Answer: It stays stationary. This is the case with every Baitcaster or Conventional reel I’ve owned. I could be wrong but I think it’s to minimize friction on the spool during casts.

After several trips, reel seems to perform well for price. Drag doesn't seem to repeat with equal turns of adjustment knob and haven't tested drag rating but seems to offer enough for big cats and musky. Love to see a version 400 size and bait clicker.

I originally ordered a torrent reel last year I wasn’t very good with one but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on one so I went for it. It arrived super quick pulled it out of the box a it was awesome. It has a nice low profile and I matched it with a medium heavy rod. and I’ve been using it Like that reeling in monster bass for a while. I’m not the best when it comes to oiling and cleaning my equipment and have put this reel through hell. I live in one of the hottest places in the USA and have dropped my reels in sand, water, on the concrete and it has sat in 120 degrees. I go fishing constantly and that reel has caught me more fish than any other reel I have. I can count on the fact that that reel will work through the worst situations and will drop my bait right where I want it. But just recently bought 2 piscifun 7’6” heavy fast action rods and a second torrent reel. Now I have been using them religiously and have added the Alijoz to my arsenal it came super fast. I opened the box and pulled it out and this thing is a tank and spins so smoothly. I just put it on one of my fast action rods and went to a local pond after work. Nailed a couple of donkeys it pulled them out of heavy cover with ease. Can’t wait to buy another one

Very, very difficult to tie a fishing knot onto the spool in order to add line to the spool. I had to circumvent the process. You would think, for the cost of $99.00 for this fishing reel that they would have put slotts on the spool to be able to quickly add fishing line onto the reel.. I bought another brand of a baitcaster reel for the cost of $44.00 which provided the slots on the spool, for ease of adding the fishing line.
I have written a email note to the company about this issue . I am awaiting a reply,
I want to see how this reel holds up fishing in salt water!!!
Instruction manual not very detailed. I learned more from YouTube as to opening the the slide plate to see the brakes.

This is my third piscifun reel and the quality is just great!! It’s definitely heavier then my spark pro and phantom x reels but that’s because it’s rated for saltwater fishing. For the price you can’t beat the quality! I can’t wait to take this out on the water!! Piscifun customer service is great btw. I had an issue with my spark pro braking mechanism and they went ahead and replaced it for me free of charge after a tech tried to troubleshoot it.

I bought this reel for snook fishing as a backup to my Calcutta 400B. I have used this reel about 5 times this week and it casts amazing. I had to oil the bearings as soon as I got it because there was some noise but it went away after oiling it and using it a couple times. I always rinse this off after using in saltwater. This reel has a great drag and casts amazing. Not one backlash!! This reel is hard to beat for the price. So far I love it, let’s just see how long it holds up. If it continues to perform this way I will definitely buy another one. Just caught this 40 inch snook on it this weekend and the reel was awesome

Wrong name printed on item company recently changed the name. Its not lubed properly, gears are gritty and spool is machined at bad tolerances. Rushed production mistakes and no quality control.

I've been using the Piscifun Alijoz 300 8.1:1 for inshore saltwater fishing but I will be also using it for freshwater also when needed. It performs really well and is very smooth. 8+1 Shielded ball Bearings and a 36 inch retrieve is nice for getting fish through cover in a hurry.. It casts a mile and the 33lb drag is definitely a bonus. FYI the magnetic breaking system is accessed by turning the head of the pin it does not have a release button. Which is nice so you don't accidentally have it fall off into the water..This reel performs just as well as some of my higher end reels. Just make sure you oil it and give it some minor tlc before you take it out on the water so it will perform as it should. Don't open the box throw it on a rod and go because my reel was not properly lubricated. Based on how well this reel is built I believe with proper maintenance this reel will last for years to come. I highly recommend this reel for its performance and also its affordability.

Reel itself looks solid and well made, BUT always that one! Handle mane shaft has 3mm or 1/8 play on it, between gearbox and drag wheel. Had to retrofit with brass hand made washer. Also gearbox main barrel bearing working one way clockwise only. Other then that pulled 2 16" seabass "double trouble" without no issue. See pics for info.

Very impressed with this reel. I'm someone that stayed away from Piscifun/Kastking products and sruck to the premium brands like Shimano/Daiwa/Abu. I kust say, however, Piscifun drew me in with the specs on paper and how the reel looked. Aluminum framed, large 300 spool, nrass main gear, saltwater rated, among other great features...a bargain for $100. I chose the 8.1:1 gear ratio and it burns those baits back in. I can also really bomb-cast this thing with the right spoon or lure. Overall smooth reeling, perhaps not as smooth or quiet as my Daiwa Coastal 200HSL, but it also cost 2.5x the money as the Alijos. You don't really notice the difference when reeling under load though. The spool release is nice and positive, and the button to disengage the release is also a nice feature. On the big and heavy size, but I can still palm the reel even though I have medium sized hands, if you have large hands it should be even easier. The spool tension knob has great positive clicks as you turn it, the magnetic braking system acrually works very well, you can tell the difference for each setting you go up and down. Very hard to backlash this reel once you have it dialed in for your bait. I almost never have to thumb it and it still casts a country mile when I have the tension and brakes set right. Overall, I LOVE this reel and it has become one of my favorites. It's now my go-to surf baitcastng reel, looks great on a 7' Heavy Action Offshore Angler Ocean Master Rod. Highly recommended!
