Questions about Fiblink Inline Ice Fishing Reel Right/Left Handed Fishing Raft Wheel Ice Reels
Q:
so it hangs down like a spinning reel so the handle would be on the left side for a right hand reel. Is this correct?.
Answer: No the reel is on the right that's y it's right hand reel
Answer: No right on the right side and left on left side
Q:
The answers below are confusing. So I want the reel to hang down but have the crank on the left side. Which one?
Answer: If you want the crank on the left side buy the left hand reel. It hangs down with handle (crank) on left side.
Q:
Does it have a loud click when reeling?
Answer: No it doesn’t have a loud click when reeling .
Answer: No, not when reeling.
Answer: No, the clicking happens when you are pulling line off. Even then, the click is not loud
Answer: Very quiet.
Q:
Is there a free spool adjustment for the speed of free fall? The knob I think is supposed to do it you can’t turn by hand and have to use a pliers and
Answer: All of these inline reels are the same. By the same I mean they're peices of junk. I've purchased two that were similar to this but the guts are all the same. Save your money and buy a quality spinning reel!
Q:
Is your left handed right hand reel, orientated for a left hand person. or is it left hand reel, as for a righty?
Answer: Left hand as for a righty
Answer: The reel orientation is opposite what your dominant hand is
Answer: U can order either
Answer: Opposite what you normally use and this feel apart first time I used it
Q:
Could this reel be used for fly fishing line ?
Answer: Russ, I am certainly not a "pro anything". But if you want my advice, I would say "no". Most floating fly line is large in diameter and I don't think you can spool enough on the reel for a long cast. If you can't get the release drag to work, (like mine) any fly line you put on would come off way too fast and it would be a mess in no time.
Answer: Don’t think so. Works great for ice fishing with 4lb fishing line
Answer: I think it could, if you had to. It has become one of my favorite ice reels.
Answer: No,ice fishing only
Q:
Is the reel ambidextrous? I can’t seem to find an option for right hand.
Answer: No they are not, they currently only have the left hand reels.
Q:
Based on the picture it does not look like a cnc machined aluminum body. please somebody can confirm that it is indeed a cnc machined aluminum body.
Answer: Regardless of weather or not its cnc machines, these inline reels are basically all the same. You'd be better off buying a quality spinning reel.
Q:
Anti reverse?
Answer: No. But if you have the tension set appropriately you shouldn’t have an issue. I never have. On my 2nd season with mine and I love how smooth the action is
Answer: Yes, and good drag.
Q:
Where is this made
Answer: It doesn’t say anywhere on the box where it’s made or the parts list inside if it was made in the USA it would say made in the USA so I’m assuming it’s made overseas
Q:
how does it cast .. no bail and or buttons on it?
Answer: Ice fishing, it's meant to manually let line out down a hole drilled in the ice, not to cast.
Answer: push the side black button on the side of the reel
Answer: This is a ice fishing reel ,not a casting reel. It does not cast.
Answer: There is a bail.
Q:
does it cast like a spin reel .. or will it get tangled like bait caster
Answer: it does not cast. you have to let the line out by freespooling. when freespooling you must keep tension on the reel with your finger or it will get tangled like a baitcaster.
Answer: No it will not cast like a spinning reel... no reason to cast when ice fishing
Answer: If you don't put enough tension via the magnet on the reel it can get tangled. But as an inline ice fishing reel I don't know anyone that would actually cast this reel.
Answer: It is a spinning reel.
Q:
What pound test line can this reel handle?
Answer: I put 3lb. On. Don't buy this reel it's a piece of junk. The one I bought is going in the garbage !
Product reviews of Fiblink Inline Ice Fishing Reel Right/Left Handed Fishing Raft Wheel Ice Reels
Bryan : Drag system is absolutely terrible..
Seems well built. There are things I like about it at the end of the day u can get by.. it’s a 35 dollar reel ... but drag is almost unusable...
Cass : Don’t buy
Used it once and it started falling apart
Bryan : Drag system is absolutely terrible..

