Answer: Hello! No, it is for food in non-liquid form
Answer: I've dried caramel syrup (medium consistency) and maraschino syrup (much thinner) on a sheet of parchment paper cut to fit the tray. They both worked, although the thinner syrup took a VERY long time, and both remain slightly tacky. You could not dry something as fluid as milk to make your own powdered milk, for example. But if you're thinking of something like marinade on beef jerky, yes, that will dry.

Answer: Yes you can spray the trays with non sticking spray, but be sure to add non-flavored cooking spray.
Answer: I suppose you could spray the trays, but then you might have a challenge cleaning them well. I've used the dehydrater for tomatoes, okra, peppers, onions, apples and herbs so far. Nothing has stuck yet: no mess.

Answer: This cannot be fixed. It is a manufacturing fault. I rated my purchase with a 1* rating and complaint. The manufacturer contacted me and offered an immediate replacement or refund. Customer service could not be better or quicker.

I have dehydrated 30 meals for backpacking. Total costs; including food and dehydrator was around $150. If I had bought the meals from the store I would have paid over $300 just for the meals. Plus, I know what is in my meals. Yes, this dehydrator was worth every penny. I highly recommend it.

I looked at a LOT of dehydrators before deciding to go with this (relatively) inexpensive one, figuring I could upgrade later if I chose to. This works fantastically well; I might get a second one rather than buying a more expensive model. The only drawbacks - you can't add extra trays, and I'd like to be able to dry more at a time. The offset to that is, you can run batch after batch after batch without it overheating. When an estimate is given for how much time to allow, it does take up to the longest time and sometimes beyond that BUT I am very thoroughly drying (mostly fruit) for teas, which requires longer-term storage. If you just want snacks that you'll eat fairly quickly, you wouldn't have to dry the food as long. (I dry them until they snap in half, and store in glass jars with moisture absorber packets) I used a tip I saw somewhere else to cut parchment paper to size to use for fruit rollups, that worked very well - also for blueberries, which shrink as they dry and want to fall through the holes in the tray. Another tip (that I have not tried yet) is cutting plastic canvas (think needlepoint or cross-stitch) to size, for herbs and other small items. I've been trying to keep up with fresh fruits on sale so I haven't tried making jerky yet, but I'm confident it will work well for that. Definitely, definitely recommend this dehydrator. Also, it's very quiet and does not put out a lot of heat. I love it!!

I recently purchased theis dehydrator and loved it. We dehydrated a ton of veggies from the garden this summer; it ran for hours. After a month of dehydrating, it started getting an "ER" message that I could not resolve. I loved it so much, I ordered another, and had to stop the shipment of it right away. Such a disappointment because it did a great job when it was working.

This is my first time purchasing and using a dehydrator. A friend recommended this one to me as he has one. As I didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money on one and find out I don’t like it, this was a good investment. I like that it has a temp and timer. It is not noisey at all very quiet. I do wish it had a recipe manual with it. However, going on google you’re able to find out what you need. I do find it takes longer if you follow some of the recipes on line with the temp they say to use. Given it is only 500 watts may be the issue so I’ve learned to just use a higher temp. The ordering time was my only frustration as it took a lot longer than the original date stated. I was very frustrated, however, the seller did offer a refund even if I got the product. I chose to wait and it finally got here. Thought this was a nice gesture from the seller. It seems a lot of people are growing gardens, canning, baking and doing dehydrating. Would recommend given the price and features.

My first dehydrator was similar in design, but had no fan (which makes all the difference). My first one also had no time or temp control. This one does and it makes it so much easier to use. I haven't used it on figs yet or fruit leathers. My old one melted the trays when I made the fig roll-ups. I did make some dried tomatoes and banana chips. Both were pliable because I the timer would shut of the machine and they were not over dried and brittle. The design of the trays is excellent and allows air to blow over each tray evenly.
