What is the difference in the $39.99 and the $49.99 centerpin reels you list?

Answer: I got the same 41/4" real both times--the price just went up $4 between orders. the difference between the $39 and $49 reels is the spool diameter--one is 41/4', the other is 43/4". I personally don"t know the difference this would make in performance. the 449 reel looks a little different on the front side. I did the ceramic bearing upgrade on the first reel--it spins better; but the original bearings still perform well.

Answer: This is not a reel. It is a spool to hold the line. There is no drag and I don't believe it has any bearings either.

It seems to be a pretty decent real I've got about 10 or 15 hours on it. the clicker switch will not stay off drive me crazy! Other than that very decent reel. After approximately 40 fish the real just fell apart the Reel seat fell off I glued it back on but it won't stay together

I love this reel--I'm new to centerpinning so I can't compare it to the expensive name brands but it sure does the job for me. The stock bearings spin freely and the start up for a drift seems effortless. I saw a video for a bearing upgrade and bought two hybrid ceramic radial bearings. The whole procedure took less than 5 minutes. They cost almost what the reel did but now the spin is truly amazing. The reel has a great finish and appears to be made to precise specs. Like it so much, I ordered another one--the price went up $4.00--still worth it!!!
