What size is recommended for carp fishing?

Answer: I use the 6000 and it works very well for Carp and Catfishing. I have been using since November and fishing every day. No problems. I use 15lb mono. Fish on!!!

I didn't like these reels. I bought 2. More for back up setups. They feel cheap, and are not smooth at all for gulf surf fishing. I will stick with my Penn rod and reel setups for surf fishing. These reels look good and that's about it.

I have to admit that these are very nice reels indeed. Smooth action and an excellent drag system. Easily competes with reels costing 3 or 4 times as much.

I gave it 5 stars after the first use and on my 2nd use its getting a 1 star because it’s almost seized up sadly and I rinse all of my reels thoroughly so maybe it’s not for saltwater .

I was iffy on the first 2 that I bought. The bails would not stay in, but..glued them in and no other problems. I just ordered 4 more and have caught numerous 20+ pound carp with them. Dean Dardzinski : I GOT THE 6000's. I'M GETTING THE 3000's. GREAT REEL

I purchased two of the 6000's because they the bait clicker option. I usually only see that on Baitcast reels. Having that on a Spinning reel is great. I spooled them up the day I got them and took them out the following day. They performed perfectly. They come with an extra spool so you can quickly change your setup for heavier line. I am purchasing two of the X5000-3000 series to use for flipping artificals into the weeds.
