UPDATE!!! We caught our first wandering bird (a cardinal), w/our new very durable and sturdy net, and feel so happy to release her safely back into flight so quickly! PREVIOUS POST: So we are in a new house with a screened in porch and tend to get some birds that flew off course. They fly in and can't get out and get exhausted. It was so hard to watch. We had to get a stool, and move it from one place to another for too long. The birds were exhausted and breathing so heavy. Then BAM!!!! I saw this and ordered it right away. The quality is even better than we expected and it's nice and long! We can now reach for the birds when needed so they can continue on their nice bird journey. We were looking for a net with small holes for our kids to use around our pond to catch minnows. I went with a smaller sized net so they could manage them easier but these were smaller than expected. They also aren't the most durable nets in the hands of a 6 year old as my son managed to pull it apart while sliding the extending handle.

This is a fantastic net for catching small critters. My kids and the neighbor kids have been using it to catch frogs and lizards for about a month now. We live in Florida, so they are very prevalent around our houses. Of course they always let them go after catching them. I am hoping to take this net to the local state park to catch sea life, to examine and feel, then let go. We really love this net and highly recommend it.

This has been great so far for “creeking.” My 8-year-old likes to explore nature and try to catch minnows and other creatures in the creek nearby. The telescoping feature for the handle is quite useful. We hope to use it for catch and release fishing with him so look forward to trying it fir that. The flat bottom of the new makes it easier to see critters we catch and to release them back to nature.
