This gasket is great, the material seems to shred off quite easily but from what I have read that is normal for these smoker gaskets. However, it sticks very well and does not give me any reason to assume it will fall off anytime soon. It looks very clean and you cant tell its on the grill unless you look for it. I was able to put 2 strips side by side on my Weber Smokefire lid, and 1 strip on the front of the lid.

I cant say if this benefits the Smokefire specifically.. but I can tell you that on my initial burn starting up this grill for the first time, there was no smoke coming out of the lid other than the top. (Which is how its supposed to be). There was no smoke leaks coming out of the edges and it held temperature really well. My initial burn in on this was set for 600 degrees for about 45 mins. And it held up through that, so I trust the "safe up to 660 degrees" claim on the box.

So far I have no complaints on this. The plastic film is hard to peel off but thats not worth removing a star for in my opinion. If it falls apart or stops sticking in the near future I will update this review and change my rating.

As many of you know, smokers typically don't have the best seals on the lid or other openings to prevent smoke leakage. After watching several YouTube videos, it was strongly encouraged to add a smoke gasket to my 22" Weber Kettle. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal, but I was surprised how well the gasket sealed.

The installation was simple. I scraped and cleaned any gunk off where the gasket was supposed to go, and then I simply removed the gasket backing and firmly pressed it down all away around the grill. Then I cut the remainder gasket off to make a perfect fit. 17' of this stuff will be enough to reseal about three or four times for my grill. After I finished, I placed the lid back on to create a constant downward pressure to ensure a tight seal.

The next day, I smoked some chicken quarters. I was very impressed with how the lid sealed. NO smoke leaked out of the sides. Do I actually taste a difference? No. I don't think the small amount of smoke leaking from a kettle grill will have any effect on the taste of the meat. However, I can definitely see how the gasket could improve the taste and timing of a slow cook over time. This gasket is cheap and effective- I definitely recommend it for your next cook.

My wife just bought me a new smoker for my birthday and one of the first things that I knew I needed to do was get something to stop the smoke from leaking out during the smoke. I decided to give this a try. This had enough for me to fit around both the grill lid and the firebox lid. After letting it sit for a couple of days, I fired it up and voila...no more smoke leaking out where the gasket was. Works great and seems to be a good quality. This was put on an Oklahoma Joe Highland in case you were wondering. Definitely would recommend it!

I bought this to help seal up some smoke leaks from a new even embers smoker I had bought ..the door was just a curved piece of steel plate that laid on top of the smoker barrel...used as sold the first time and realized I could do better job sealing smoke loss so I bought some lava seal 600 degree sealent and this gasket and went around and sealed all the penetrations around the smoke box and greases drip tube with the sealent and then cleaned the rear of the door with alcohol to remove any grease etc and applied this to the underside of the door so that the weight of the door helps hold the gasket against the smoker barrel ..WORKED GREAT LITTLE IF ANY SMOKE DRIFTS OUT IF YOU TRYING TO SEAL A DOOR OR OTHER OPEN AND CLOSING ITEM THIS STUFF WORKS

We bought a Pit Boss vertical smoker for the 4th. Love it, but it was taking a long time to get to temperature and smoke was leaking out of the sides. Installed the smoker gasket and it gets to temperature almost immediately now and retains the smoke. If you own a smoker you need this product.

It is a felt, caution needs to be used or the adhesive may separate during applications. (Use a razor or sharp scissors to cut.) Now addressing another post! DO NOT APPLY TO BOTH LID AND BARREL ON A TRAEGER GRILL! Only to lid! It is much too thick for both! One side is a perfect seal. Otherwise you have more of a gap. Thus effectively defending the purpose! More later as I use the grill!

I used this to seal up a new DGO1176BDC-D Dyna-Glo smoker I purchased. It did a great job of sealing the doors to keep all the smoke in the smoker.

This seal is awesome! Very easy to install but make sure you completely clean the area you are installing with alcohol. Make sure you know where you want the seal before sitting in place.
