What kind of knott is that at the top and bottom? It is hard to get a good knott in the rope.

Answer: easy to tie knots. I use a figure eight Knot at the top of my crab pot.

Doesn't come attached to the booey... Just litereally a lead core rope and a booey in a net bag. I purchased thinking that it was already factory attached and I would not have to do the work myself. Which isn't all that hard but the reason why I went with this kit was that it was specifically shown as put together!

Rope and booey are consistent quality that you would find at box stores.

The buoy included was not heavy duty enough to handle the 100 ft of leaded line provided. I lost two Kufa crab rings in 65ft and 85ft of water at slack tide. Very displeased with purchase. DO NOT USE included buoy, look at the other reviews of people who have actually used them...

Had a chance to get the gear out in the water. Rope is high quality and sinks properly, yet is surprisingly easy on the hands when pulling traps bare handed. The bobber works great, had no problems in the field.

Matt N : These are great, but add a second buoy.

I fished with one of these last weekend and they work fine. You will need a second buoy when using this or any other leaded line as the line will sink just one buoy. I learned this the hard way and lost two traps. Having a second buoy also makes finding and retrieving them easier especially where I go (Pacific ocean near Golden gate bridge). You really can't beat the price of these anywhere.

I ordered three of these buoy/rope sets to use on a crabbing trip a few weeks ago. None of the three I ordered came with leaded rope, which is a huge setback and safety issue for crabbing in crowded bays. I had to use the rope provided since there was no way to return it and get replacement while camping away from home during the vacation I bought the items for. Be aware you may not get the leaded line as advertised, and plan accordingly.
