Q:
Will the bottom rack hold 3 - 10lb pork butts
Answer: Hey thanks for reaching out with your inquiry more than happy to answer your question here. Regarding the bottom rack holding 10 pork butts it really depends. Weight wise there shouldnt be a problem thats fine but depending on how big the pork butts width and height wise they may or may not. If you have any further questions dont hesitate to reach out to us at 1-800-872-3437
Answer: Yes. I usually put my pork butts in aluminum pans to keep the Traeger clean. It will (tightly, with the rims of the pans slightly overlapping) accommodate 3 of the standard 12.75” x 10.375” pans on the bottom rack. The technical specs for the bottom rack are 19 1/2” x 29 5/8”.
Answer: Yes

Q:
Will this hold 2 full briskets?
Answer: I did a 19 pound brisket and I think I might have been able to get a second one of that size on and angle, but it would have been tight. I believe 2 15 pound ones would be easy to fit.
Answer: Absolutely! Traeger Ironwood 885 has 650 sq inches of cooking space. The typical full beef brisket weighs in at 8-12 pounds and is about 12-20 inches long and about 12 inches wide. You'll have plenty of room for two beef briskets, plus more. We hope this information helped.
Answer: I guess the answer is always it depends on the size of the briskets. The Ironwood 885 has 885 sq inches of smoking rack space. distributed in an upper (smaller) and a lower rack (about twice the size of the upper). I have smoked 1 brisket 3 full racks of baby backs and a pork tenderloin all at the same time with room to spare. The only caution I would give is when using both racks your clearance space above the main rack to the smaller rack above is about 4" so plan accordingly.
Answer: Yes, you could definitely fit 2 full briskets on the Ironwood 885.
Q:
Is this the new version with the pellet sensor?
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Can you fit a 20 lb turkey in the Ironwood 885?
Answer: Your total cooking space in Ironwood 885 is 885 SQ. IN. by removing the top grilling rack a 20 LB turkey should have no problem fitting in the ironwood 885
Answer: EASILY
Q:
Do you sell the Timberline 850 on Amazon?
Q:
what steel gauge does this use?
Answer: Don't know the gauge but it's about between 1/16" and 1/8" probably closer to 1/16"
Q:
Does it heat even?
Answer: A fan circulates heat and smoke for even, consistent cooking, and a drip tray keeps flames off your food and prevents flare-ups. It’s all operated by a controller that maintains precise temperature, so you can spend more time with the people who matter most and less time watching the grill.
Answer: Yes..... even up to 500F. You can grill a steak on it and get good grill marks.
Answer: Yes works great
Q:
Is the ironwood version still made in usa, or is it made in china like the rest?
Answer: We manufactured the grills in the company's Oregon facilities until 2010, but started outsourcing due to high demand of our product. We do however still manufacture some of our commercial grills in the USA. We keep a close eye on quality, and hold all of our products to the same high standard, regardless of where the parts were made.
Answer: China
Q:
how long would it take to make kebobs in this?
Answer: I smoked mine for about an hour and a half at 225°F and they came out perfect. They were pork/steak combo with veggies. Use the temp probe if you're unsure.
Answer: It is dependant on the recipe you are following, but a rough estimate would say up to 20 mins.
Answer: The treager grill takes a bit longer however everything comes out very tender and juicy
Q:
does the grill work with Google home as well as Alexa?
Answer: Yes, Traeger WiFIRE Grills have both Alexa and Google Assistant remote control.
Answer: Phone App is how it works
Q:

Answer: No, it is only meant to be used with wood pellets.
Answer: Absolutely not. It's a Pellet Grill so you can only use pellets

