Does this casting reel have a flipping switch?

Answer: No it does not. It is thought a decent flipping and pitching reel. The drag is very smooth.(7.0:1)

What size is this reel, I'm looking for the 3000 size.

Answer: This is the 3000. The drag is pretty bad on this reel. It is a very good looking reel, at first look it appears to be a Shimano Stradic fj. But thats the only thing this reel has in common with the stradic. I gave away mine, but i guess you get what you pay for.

Muy buen carrete. Lo unico que le impide tener 5 estrellas son detalles en algunos bordes/uniones del cuerpo. No parece ser algún defecto del manejo, sino de la fabricación. Por lo demás, esta excelente.

MJ : NIce Quality Budget Spinning Reel

We like to fish at Lake Gaston in NC and I was very thrilled to get this excellent quality freshwater spinning reel to try out. I prefer spinners myself due to the relative ease of casting, without backlash issues. Not always the easiest to get super accurate casts with, but that's generally not an issue for the type of fishing we do. The build quality and action on this reel is very nice and it has a very attractive white and silver appearance. It uses a lightweight graphite frame which is important to me since I have tendinitis issues in my arms and need to have very light gear. Spool is aluminum so will hold up well. 5 sealed ball bearings gives you super smooth and quiet performance that should hold up well over time. Other features include 5.0:1 gear ratio (one turn of the handle results in 5 turns of the spindle) which is a decent fast retrieve speed. Multi stack drag system with 13 pounds of maximum drag and anti-reverse switch ensures you can handle a wide range of fish with this reel. Testing out the drag settings I was very happy with the consistency and smoothness of its performance. Overall, an excellent spinning reel that I would definitely recommend.

My husband is a supreme fisherman, and it's his best, and most loved hobby, and when I presented him with this Ardent reel he was quite the happy man....and went fishing right after. The reel itself (once he returned four hours later from "testing" it out), was very easy to switch to his current rod, and as he said the reel worked smoothly, with no snagging or difficulty in getting the line on at all. It was firm in his grip, spun with ease, and, again, he was more happy with no snagging or issues with the line coming through.

TQ : Surprisingly solid reel, especially for the price

I'm shocked with the high quality of this reel for the very low price. Out of the box everything is extremely smooth and quiet. The handle turns effortlessly and the bail mechanism feels tight and sturdy. It has a nice, solid weight and a quality feel to it, better than I could have ever hoped for at the price. I can see now how they can offer a 3 year warranty on these with the fit and finish as good as it is. I also bought a 2000 and have been as equally impressed with that. While I haven't been able to give the drag a long, hard workout, it feels like it should perform well. The only thing I don't personally like about it is the lines in the knob, but that's an Ardent thing and not a deal breaker, so other than that, this is a fantastic reel.

I would compare this reel favorably to a Shimano reel of the same class and it's 25% to almost 50% less expensive. It's light yet strong, allows easy and accurate casting, and the graphite frame seems like it will last for many years though I think carbon fiber construction may have been a better choice, and just as light. The 13lb max drag was a bit light for my taste, but that's just a personal preference. Overall I enjoyed using the reel and will include it in my future fishing trips; even though I didn't catch anything the first time I used it.
