Saltwater or freshwater?

Answer: I doubt you want a click pawl for saltwater. Freshwater reel.

Answer: I've only used mine in freshwater but I'd guess it's better suited for for fresh than salt. The main difference being corrosion resistance of the materials. With that said, it is easy to take apart & mechanically simple, so if you cleaned it thoroughly after salt water use it might be ok.

Answer: I have only used this for freshwater. I don’t believe it’s sealed but there’s not much to a click system. I’m sure you’d be fine in salt if you cleaned it up good after each time out

does the reel come pre spooled?

Answer: No, it doesn't. Some places will spool them up for you, but you have to tell them what line you want, what backing you want, right or left hand retrieve, etc. Then you'll pay the 60-100 bucks for the line, possibly get the backing for free (many places do that, if they spool it up for you) and possibly a small spooling charge, although many times, that's free, as well.

First of all, this reel is awesome. Light weight and small compared to other reels on the market. Buyers should know that reel makes loud clicking sound when you reel back your line. A lot of people hate it because of it’s loud clicking noise. Imagine on a quiet section of the river fishing. When you reel your line back, everyone on that section of the river will hear it. It can get a little noisy. But that’s the same reason why I like clicking noise: when I catch something, everyone on that section of the river will hear it. I have this reel on my 2wt and have been for a long time. Hence why I ordered another zero reel, but 4wt this time.

Shipping was fast and packaging was nice and tight. But I had a change of heart and went to 6wt instead of 4wt. Same day when I received this item, I returned it to the seller with shipping label that was provided. Fast forward about 10 days not hearing anything from the seller via email and Amazon, I sent them a message thru Amazon app and I got an automated email stating it takes a few days to process refund once they receive this item. They are in TN and I’m in NC. According to tracking number, sellers received what I sent them only a few days after when I sent this item back, which means they already had this item in their possession for about a week. I sent a message to the seller thru Amazon app and I get another automated email saying it will take them up to 48hrs to respond to my messages. 48hrs go by and nothing. I sent them another message and I get an email saying it will take them up to 48hrs to respond, just like last time. Still nothing. I tried to contact them on multiple occasions and all I get is same automated email saying 48hrs. Amazon eventually opened an investigation thru their A to Z program so that I can get my refund back hopefully soon.

Bottom line: this reel is awesome. I hope they eventually make zero reels for above 4/5wt in the future. I would buy this reel again in a heartbeat. But don’t buy this reel from this seller. If something happens and you decide to change your mind like I did and return this item, I’m sure you’ll be facing the same issue that I’m facing right now. It’s not about how much money this cost, it’s about customer service. I don’t know about you but I would rather spend my money on sellers that takes care of their customers no matter what over this seller who seems like only interested in making money and not care about their customers. Hopefully Amazon can solve this issue soon.
