Does this casting reel have a flipping switch?

Answer: No it does not. It is thought a decent flipping and pitching reel. The drag is very smooth.(7.0:1)

Answer: This is the 3000. The drag is pretty bad on this reel. It is a very good looking reel, at first look it appears to be a Shimano Stradic fj. But thats the only thing this reel has in common with the stradic. I gave away mine, but i guess you get what you pay for.

this is a great reel. it performs way better than the price that i paid. i see it is $57 now and it's worth that. i fish a lot so one thing i am going to do is research on getting new bearings. it casts light lures well and it's really smooth. it is not loud when casting. i did have an issue but was sent a replacement reel at no charge to me by ardent outdoors. i would even compare it to my lews speed spool. (in the same price point of course) i will definitely be purchasing from this company again.

TQ : Impressive quality for a minimum price

I'm highly impressed with this reel, especially for the price. Quality materials and solid fit and finish. Everything works smoothly and feels decent.

I sent an e-mail to Ardent asking for more details about the Arrow family of reels. They said they're built specifically for Amazon to sell, essentially store brand reels, so they'll never be listed on the Ardent site. Amazon should probably put a little more effort into marketing these reels, because at $35, I don't think there's a better reel on the market at that price point.

MJ : NIce Quality Budget Spinning Reel

We like to fish at Lake Gaston in NC and I was very thrilled to get this excellent quality freshwater spinning reel to try out. I prefer spinners myself due to the relative ease of casting, without backlash issues. Not always the easiest to get super accurate casts with, but that's generally not an issue for the type of fishing we do. The build quality and action on this reel is very nice and it has a very attractive white and silver appearance. It uses a lightweight graphite frame which is important to me since I have tendinitis issues in my arms and need to have very light gear. Spool is aluminum so will hold up well. 5 sealed ball bearings gives you super smooth and quiet performance that should hold up well over time. Other features include 5.0:1 gear ratio (one turn of the handle results in 5 turns of the spindle) which is a decent fast retrieve speed. Multi stack drag system with 13 pounds of maximum drag and anti-reverse switch ensures you can handle a wide range of fish with this reel. Testing out the drag settings I was very happy with the consistency and smoothness of its performance. Overall, an excellent spinning reel that I would definitely recommend.

I can not wait to put this real to use next season. My one son is old enough now to really enjoy fishing so I am putting together 2 poles, both with Ardent reels. This model is a gem. You get tons of features and amazing build quality for a really low price. The reel itself is very light weight. It's frame is made out of graphite and the spool is solid aluminum. Trust me, it is strong. Just by holding it you can tell that it will be able to take a beating. It has a 5.0:1 gear ratio so it is suitable for many types of fishing, 32 inch per handle turn, 5 ball bearings plus infinite anti reverse bearing and a durable multi stack drag system with 13 pounds of maximum drag.

This isn't like an Abu Garcia, but still a decent made baitcaster for the price. The magnetic brake and spool are nice and smooth, but the reel is only available in a right hand model.