Zachary Stephen Schultz : Tossed it right down the hole!
TERRIBLE drag system! You'll reel to get the fish in and the actual reel don't move and the drag isn't doing anything either, causing the fish to end up with slack line. Feels cheap in your hands, the cork looks nothing like the picture(super fake in person). I had this on my dead stick when fishing Mille Lacs this winter. Lost 3 fish due to this crappy reel and ended up tossing it right down the hole. Was not happy with it! Possibly decent for SMALL pan fishing where drag isn't as important or for a kid.
Amazon Customer : Great reel
I love this reel. I found it fits better on a rod without a built in real seat. A rod you can adjust the reel up and down on the rod handle. That way you can customize it to your grip style. The line release button is a great feature. I plan to order another on
Joshua Lang : Great reel
Awesome reel for the money works great, I love it.
Brian Monahan : Simple, functional, inexpensive
Paired this awesome looking gold reel up with a jig-a-whopper signature series rod to create a classic Chris Craft look. Once user positions and gets the feel for the line tensioner (depending on the weight of the jig/lure), the reel is smooth in operation. Drag works great. Have caught bluegills, crappie, Bass, walleye, and northern pike with it so far.
Jack Ter Haar : Release Drag
I ordered both the reel and rod from Fitbink. The reel came the next day and rod took three days. Of course, I took the reel out of the box and threw the box away. The reel looked good and seemed to work smoothly. When the rod arrived, I assembled the reel to the rod and spooled it with 4lb test line. I then attached a 1/8 ounce jig to the line and went to set the release drag. This is when I found I could not tighten the release drag tight enough to allow the jig to release slowly based on the weight. I should know better to buy something through the internet without actually trying it out in person. Especially something as important as a rod and reel.
Amazon Customer : Great reel. Seems to be a great wuality reel ...
Great reel. Seems to be a great wuality reel for the price. I look
Forward to using it on the ice.
Hodge Podge : Five Stars
Nice reel
Randy Thompsen : Free fall tension adjustment knob doesn't work. But it is easy to control with your hand.
I didn't get a choice of right/left so I assumed it was interchangeable. It isn't and they sent a right without asking. I would have preferred left. But the main problem with mine is the free wheel tension knob doesn't work. It isn't touching the spool at all and results in a tangled mess when even tiny jigs hit bottom. The spool free falls so fast.
After using it on the ice, I want to upgrade my review. The free fall was great in getting back down and I didn't once get a birds nest. I should have sent it back and got a left handed one. But it works good. And is fun to use.
William Kessler : Garbage
Ice fishing
Coipel : Catches Fish
The reel is super light and big enough to use with gloves if needed. The drag system worked real well, only fished Crappie and Bluegills on 2# test. Did manage 2 northern pike jigging for gills and the drag system performed well. I would recommend this reel.
Steven : Good mechanics, plenty of space
I just received this reel and set it up, so I will update after I use it here in about 2 weeks.
All of the parts are nice and tight and it seems well constructed. I wound 75' of 6# monofilament to allow for cutoffs and there is space for at least 200'+ without overfilling the reel. The drag release was very smooth (there should be no problem with free-fall even with minimal weight) and the one-way clutch engaged after about a quarter-turn of the crank.
The inner diameter of the reel measures 1 3/4" (1.75") so at a gear ratio of 2.7:1, we end up with approximately (just shy) 15" of retrieval per 360 degree turn of the crank (notably this changes slightly depending on how full the reel is), meaning for every 12 turns you are putting on just shy of 15' of line.
I can't wait to test this out against my other 2 new Inlines: 13 Fishing Black Betty, and Eagle Claw.

JJ : No spool tensioner
There is no spool tension so its just free spool which is pointless.
michael : I like the reel very big and very nice will look ...
I like the reel very big and very nice will look real good on my fly rod been fishing for over 30 years and this is the best fly real I have ever had will be using it a lot
Aaron R. : Great looking reel
The materials look great, but after exposing it to the ice and snow elements it started squeaking after the first time using it. The brake isn’t working correctly. I’m gonna try to disassemble and re-grease and see if that takes care of it. I’ll give an update if it takes care of it.
Niceguy : Doesn't fit my fishing pole
I bought two of these Fiblink reels for ice fishing, along with two Akataka poles. The mounting foot of the reel is about one half inch too long to fit onto the reel mount on the rod. The foot length is not listed in the description, though it is listed in the pole specs. Emails to Fiblink were answered quickly, but did not help me at all. The reels appear to be well made, but I haven't tried them. Very disappointed. New: Edit to my review. I put 4 lb. test mono on the reel and went fishing. The drag at the lowest setting was not smooth at all. I really have decided these reels are not worth the money at all. They look good, but they are not appropriate for ice fishing for 1-2 lb. fish. The foot length is 2 11/16 inches....far too long for most ice fishing poles. The cork handles are likely to disintegrate faster than composite handles, too.
jimmie robinson : Later
Will rate after I have a chance to use it
Red beard : Very sweet deal!!
Best for the price
MarkM : I bought a 7/8 and found it works better as a 5/6.
These reels are very good for the price. Just be sure to buy one size larger than marked.

Wow..this reel is almost to beautiful to use. But did anyway lol. Very well made to.
Tane : Easy to put line on
My new hard water fishing pole. Took the reel off a tickle stick and it’s a great companion. Taking to Lake of the woods this weekend
