Does this casting reel have a flipping switch?

Answer: No it does not. It is thought a decent flipping and pitching reel. The drag is very smooth.(7.0:1)

What size is this reel, I'm looking for the 3000 size.

Answer: This is the 3000. The drag is pretty bad on this reel. It is a very good looking reel, at first look it appears to be a Shimano Stradic fj. But thats the only thing this reel has in common with the stradic. I gave away mine, but i guess you get what you pay for.

this is a great reel. it performs way better than the price that i paid. i see it is $57 now and it's worth that. i fish a lot so one thing i am going to do is research on getting new bearings. it casts light lures well and it's really smooth. it is not loud when casting. i did have an issue but was sent a replacement reel at no charge to me by ardent outdoors. i would even compare it to my lews speed spool. (in the same price point of course) i will definitely be purchasing from this company again.

My husband is a supreme fisherman, and it's his best, and most loved hobby, and when I presented him with this Ardent reel he was quite the happy man....and went fishing right after. The reel itself (once he returned four hours later from "testing" it out), was very easy to switch to his current rod, and as he said the reel worked smoothly, with no snagging or difficulty in getting the line on at all. It was firm in his grip, spun with ease, and, again, he was more happy with no snagging or issues with the line coming through.

First let me say that right out of the box this is a spectacular reel. The design, materials, finishes and colors are just beautiful and it feels great in the hand. I just want to mount it on a base and put it on my desk. And play with it. Just play. I digress...

This reel has a near perfect balance between being too light(cheap) and heavy(quality). It has super buttery smooth action. The bail arm is a little more stout than average, which is nice. The drag adjuster works great...very fine control, very linear drag adjustment. The handle is slightly oversize with a very nice rubber cover, feels great. The anti-reverse switch is easy to flip and has a nice satisfying 'click' to it. Overall a great reel, love it!

Mr Lou Claire : A great graphite reel at a really low price.

I can not wait to put this real to use next season. My one son is old enough now to really enjoy fishing so I am putting together 2 poles, both with Ardent reels. This model is a gem. You get tons of features and amazing build quality for a really low price. The reel itself is very light weight. It's frame is made out of graphite and the spool is solid aluminum. Trust me, it is strong. Just by holding it you can tell that it will be able to take a beating. It has a 5.0:1 gear ratio so it is suitable for many types of fishing, 32 inch per handle turn, 5 ball bearings plus infinite anti reverse bearing and a durable multi stack drag system with 13 pounds of maximum drag.

This reel is built quite well with it's graphite body and extra thick bail wire. The action is smooth and the retrieval rate is Fast, but the handle has too much play and wiggle where it connects to the reel. The wiggly handle makes a nice reel feel cheap.
