Answer: I actually don't know. I'm guessing about 18 inches at the farthest width. That's a guess though. I was able to scoop a nice sized Northern Pike into it when I was in the Boundary Waters if that helps.

Its pretty awesome and the lip grip is great. The only reason its not a 5 star is the mesh holes are pretty big compares to what ot appears to advertise as. The material is rubberized and makes it a bit sticky to slide i to a bag. Overall its great and very functional.

Its a somewhat decent product the netting its pretty strong but the plastic its on not so much as soon as it was delivered we took it for a spin at our pond outside and we use it for about an hour or so then it just snapped.

I needed something compact I could take with me into the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota and I couldn't have been happier with this net. I was able to pack it and use it to retrieve the Northern Pike we caught.
