Answer: Hello, this trap can be catch cracyfish .
Answer: It is junk. Mine was used in a farm pond to catch bluegills for catfish bait. After 2 uses the thin netting had so many holes in it that it was useless. Q:
legal in california???
Answer: Not sure if it’s legal but I use it at the local lake. If a ranger drives up, leave it in the water. I don’t know what that is. It’s not mine Sir
Answer: You will have to check your local regulations it is different for every Area
Q:
Can I use it on the ocean shore?
Answer: Yes it can be used at the ocean shore. I put sinker weights on the corners as the tide will pull and push on it. I carried out over my head into waist deep water and then dropped it down in the water. I then walked out to chest deep water and held the rope as the tide still would pull. You have to be patient and have the trap baited well to draw the minnows to the trap.
Answer: No. Mine got bent up doing that. Works great in lakes though.
Q:

Q:
can I use it from a fishing pier to get bait and a crab?
Answer: Yes! Both are OK. I suggest that you need prepare a long rope to tie up the fishing nets when you use it from a fishing pier. That would be more convenient.

Q:
How do you unfold this thing
Answer: This is junk. Made of very flimsy material. Will not hold up to repeated use in a still pond, much less water with a current. Save your money.
Answer: It founds up like an umbrella , we keep ours open because we have a place to hang it when we leave our cabin so I am sure it dries out all the way, we have caught cray fish to minnows to small fish in ours so far, the kids love it and keeps them busy checking it.

Product reviews of Goture Portable Folded Fishing Net Fish Shrimp Minnow Crayfish Crab Baits Cast Mesh Trap Automatic
FarmerKris : 2 stars for the design as it may work better for others
I didn't find that it worked. 2 stars for the design as it may work better for others.
I was using it as a minnow catcher with little success regardless of what bait I put in it. The biggest concern is that the holes are big enough for fish to find their way out. Several times I would check on it in the evening and find some fry in it and by morning it would be empty. It may with better for catching crayfish.
Phyllis Coulter : This is junk, buy something else.
This was a piece of junk that got holes in it after 1st use. Don't waste your money here. I was using it in a still pond with no current and a fairly smooth bottom surface. I was highly disappointed.and will never buy a product from here again. Luckily I had paid for it with a gift card I got from the Red Cross for donating blood.
PaulC : Good customer service saves the review
10/12/2012 update:
Seller quickly contacted me and offered to replace the trap. Received the replacement within a few days. Upgrading from 1 star to 3 stars for now due to the positive customer service. Will reevaluate after using the trap on our next fishing trip.
Original Review:
My kids wanted a trap to catch crabs and bait fish, so I bought this one based on the reviews. The day it arrived we went out to the fishing pier and threw in 2 chicken drums for bait. Attached the trap to a carabiner tied to about 12 feet of paracord to have enough rope to reach the bottom. After about 2 hrs, the line from the trap snapped off the carabiner and we lost the trap forever. Kids were so disappointed. Don't trust the line coming from the trap.
betty : Works well in bay water
Works well, caught bait fish, and small crabs
Crystal H. : This works! First try caught about 50 minnows in ...
This works! First try caught about 50 minnows in about 5 minutes! Tied an empty water bottle to the rope so we could see where the trap was, didn't need weights. We used all natural cheeto puffs for bait (shhh, don't tell anyone).Going to buy a couple more to try at the coast.
tavon m : Do NOT buy THIS product
Do NOT waste YOUR money it worked twice and THEN the hole THING caved in holding WATER IN BENT ITS GARBAGE NOW
Jay H. : Great lil trap
Great lil trap. Just pull string at top and it locks in place. Would have gave it 5 starts but zipper is faced inside. Not a huge deal just have to reach in through a hole to unzip.
Feringeah : It does not last!
This piece of rubbish is a waste of time. I bought 3 or 4 of them. ALL of them failed within a couple of days. They are badly made, do not have any resilience and as soon as you think that they are OK, the spring fails and they close down. Cannot fix it. Disgraceful and Amazon should not be selling them on their site...
tcope : Didn’t work well for us
Bought this to use as a perch trap but the openings are too large for that.
