The Chasebaits MudBug is a life-like crawdad lure made from TPE Ultra-tough material, featuring an anatomically correct body shape and appendages. It is a highly realistic profile with subtle movements, exactly replicating those of a live crawdad. The claws float while at rest to mimic a crawdad or crayfish in a natural defensive position, which infuriates fish into biting. The Chasebaits MudBug comes pre-rigged with a color-coded “egg sack” that cleverly conceals the lead weight to create an even more realistic profile.

The Chasebaits MudBug can be fished in a number of different ways; let it sit on the bottom in a defensive position, allowing the floating claws and vibrating legs to do the work, or slow crawl or twitch it over your favorite structure and its thumping tail will imitate a fleeing crawdad. Either way it is too irresistible for bass and other fish to refuse. Offered in multiple sizes and colors, the Chasebaits MudBug is ready to fish right out of the package.

Answer: Not durable. I bought 2 and they both melted bin the tackle box. I threw one once for a few casts, nothing. Went into tackle box next day, both had melted. All other lures fine. Not durable in the least.

Is there any scent component to it?

Answer: not that i noticed

So how many lures are in one pack? I hope at least 2 or 3 for $14?

Answer: it's only one lure, it's not like your average creature bait where you get a pack of 5 or 8... this is a molded lure. the hook is not removable. think of it as buying a $15 crank bait.

Answer: Only 1 per pack. I know, pricey.

I bought 2 of these. Both melted in tackle box without ever getting into July heat. June wasn’t very hot at all. All other soft plastics were fine, did not melt. Both of these are melted messes and unusable. Fished one once for a few casts, that’s it.
Very disappointing. Put your money elsewhere.

danimal : I prefer the smaller size, much more hookups when smallmouth fishing .

I’ve already caught 15 fish on two trips with this crayfish, it is extremely durable except for the wire weedguard which broke after a couple fish, so I cut it off. Go with the smaller sized craw unless you are targeting only large fish.

Great looking bait, hook is not beefy enough. Seen around a 6-7lbs bass on the bed, pitched in there and she hit it. Snatched back to set the hook, she took off towards deeper water and didn't stop. Got my bait back with a straightened hook, would have been very bad if I was in a tournament at the time.

Linda, Linda, Linda, listen to me. BUY BUY BUY this now. I’m always a bit skeptical about internet impulse buys. But, let me tell you something! Holy smacks do bass like this thing. I fish this creek pretty often, catch 1-2lb bass in it. Nothing major, but 10 or so fish in 2 hours is pretty good. It’s a good fishing spot. Anyway, I decide to test this lure there. And my oh my. Second cast, 4lb bass. I’ve watched too-small-for-it bluegill snip at this thing. Took it to my aunts pond, lots of grasss, decided I troll it just above the weeds, first cast, WHAM! It doesn’t miss. If there is a fish near by big enough to attempt to eat this thing, it is going to eat it. My kids even ripped the tail off and I had to superglue it back on. And even though she isn’t perfect anymore (I’m not great with superglue I guess), they still eat the day lights out of this thing. I love it.

Much bigger than anticipated but is definitely a realistic look & swim. I’ve fished with live crawfish & the look is great. You can’t use it on lighter tackle effectively bc of the weight of the lure. I would recommend medium-heavy to heavy rod bc you can’t achieve the intended movement on anything lighter.
