat.

Answer: Avoid getting water on the inside. Otherwise you have to be really good about drying them without mold growing in there. I just wear them on my hands then wash with dish soap and rinse like I would just wash my hands, works great.

What’s the best way to clean the mat? Bought this for my brother and he’s used it with bacon in his smoker and can’t get it cleaned.
Answer: I use a 4 inch grill scraper that I got at a restaurant supply store. I also line the bottom of the grill with aluminum foil as best I can. When I do bacon candy in the smoker, the drippings build up to a quarter inch that turns into a a greasy jell on the bottom of the smoker. The aluminum foil does a pretty good job catching the drippings so cleaning is not so bad a chore. I go in to clean the bottom in the opening on the front that holds the smoke box for the work chips.
Answer: We would recommend with warm water and mild soap after each use. You may clean with Apple Cider Vinegar.

Answer: Bought these as a gift for our son who loves to smoke and grill meats. He says gloves work okay and are heat resistant due to the silicone. He has no idea up to what temp but a necessity when removing meat from the smoker or pellet grill.
Answer: Yes, they are heat resistant, but not heat proof. Taking the racks and meat off the smoker is no problem, but I would not use them as oven mitts. They are great for pulling apart butts and holding ribs for slicing, but they are not cut proof, so caution should be used when carving. Cleaning with soap and water is a breeze if you clean them while still wearing them.

I am smoking quite a bit of fish regularly, and with regular racks it was a nightmare, I would spray oil, then every hour or 40 minutes open it and lift all pieces with spatula, otherwise the skin would stick so bad, that it will need to be cut off with a knife, or just leave it stuck. Not even saying, that the final product will have cuts on it.
With those things - the fish still sticks a bit, but it takes 5-10 seconds tops of tugging from one or other side to release it. No skin is left on either rack or the mat. It will stick a bit more if you use glaze, but thats what sugar does - it sticks. Still no problem relasing fish, as only the edges will get stuck with glaze.
I put them in water to soak for few hours, and then toss them in a dishwasher, thats all the cleaning necessary for them to come out clean. Overall well worth 30$ spent.

I wanted an easier way to keep my smokers clean from stuck debris . I tried this it worked well for the initial first smoke, but after each use food stuck more and more. I started using non stick spray, soaking it in the sink, I bought dish washing brushes to clean stuck food before I realized what am I doing... this is not a good solution. Does it prevent food from sticking from grates yes. Does it have you clean this mat more instead of your grates, Yes! I tried dishwasher and food still sticks when it its finished . I am using Charcoal smoker and I was primarily using it for pork belly. so your smoker and type of meat may vary.

I have used these in my smoker and in my oven. They work wonderfully and they don't stick! I run them through the dishwasher, because after being in the smoker for many hours, the smell is not coming out with a scrub in the sink. But the dishwasher does the trick. I have used only one of the mats, but I have used it 5 or 6 times and it's still in perfect condition. Haven't even taken the other one out of the packaging yet. Couldn't be happier with this product!

I wouldn't use them as replacements for hot pads getting pans in or out of the smoker/grill/oven, but for moving hot meat around, or shredding pork butts they work great. Just "wash your hands" with them on to clean them and they are perfect again.
I have big bear hands and they fit perfectly for me, so someone that would have a small/medium glove hand might have some issues with the sizing.

I bought this primarily for the rib rack and so glad I did! The rack alone retails at Lowe's for $19.99. Be advised the gloves included are carving gloves and not heat resistent. They will not protect you while pulling hot food out of your smoker. It states this in the description but is easy to miss.

Works well for ground beef jerky and veggies. I have used them about a dozen times so far, they clean up well even when I don’t always clean them right after use.

works perfectly, gloves do excellent dealing with meat heat but would recommend wearing some cotton ones under these if carrying pans more than a few feet. rib racks works perfect and so does veg/fish mat. would buy again over and over

Dev : Clean your Grate or This Mat?
I wanted an easier way to keep my smokers clean from stuck debris . I tried this it worked well for the initial first smoke, but after each use food stuck more and more. I started using non stick spray, soaking it in the sink, I bought dish washing brushes to clean stuck food before I realized what am I doing... this is not a good solution. Does it prevent food from sticking from grates yes. Does it have you clean this mat more instead of your grates, Yes! I tried dishwasher and food still sticks when it its finished . I am using Charcoal smoker and I was primarily using it for pork belly. so your smoker and type of meat may vary.

Kinda crappy they’re so small it actually takes two to fit a full rack in my masterbuilt . It’s not well noted I the description. Build quality is ... meh . I’d just buy some hooks if I had to do it again

I have yet to use the mat, but the gloves and the rack worked great. The gloves are large. Not so large that I can't get a good feel for things though.