Product reviews of Traeger Grills Ironwood 885 Wood Pellet Grill and Smoker with Alexa and WiFIRE Smart Home Technology, Black
Arlin : Best smoker and grill… yelpers!
It’s a terrific smoker (and grill) and would recommend this Traeger to my friends. Whether you are smoking or grilling, the flavor to all foods cook and this Traeger is exceptional. It’s easy to assemble and by purchasing through Amazon it’s delivered to your door step, added value for your money. The wifire was tricky to set up but after you learn how to, it works amazingly.
TheGoodDoctorFaust : Convenience at the cost of flavor.
Convenience at the cost of flavor. Old school offset wood burner taste blows the treager away. Treager is easy, efficient, but the flavor is flat. I’ll keep it for pulled pork, jerky, and chicken. But I’ll never make ribs or brisket on it again (super smoke for 9 hours and the smoke ring was tiny, total cook with butcher paper wrap+ beef tallow was 12.5 hours) I saw my temperature variate 10-15 degrees up from time to time, it quickly went back down. But for a warm sunny day with no wind I was surprised. Great for beginners, but I’m not.
Amazon Customer : Won't power on after assembly.
After spending a couple hours setting up the Traeger and everything looking good, I went to do the recommended seasoning of the grill according to the owners manual. Pressing standby to awake the grill doesn't do a thing. Display will not come on, grill will not power on. I verified it was a good outlet because it was an outlet my TV was plugged into and was working before and after removing it and trying to plug the Traeger into. The extension cord worked with my leafblower so it's not the extension cord. It's just extremely frustrating to have wasted two hours only for them to send a faulty product. Recommended troubleshooting is checking the fuses but I'm no electrician and I'm sure it will just cause further harm to it and end up voiding a return or refund. For such an expensive product with such a "good reputation" it's a real kick in the gut for it to wait for it for a couple weeks set it up in the morning of a beautiful day where you could use it, only to find out that they sent you a faulty product.
Back to charcoal and gas I go I guess, :sigh:

Best grill/smoker I have ever owned!

John Norris : Great Buy
The item arrived earlier than forecast. It was easy to unbox and assemble, based upon clear written instructions and a YouTube video from Traeger. The initial seasoning of the grill worked well. Everything was as expected.

T. Harris : App is good, connecting to wifi can be a problem.
If you are purchasing this for the App or the App is a big part of your decision, think twice. The app is not kept current or compatible with either iOS or Android, nor the modern mesh home WiFi solutions, and the customer support is under-skilled to provide assistance.
Update: 6-24-21 Shortly after I wrote the first review I determined the grill only connects to 2.4 WiFi. If you have a newer mesh type WiFi (which automatically selects 5.0 or 2.4 for you) you must select your guest WiFi which defaults to 2.4 for most makers of mesh WiFi. So I changed it to four stars from three. The App was not my problem once the grill was connected to a 2.4 everything worked like it should. Would have been nice if this requirement was more conspicuous in the documentation, or if the Traeger help line could have told me this during one of my four calls to them. With this knowledge feel good that this will be a great purchase for summertime, it is an excellent smoker, and gills at lower temperatures almost as good as a Kamado-type ceramic cooker, but so much easier to operate.
SYoung : Doesn't do what it is advertised to do
Dislike! Traeger advertised that they have the option of custom steps/timers via the app and they don't. But they won't refund my purchase either. Plus it does create a strong smoke taste and uses a TON of pellets and doesn't maintain heat well.
Amazon Customer : Best Smoker
Best smoker!!
Davo : Love my Traeger
I have the Silverton that replaced a six year old Traeger Century 22. Perfect no fuss briskets, ribs and shoulder roasts every time, holds set temperature +/- 5 degrees. Wife and kids are happy.
DonZurbrick : Holy Grill Batmand
This grill changed my bbq game. It is amazing.
Ruben J Alvarez : Great Grill. Terrible customer service
We love the grill. But unfortunately, the warranty service is not good. I have not been able to get the Traeger to 'boot' for the last two weeks. Calling customer service was very difficult. The first call was disconnected. The second call, the CS rep would not understand the problem and kept suggesting fixes to fix the WiFi when I couldn't even get the Traeger to boot. The third rep was more helpful and ordered a new power cable and power supply. He told me it would arrive in 5 - 7 days. 11 days later I called and was told that the item had not even shipped yet. She said it would ship in the next 2 - 3 days and would then take another 5 days to arrive based on my location. While apologetic, it was obvious they really couldn't care less that our $1200 grill was out of service for 3 weeks.
juan : Great in cold weather
Awesome smoker works great in cold weather
CRH Dallas : Superior Packaging, Design and Assembly Instructions. Good Easy-To-Use Smoker. Not So Good Grill.
My wife and I bought ourselves the Traeger Ironwood 885 for a Christmas present. We will not use it until after Christmas but we have assembled it. The packaging was the best ever for such a product. Easy to unbox, logically laid out and very protective. No damage whatsoever even though there were dents on the outside of the box. Plus the box top was designed to be used as a children's house when turned inside-out. Our granddaughter is very much enjoying it. Assembly instructions were also the best ever. Easy to understand and all parts were clearly identified. The Traeger is large and the instructions say it is a 2 person, 1 sixpack assembly. Nevertheless, I did most of it without any help. It is brilliantly designed for DIY. So even before using the Traeger, my pre-use experience has been superior.
Update: We finally used the Traeger after Christmas. Our grilling activity is primarily on our Weber Genesis II. Superior gas grill in all respects. We seldom do "low & slow" cooking except Sous Vide. But Traeger claimed the new Ironwood 885 sears meats and works well as a grill as well as a smoker. So we decided to give it a try and maybe gift the Weber to other family members. It is easy-to-use and does do a good job as a smoker at temps 165-225. Above 225 the wood pellets vaporize and there is no smoke . (Traeger calls the vapors "blue smoke" to get around this obvious limitation). There is minor wood flavoring from the vapors when used as a grill at the higher temps. But the searing did not meet our requirements. In conclusion, the Traeger Ironwood 885 is a good easy-to-use smoker. But do not expect good grilling results at higher temps. We will keep our Weber as our primary grill and use the Traeger on occasion as a smoker.

