I bought this little dip net to get leaves out of a boat/water garden. It works just fine...probably will work just as well for scooping up fish when the time comes, too. It is lightweight, looks well put together but time will tell if I have any problems with durability.

I have an adult using this net and it has been used carefully and the netting comes off of the pole part very easily. It has only been used twice and is already coming apart. Not very durable.

My 12 yr old son uses this net to catch frogs. He really likes it, especially that is deep enough to keep them from jumping out as easily and strong enough that it doesn’t bend with the weight or strain the net. It is also extremely light. The weave of the net is looser than a fine mesh. Some tiny creatures may be able to fit through it, but my son has easily scooped up tadpoles with no problem. It would be nice if the handle was able to extend to an overall longer length.

UPDATE!!! We caught our first wandering bird (a cardinal), w/our new very durable and sturdy net, and feel so happy to release her safely back into flight so quickly! PREVIOUS POST: So we are in a new house with a screened in porch and tend to get some birds that flew off course. They fly in and can't get out and get exhausted. It was so hard to watch. We had to get a stool, and move it from one place to another for too long. The birds were exhausted and breathing so heavy. Then BAM!!!! I saw this and ordered it right away.
