Answer: I just bought the 5000 holes 360 yards of line would be perfect

What size reel would recommend using a 12 foot surf casting rod ?

Answer: I have 11-12 foot surf spinning rods with 8000 and 10000 size Penn reels. On a similar length surf casting rod I would use a conventional (multiplier) reel (no line guide/lay) able to hold at least 300 yards of the line I was going to fish with - something like a Penn Fathom size 30 or larger.
