This seal is awesome! Very easy to install but make sure you completely clean the area you are installing with alcohol. Make sure you know where you want the seal before sitting in place. The adhesive is like concrete, where you place it is where it's staying. The perfect fix for my leaking smoker!! AAA++

I got this to seal up the door and the lid on my Weber Smokey Mountain cooker. I had only used my smoker once to cook and noticed a lot of smoke leaking from the side door and the top lid. That means air leak, that means temperature instability. It's kind of an art to learn how to control and maintain temperature on these smokers so I wanted to seal up those gaps.
I received this gasket today, and I am doing a cook right now as I am typing this review. I did not apply it yet to the top lid (because I did not want to wait to get my cook started today - will do it tomorrow), but I did stick it on to the side door. So far, the result from that is great. I am not seeing any smoke leaking from that at all. The felt is plugging up that gap very nicely.
My one wish for this would be to make it easier to peel off the protective white layer from the adhesive side of the felt tape. You'll either have to cut off extra length and use a box cutter or razor to get a perfectly peelable section, or try with fingernails or a sharp edge to get the adhesive side exposed. It leaves a bit of frayed felt at the end. Not a big problem but slightly annoying.
Overall it's a great solution to air leak gaps in smokers and grills.

At first I had a hard time getting the adhesive backing off to get the process started; but with a single edge razor blade I made an" X" at the end of each piece I started after that and it was a breeze to work with and was perfect for the job..!! VERY HAPPY!!!

My wife just bought me a new smoker for my birthday and one of the first things that I knew I needed to do was get something to stop the smoke from leaking out during the smoke. I decided to give this a try. This had enough for me to fit around both the grill lid and the firebox lid. After letting it sit for a couple of days, I fired it up and voila...no more smoke leaking out where the gasket was. Works great and seems to be a good quality. This was put on an Oklahoma Joe Highland in case you were wondering. Definitely would recommend it!

I bought this to help seal up some smoke leaks from a new even embers smoker I had bought ..the door was just a curved piece of steel plate that laid on top of the smoker barrel...used as sold the first time and realized I could do better job sealing smoke loss so I bought some lava seal 600 degree sealent and this gasket and went around and sealed all the penetrations around the smoke box and greases drip tube with the sealent and then cleaned the rear of the door with alcohol to remove any grease etc and applied this to the underside of the door so that the weight of the door helps hold the gasket against the smoker barrel ..WORKED GREAT LITTLE IF ANY SMOKE DRIFTS OUT IF YOU TRYING TO SEAL A DOOR OR OTHER OPEN AND CLOSING ITEM THIS STUFF WORKS

We bought a Pit Boss vertical smoker for the 4th. Love it, but it was taking a long time to get to temperature and smoke was leaking out of the sides. Installed the smoker gasket and it gets to temperature almost immediately now and retains the smoke. If you own a smoker you need this product.