Rondell : Cheaply constructed. It Will Break After 1st Use!
Very flimsy. Better used at ponds, lakes or any still bodies of water. Had to retro fit add weight otherwise trap will drift away. Great concept tho! Poor construction! Be ready to buy another or just go back to traditional traps that are way more sturdy.
Zack : Broke on first use
Used once- as I lifted it out of the water (empty too) the cheap metal bars folded in on each other like a flimsy umbrella in a hurricane. Won’t ever buy again.
gustavo torres : red
los peces , camgrejos y camarones NOENTRAN JAJAJAJAJAJA
Tami Bassett : Legit minnow trap.
This will be year 3 with this trap. I see a lot of bad reviews, just assume they are idiots who do not know how to take care of their stuff. I use this net all summer long in Northern Michigan beaver dams for minnows. It sits on the back of my Big Red and is hauled through brush constantly. Not a single problem yet, actually here buying my second one just to have 2 out at the same time, saw the unwarrented 3 stars, and had to tell my experience.
nk3012 : Too flimsy.
Item is too flimsy to stay on the bottom..very disappointed and would not recommend.. Will look for a much sturdier item for my fishing outings
Warren B. Garrison : Chinese garbage
typical garbage from China. GREAT design, works great for catching fish. BUT the material is garbage. I've used mine about 10-12 times and already the stitching around the holes where they enter is breaking loose. I just brought one in and put about 15 small zip ties to try and save it. But yea, if you only need it for half a dozen times, it's great, but don't expect any long term use out of it.
Richard E. Dobry : Poor fish catcher
Falls apart after 1st use
Amazon Customer : I attach this net with a 15 ft string and it works great. Pros
Before using, you have to make a slit in the mesh to open up the zipper area. I attach this net with a 15 ft string and it works great.
Pros: I get about 50 crawfish per hour in this trap in California, using anchovies and chicken liver as bait. That means, most trips = bringing home at least 1/2 - 3/4 full 5 gal bucket.
Cons: The material is made out of mesh, so if it lasts more than 2 years I would be a happy crawdad fisherman. There are small white zipties that hold the wholes next to each other together. After a while, replacing the zipties may be required. It also can't be thrown too far. The best way I've found to throw it is by holding the white clamp at the top and then tossing it gently making sure it sinks on the proper sides.
Rae : Great quality
Great quality great price! I definitely recommend these. They make my preppers must have list! Perfect for ANY time. Easy to use and actually work!
alan rainwater : Great trap
Perch, bass, crawfish, catfish, minnows, turtles, snakes and shrimp. Some of everything. Always a new surprise.
Zack : Broke on first use
Used once- as I lifted it out of the water (empty too) the cheap metal bars folded in on each other like a flimsy umbrella in a hurricane. Won’t ever buy again.
Jim S. : A few faults, but Sweet!
Really cool trap, works well, a little lite on the framework if a turtle gets in, and there is no exit to get your bait other than back out through the holes. You need a rock or similar to settle it down in the water, and the netting for the bait is flimsy. All that said, none of these really take away the excitement that these traps can generate. All the above were minor fixes except I was pretty lucky on the minor turtle damage, both to the frame, and netting. I'd buy one again, just baby it...
Chris : Doesn't hold up in Salt Water
I had to order a replacement for this net today after only 3 months of use. It worked well to catch bait fish, but the internal arms started rusting almost right away. I sprayed it down with fresh water after almost every use, but it just didn't last. The design seems to work well, just need better materials.
Jay H. : Great lil trap
Great lil trap. Just pull string at top and it locks in place. Would have gave it 5 starts but zipper is faced inside. Not a huge deal just have to reach in through a hole to unzip.
Amazon Customer : Flimsy
These might be better used in a lake where the water has no tide or movement. We tried them for crab and we knew they would be light weight, so we attached a heavy weight on the bottom so it would sink faster and stay on the bottom. It did sink, however it did not stay in place. It came back towards the rocky shore very quickly and it would collapse on itself like a flimsy umbrella in a wind storm. We did not catch any crab that day, although people just down from us did
wlkrp2 : crabs
Looks great and it caught crabs. The bait holder is a joke and I had to add weights to hold it down.