Spanker : Great grill!
I ordered this after my electric smoker had an internal grease fire and burned up. Its easy to assemble and quite large so make sure you have room for it. I felt the smaller one would have worked fine but the additional cost for a bigger one was minimal. First, it makes smoked brisket ez. I've done 2 and both were better than most BBQ places I've been to anywhere in the country. The supersmoke option provided a great smokey flavor and ring. The first brisket was into cooking only 6 hrs and it started to rain. I ended up pulling it off, wrapping in paper and finishing in the over. the bark held up, and it was just perfect. As it's actually burning wood instead of smoldering chips, the flavor is so much better. I'm still working out the reverse sear for steaks, chicken, chops. Starting them out at 225 to just under the desired internal temp and then crank the grill up to 475. Last steaks were great this way. Clean up is easy, simply clean the grates, dump the grease bucket, and vacuum up the pellet dust. The wifi app works really nice, so much better than my other bluetooth smoker. They promote not having to deal with propane tanks but when you think about fueling the grill for long cooks, you use up alot of pellets at nearly $20 a bag. I've done the 2 briskets, and 4 other shorter dinner cooks and have gone through just under 3 bags. Not a complaint, just my experience. The preformed foil drip liners are also pricey but you can use regular foil to save money there. If you have the money, enjoy the flavor of wood cooked foods, and a passion for outdoor cooking, just get one. You wont be dissapointed. I'm very happy with th
Edgar Kidd : Great!
This handles cooking In the colder weather so much better than I could have anticipated :-)
CrownKingNothing : Sunny CA, under a roof, $80 Traeger cover, and RUSTED 1 YEAR LATER
Was very happy with this grill. It was a show piece on the patio. Cooked good and looked good. Now, just over a year later it's rusted front and back, and Traeger won't do anything about it. Never had a grease fire and use my other grills for high heat and searing. This is/was my low and slow go to, but unfortunately now I am a lot less likely to show it off. Instead it stays covered, it's dark secrets and ugly blemishes hidden. I certainly don't use it as much, which is a shame for the money they cost.
April Manns : Can’t wait to use this
This is a beautiful grill. We are very excited to start cooking with it. It did have a dent on the back of the grill that appeared to have come from the manufacturer. We haven’t tried it yet but we will update when we do. Hopefully when it was dented, it didn’t effect the computer.
Anna Ausherman : Ahhhh Not what I expected
Bought grill, less than a month paint peeling on inside and the thermocouple (temp regulator) split. Issues after issue. Traeger support had to call 4 times in over three weeks to get a response.
Ronnie H. : Ironwood 885
Couldn’t be any better
Fullerz : Magical
Worth every penny. Only issue I have had was with the meat probe. It malfunctioned after a week, Traeger sent a new one, but I still haven't received it. This was why I purchased through Amazon though, way better response time.
