Answer: only if it has the same one as a Daiwa.

Can anyone verify that the EC5 cable works when you hook the reel up to a battery jump starter? If it works, which portable jump starter did you use?

Answer: Yes they will work, but I use a small 12V 12AH battery, you can get them and a case from Amazon cheaper than you can buy a quality jump start box.

Answer: A jump starter would probably burn up the cable to many amps

Is there a plug available that can be permanently mounted that’s wires to boat batteries?

Answer: It involved some wire stripping and additional wires and heat shrink wraps but I used a quick connector like the one in the link and I created a port in my console. It is easy and convenient.

Answer: Not for sure but you might not want a permanent wire to the batteries because you might have the move the reel to various positions on the boat.

Answer: There are a lot of options. I use a two poll twist loc trolling motor plug.

Answer: This cord appears to have a thicker gauge than the OEM. I have purchased 6+ of these cords.

This is a great replacement for the Daiwa cord. I retrofitted it to work with a Scotty Male plug so I can hook it into my downrigger female socket. I do a lot of deep water ling and halibut fishing and I am hard on my cords.

The cable is a nice gauge and the alligator clips are larger and more heavier sprung than the OEM.

Overall it appears to be a great value. I have yet to use them a full season, so I don't know about durability. But based on what I have experienced I would not hesitate to buy them again.
