Can these support offshore rods with heavy reels?

Answer: They are pretty strong. I’m not sure how heavy the rods you are using, but I think they should be able to support a good 7-10 lbs.

Answer: The elastic cord is very strong and the locking mechanism is equally strong. They hold my 13.5’ Spey rods easily, so I am sure they’d do the same for your offshore rods.

Answer: These ties will hold them easily. I wouldn’t suspend them hanging from the ties on a mobing boat however. I use them for storage and transport in my truck or trailer

Bought the long and the shorter version (?) These are rather long and I presume they are designed to accommodate multiple rods+. You bundle too much the the bungee will stretch (see hook and look recommendation below). In my opinion, I rather have these secure a single rod or three at the most since it becomes more inconvenient to manage rod(s) more than three at a time. Color coded choice would be helpful. Will be cutting off excessive length, "cut to fit" and melt cut off. Then use colored instrument tape for quick visual ID.

Plastic housing is somewhat skimpy don't believe it will stand up to constant UV and salt water exposure. You could treat with some 303 Protectant. See link. This stuff is good...used on Space Shuttle.

An alternative to bungee cord (which does loose compression over time) is to use short hook and loop (velcro) straps and if you need to lengthen just join two together. See pic of securing my telescopic hand poles.

These works really nice!! I can tie down a 4 piece fishing rod with no problem… the mechanism works well…. The bungie cords are very well made… there is a foam pad that makes contact with the rod… this foam pads are glued to the plastic mechanism and can get unglued with use… I just put in a dab of glue… and problem solved… this is a really nice product…

I'm totally sold, I've bought 12 of these so far, I just wish I had noticed that they're available in black before just now. I looked for a solution to keep my rods secured for a long time before I found these and these were perfect, they solved my problem perfectly.

The quality and durability qualities of these are so strong and good, I have no doubt at all that these will last for many years. I'll probably forget and lose them long before they break. They're gentle on my rods, but hold them together totally securely. The cord is stretchy and soft, and there's a bit of soft foam on the inside part of the plastic mechanism, so there isn't even any hard plastic touching my rods.

I use these ties mainly for my fishing rods, and gear but I'm sure it can do a lot more. I usually need two hands to tighten but only one hand to loosen. Works as it should and I've bought a couple packs since finding additional uses for them. Quality product so far and holding up to normal use.
