Can you catch minnows and other smaller bait fish or are the holes too big?

Answer: Measures around 1/4” at widest spacing. Netting is approximately 3/16” squares. Should catch most minnows, I would figure.

Is the handle made of carbon fiber? We have purchased those type before for our 5 years olds and the broke right away.

Answer: The orange handle is made of plastic (feels like hard foam) and I don't believe it would break easily. The telescoping pole is aluminum and is very sturdy. My 8-year-old grandson has been using this fishing net for almost a year and I am very pleased with how well it has held up. Fishing is not permitted in the pond behind my house so he scoops up the fish then releases them.

Very happy with these nets. I started getting two of my grandsons these nets and they loved them-for bugs and at the pond. Then another grandson wanted to know where his net was, so bought one more. Then decided to get two more for upcoming birthday for two more grandsons! They're having so much fun with them and they've held up well with 4 and 5 year olds.

My son wanted a net to catch frogs and turtles at our Cottage so we purchased this after looking at reviews. It is very lightweight which is excellent for a 5 year old.

It worked great for 2 visits to the cottage but the third visit my son went to shorten the net and he noticed he could not push it down easily. The shaft was bench from using it, not in the water but just singing down at frogs (not even catching one). I was able to straighten it but then shortly after the glue came loose holding the net on the shaft. I ended up fixing it using an industrial waterproof adhesive from my work.

I think they need to use a better adhesive when assembling this. We have not had an issue since using the other glue. We are careful with the net knowing the shaft bends easily. I guess that is the trade off for a lightweight aluminum net.

First of all let me tell you that this is not a kids plastic fishing net that you usually see. You know the plastic ones that are usually for kids and small. This fishing net is way better than I expected. It has a metal holder that screws to the net which is easy to store in bucket and it is pretty big to catch a big catfish or trout and it also extends more. I would definitely recommend this not only for kids but for adults as well. It is very sturdy and great quality. The colors are kid friendly but who cares about the color it’s all about the quality and I will be using this instead of my kids ????

This is a very sturdy net that can extend and stay extended. All you have to do is twist. I went fishing with this and the net is very good for getting through weeds and other vegetation to get your fish without getting stuck. This is definitely something that I would recommend.

We would be very happy with this net only if it would turn to open to make it longer. We literally have to get tools out to turn it which is ridiculous. Each time we try to turn it with our hands, the only thing that turns is the net itself and then that comes off. It's a kids fishing net, should be much easier to make it longer. I ordered this net for my grandkids :). I have the Adult PLUSINNO net, which I LOVE so I figured I'd get the kids their own. I like the rainbow coloring so it will appeal to my grandson AND granddaughter (yes... they both fish). The net is a little deeper than I noticed online, so that's a good thing and the mesh is a good quality strand. This net is a 2 piece screw in, meaning you screw the handle on to the net. The handle gets very tight and there is no wobble whatsoever, so the machining is spot on. It's also very light so the kids will be able to use it very easily. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and I'm going to go become their hero right now and give it to them :) Tight Lines!

The parts of this net are very well made. The telescopic feature is very useful for both adults and kids. I used it when catching fish and after my kids got bored fishing with a pole, they went after them their own way. The bright colors make it easy to keep up with. The wrist lanyard ensures it's not accidentally dropped in the water. As you can see in the photos, the net is perfect sized for children to handle and is very lightweight. This has now become one of the items we bring to every fishing trip. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is it takes a moment to get use to where the pole needs to be gripped to loosen up the net to extend and then tighten. I kept grabbing the net instead of the pole which caused me to keep screwing the net off.

Kids love this net to play with at the lake. It has held up very well unlike other nets we have had. I also use it to get fish out of the live well on the boat. Great little net for that as well.

Pretty sturdy and assembles extremely easy. Will come apart for transport or easier storage on a boat. Handle is made from light blue aluminum and the foam grip should be easy to hang on to with wet hands. Net opening is a good size for most fish and should work very well for catching flying bugs like butterflies or even lighting bugs. I was able to scoop up several minnows out of my pond with It and even a couple bluegill. I would definitely recommend this net to anybody that needs a quality net that won’t take up a lot of room at an affordable price. In fact this one, when disassembled fits completely inside my Cabelas tackle bag that I use on the boat. I can see my son using it when he goes fishing with his friends.
