What pound line is on it?

Answer: It doesn't come with line on it, they work very well with 6-10lb test line.

Answer: 8 pound line but I changed to 3.5pound line

This is one good fishing reel! Maybe you have read some of my other reviews and realized by the amount of fishing gear I've bought and reviews that I love fishing and this is what I have to say about this reel. It's great for the price, it's light weight and very smooth action. It is however not for the person who wants to pull out the biggest fish in the lake/river but will get the job done with average size fish and the main use I have for this reel is to teach people how to cast and retrieve and have then learn how to fish because the reel is very simple to use

This is pretty much a kid's reel... The handle wobbles when reeling and it feels likes it's loose. The reel doesn't feel like it's balanced very well. It casts pretty smooth (and far) but once you press the button you can't press the button to stop the line from coming out like every other spincast I have ever used. The drag seems to work OK but it's not meant to control a big fish.

This fishing reel is junk. The line doesn’t unspool smoothly when casting. The drag is useless. It’s not what I expected based on the price. I will never buy another Abu Garcia again. I suggest you stay away from this reel.

Pure junk!! Don’t know if this is even a genuine Abu Garcia Abumatic SX Spincast or some knock off!! When I caught my first fish it locked up on me.

Bought this for my son, don't waste your money the gears inside ripped out the 1st nice bass he caught.

I bought it at a local Academy. In my experience, normally closed face reel has brake while casting. when cast and throw too far then press button for brake, but this one does not have brake. Also this one is a bit noisy when winding. drum maybe touching slightly to the cover. button and handle have a lot of excessive play, feeling really touching piece of junk. no worth to buy whatever the price would be.
Thanks to Academy, they allowed me to return without package.

I bought a toy fishing rod with feel with Disney princess print for my daughter and her reel has brake and works fine.

worst reel I have ever bought. Drag doesnt work very well. Bought it for my wife. Should have tried it before we went on vacation in june. Then I would have known what a piece of junk it was. She casted 3 times and it would not hardly cast anymore. I went and spent $10 for new line and relined it three more times. Same problem. Now it is past return policy. Will never buy anything like this from Amazon again. If I had bought at a major retailer , returning a faulty product would not be a problem. Now I am stuck with a piece of junk.

Most of the reviews are correct. It is a piece of junk! Had mine for about 6 casts and the drag knob popped off into the drink. Can't find parts for it so it's either buy another and use my old one for parts or buy a more expensive reel.