But it did catch crabs and a few shrimp.
Zack : Broke on first use
Used once- as I lifted it out of the water (empty too) the cheap metal bars folded in on each other like a flimsy umbrella in a hurricane. Won’t ever buy again.
Jay H. : Great lil trap
Great lil trap. Just pull string at top and it locks in place. Would have gave it 5 starts but zipper is faced inside. Not a huge deal just have to reach in through a hole to unzip.
Amazon Customer : poor quality
fun to use, caught crabs and fish. wires rusted in 4 days, netting has rips and is coming apart. i like net just wish it was of better quality. i do not think it will last more than a month.
Amazon Customer : ????
????
Joshua : Good bait trap
Easy to assemble, all I caught so far was a bunch of turtles, I need to make the holes smaller
Jim Billberry : What a rip
The fish destroyed it the first time I used it.
FarmerKris : 2 stars for the design as it may work better for others
I didn't find that it worked. 2 stars for the design as it may work better for others.

Richard E. Dobry : Poor fish catcher
Falls apart after 1st use
Chano Martinez : Great net.
Great net. Only fault because I live on the Texas coast is that the the bars are not stainless steel so they already are starting to get surface rust because of the salt water. But work great.
Thomas S. : One Star
broke in 1h a crab get inside and destroy it
heffer,Dave : Good fishing net!!
The portable fishing net comes pre-assebled. easy to assemble and use, quality material.Take it out of the bag and simply open it it up. It closes just as easy. You need some rope and a long pole such as an old shovel handle. Tie the net to the rope and the rope to your pole. Now you can get fish right away
chuey : Very nice setup
Pull the string to set up the net, easy to use and caught quite a lot of minnows. Used bread to attract the minnows.
Amazon Customer : poor quality
fun to use, caught crabs and fish. wires rusted in 4 days, netting has rips and is coming apart. i like net just wish it was of better quality. i do not think it will last more than a month.
randy rhonemus : Great concept ! Husband loves it
Got this for my Husbands Birthday- he took it out yesterday and he loves it. Not bulky - easy to use. Thank you
Kristin : Worked so well I ordered another!
Very simple and easy to use! Just took it to the lake last weekend, attached a rope to the net and threw it out. Checked net after ten minutes and had two blue gill inside. Continued to check throughout my time at the lake and kept pulling out more fish and crawfish which I used for live bait! Worked so well I ordered another!
Stormi : Cheap construction
First time use in a stagnant canal, item ripped and zipper wouldnt work after being in water
Joshua Howard : Works great!!! Amazing pull first day.
Excellent trap. Very easy to use. For my first night I used dog food as the bait. Couldn't believe what I found the next morning, we had lots of minnows, over two dozen shrimp and two large stone crabs.
One tip, is to unzip the opening on the side and cut that area open so when you unzip you can empty your catch there.
Would definitely buy again
Kevin : No go
No go! Got all bent,
wlkrp2 : crabs
Looks great and it caught crabs. The bait holder is a joke and I had to add weights to hold it down.
But it did catch crabs and a few shrimp.
Fred D Walker : fish net
work very good
Andrew Lindgren : There is no zipper!
How am I supposed to get my catch out?
Rondell : Cheaply constructed. It Will Break After 1st Use!
Very flimsy. Better used at ponds, lakes or any still bodies of water. Had to retro fit add weight otherwise trap will drift away. Great concept tho! Poor construction! Be ready to buy another or just go back to traditional traps that are way more sturdy.
Roryson : Caught lots of shrimp, broke first time using it
the holes are big enough for large fish to get in, a catfish got in the net drug it all around the bottom until it got snagged and ripped it apart first time using it. EXTREMELY cheap, but if it's on a clean bottom i'm sure it would last a while.
Kevin : No go
No go! Got all bent,
Jim S. : A few faults, but Sweet!
