Chris : Not great, but they work.

These lures do not run as they should. The hooks are very sharp. The tale spins and throws a lot of water. Unfortunately, they are not weighted correctly and the whole lure spins and twists your line. You must use a swivel if you are going to fish them. So far I have yet to catch a fish on them.

Pros:

Its a cheap crank bait for top water. It will catch fish, we was after largemouth bass. the color scheme is good on them and the hooks are sharp!

Cons:

Will not float. I have two other whopper ploppers I use and will do the job. These you have to crank it fast to plain out after cast. Once on top of the water, you can slow down your crank speed to stay afloat. But, ones you stop, down they go. I may have the problem of not enough gear ratio to utilize it correctly. But, thats my problem. This is the reason it only got 3 stars. I realize its a cheap bait and you get what ya pay for but, in my application, i can make it work. I hope this helps

I definitely got interest from bass on the red and clear one but these break way too easily! I was trying to throw under cement bridge and it took them hitting the bridge once and the tail breaks! So I am down 3 of these lures! Sucks got the interest but couldn't use very much as they were breaking!

I got these not expecting them to be nearly as good as a true whopper popper. If they aren't, then I can't tell. First cast, a strike. Second cast, another strike. Fifth cast, another. They work. They work well. Almost too well. It feels like cheating after working a jerk bait to entice a strike, then just casting this thing and reeling it in and getting hit after hit with no effort at all. The coloring does get nicked off pretty easily from the hooks rattling, but given the cost, it is well worth it. I haven't noticed a decrease in strikes even with the nicks. I tried each of the baits, and they functioned as expected without any noticeable problems and the one I use most has held up nicely in terms of construction after 40+ big strikes.

6 lures for the price of 1 brand name? Heck yeah. Definitely worth it.
Pros: 7 hits, 7 fish brought in. (Only 2 uses so far)
Cons: Body spins if retrieve isn't the exact right speed even with no weeds tangled.
Tail sinks if paused for too long, not sure if brand name lures do this as well tho, overall not a big deal.

This is a total scam. The lures are single piece w/o rotating tail attached to a length -long steel rod, around which the entire lure rotates. Nothing like the original Whopper Plopper! If I could give this product a negative score I would.

For the money, these are a fantastic deal! Are they River2Sea quality? No. But you're getting 6 for the price of ONE Whopper Plopper! The only issue I've had is a couple of the props wanted to slide off the back of the rotating tube and onto the shank of the rear treble hook. When I noticed this. I mixed up some 5 minute epoxy and epoxied all 6 tails so I wouldn't have to deal with it in the future. Dab it on with a toothpick in a couple spots, let it dry and they're as good as new! Given the price, it isn't even worth deducting a star. The hooks are plenty sharp and I never lost a fish once hooked. The only ones I missed were those that completely missed the bait. I fish a lot of riprap and the paint does get a little banged up on the rocks, but holds up better than my Spro and KVD square bill crabkbaits in the same circumstances. I'm pretty impressed with these. All spun freely and have held up to a lot of fish.

Lost my whopper plopper in a tree and needed a replacement. For the price of one I got 6. These are actually pretty nice. It's durable and kicks up a ton of water. Caught two bases this summer so far. Planning to do some more. One problem I see is that the head portion of the lure is in the shape of an oval torpedo. This causes the lure to regularly spin in circles therefore also your line. I ended up using a swivel to prevent that. Otherwise it's definitely an alternative.

I purchased this expecting to catch from fish on this lure, or 6 lures, but when I cast the lure and reeled it in it did not spin but just wobbled back. I tried several times and each with the same reaction. So I don't reccomend this product. I'd get a refund if I could!

Whole lure does not float. Sits straight up and down in the water with the nose barely under the water surface. Which means the retrieve has to be pretty fast. Some spin and make a good plopping sound, others do not. Cheap enough if you want to try this type of lure out for the first time. But at the same time cheaply made so if you already know you like this style I would recommend getting a better brand.
