Q:
Where is the place for manufacturing
Q:
can you use frozen fruit?
Answer: I wouldn't recommend frozen fruits because it has excess water in it. It already takes about 8 hours just to dry a fresh fruit. If you do a fruit that is frozen not only will it probably take twice as long but it may not come out the way it should.
Q:
where was this made? USA?
Answer: Not likely.
Q:
where can i get a replacement manual
Answer: Contact the manufacturer on their webpage.
Q:
Does this work for candy?
Answer: Not sure for candy. We’ve only done jerky and works great
Q:

Where can I get a good book on the dehydrating foods thank you
Q:
Is the timer extremely loud? Another review of a different brand complained about this. I don't want a loud timer.
Answer: No. The timer is not loud at all. Any button that you press has a low beep. You barely notice that the dehydrator is even on. It cooks like a whisper.
Answer: The machine overall is very quiet. We left it on overnight and didn't hear it once.
Q:
Does it work on 220v ?
Answer: No, only 110
Answer: no!!!
Q:
Why can't you ship to PO box? Get your act togethet amazon.
Q:
My husband threw away my manual for my machine. Is there somewhere to download it online or get a new one? I’ve had no luck finding it online.
Answer: I don't know how you can get a manual but the instructions are fairly easy. Press the button for the time you want to dehydrate something. The manual didn't help me at all. You have to do trial and error of how long to dehydrate something depending on what it is and what the thickness is.
Q:
What size mesh screens fit this model ?
Q:
Where is this product manufacture?
Answer: China
Q:
I want to soak/sprout then dehydrate nuts. Has anyone used it for this? thanks!!
Answer: Sprouts are fragile having a small amount of internal water, so, when drying use care with heat and time levels to ensure not destroying them. Nut? Not a big fan of those vs. Dry roasting in a non-stick pan over low heat or in oven dry roasting same at low heat. Nuts have practically no water in them, thus not sure why dehydrate??
Q:
Other than the roll up sheet, anything else contains ptfe/pfa/teflon?
Answer: I think your fine !!
Q:
Am I the only one that received plastic trays? Who is the seller to possibly get the metal trays for this dehydrator?
Answer: The only plastic trays I got were for dehydrating berries, which had small holes and was almost mesh like but rigid, and a solid plastic tray for making fruit leather. Both sat on top of the wire trays.
Answer: You should have received 6 Stainless Steel racks. If your dehydrator is missing these items, please email us at support@maxi-matic.com directly. Include a copy of your amazon order confirmation and your mailing address and we will ship you the racks.
Answer: They switched to plastic a few years ago. You might be able to order them separately.
Q:
What is the wattage of this machine?
Answer: 480 watts
Q:
What are the benefits?
Answer: The benefit will be you will have a new piece of junk in your kitchen, mine had to be returned two days after arriving
Answer: To be able to dehydrate more than one tray of goods.
Q:
do you have this product at 220 v?
Answer: No that would be way too much amperage for a home food dehydrator.
Q:
Is the plug 2 prongs or 3 plongs?
Answer: It is a two-prong plug. However, you can purchase a small 3-prong adapter at any hardware store for about $1. It allows you to plug in 2 and 3 prong items. I like the simplicity of this dehydrator. It's easy to use. I have not used it often because I bought it specifically to make dried meat for my dogs and it just takes forever to do that, even though you can do it over night, I just keep forgetting to use it lol. But if you know you're going to use it on a regular basis, I highly recommend it.
Answer: 2 prong.
Q:
Someone asked what the interior was made of. One response said platice. How can that be? Please clarify anybody.
Answer: Yes all interior is plastic. However, this is plastic which is temperature correct material to the level of heat the unit is designed for. Dehydrators are lower heat level fan driven devices. I am 100% satisfied with this product, use it often and would recommend it to anyone who wants precision drying of meats [I use it for both meat and fruit] and other items. The company who makes this is TOP NOTCH!
Answer: yes, it's plastic.
Q:
Can it be operated outside the US with 240V?
Answer: My guess is unlike any US powered product, providing you use a certified power converter for that country you are visiting, sure. The actual product using a fan to dry your desired choices so it does not draw a large amount or current and power. It's the best unit to date I've used, quiet, easy to clean and use, a winner all around. Maxi-Matic has a great support site so if you drop them a question about this via their email, they do respond in a timely manner. Myself, if you use an excellent power adapter it should work fine. Great luck, be safe, Shalom Blessed be he to guard you in all travel. Moshe S.
Q:
Can we buy extra trays
Q:
are the trays dishwasher safe?
Answer: We washed them in dishwasher and they were fine.
Answer: Yes that’s the best way to clean them
Answer: I put them on the top rack
Q:
Can it support 230V ?
Answer: This is a 110-120V product. It is not recommended for use out of the US at 220-230 volts.
Answer: Mine supports 110v. Hope this helps.
Q:
Is the plastic that the body is made from BPA-free?
Answer: I honestly do not know
Q:
Is the door glass?
Answer: No. Most of the exterior of the unit is plastic.
Answer: No, it's plastic.
Answer: No it is a pretty flimsy plastic.
Q:
Do you recommend this machine ?
Answer: I would recommend this machine. We have dried onions, peppers. they turned out great. I set the timer and they were done perfectly. Very nice Dehydrator for the money.
Answer: Yes--I have owned three other machines and none compare to the quality of this one
Answer: Actually yes I do. I have only used it twice, making two batched of venison jerky. It worked as advertised. The features make it very simple. You set the time and temperature and it shuts off once it completes the cycle. So far I'm very pleased. I'd also mention it is very light and easy to move around if you need to. I'd buy it again!
Answer: Christmas present. Have not used it
Q:
I know fruits vary but with this dehydrater. typically how long does the fruit take to dehydrate?
Answer: Bananas, mangos, apples, pineapple, tend to take about 18-34 hours.
Answer: For plantains about 24 hours on low-medium or 12 on a higher temp
Answer: Mine was a defect right out of the box, sent it back and got a different make.
Q:
Anyone ever dried peppers in this?
Answer: Yes, then I blend them in the blender and make my own spices. Split them in half and they dry out faster.
Q:
Puede secar oregano
Q:
Does it support 220V?
Answer: Yes
Q:
does it come w/ a recipe booklet?
Answer: know. Are a few recipes, not many.
Q:
Can I dry fresh cranberries or peas without falling between the mesh?
Answer: Cranberries yes, but peas will fall through the mesh. I purchased a box of Homey (10 pack)14×14 non stick Teflon dehydrator sheets for this exact problem and they are reusable.
Q:
Does anyone have a link for replacement trays? They get brittle after a dozen uses then break a little too easily.
Answer: No
Q:
How do you set the correct temp? The numbers on the dials don’t match up with the recommended instructions & instructions don’t go over setting temp.
Answer: With the dial on the front of it

Product reviews of Elite Gourmet EFD313B Food Dehydrator, Adjustable Temperature Controls, Jerky Herbs Fruit Veggies Snacks, BPA-Free, Stainless Steel 6 Trays
Amazon Customer : Good but be careful with handling
Product arrived to my house with a plastic part broken, i used a special glue to fix it. overall it's a good dehydration machine
Chambu : Works Great
I have used it several times to dehydrate figs, mangos, and apples, and it works great. The '-' and '+' buttons are not easy to use.
Moni : This dehydrator is GREAT!
This dehydrator was very economical. I started making jerky treats for my dog and paid for this dehydrator with the first 2 batches. It's very easy to use, easy to clean, and does great. I use it weekly for treats and want to dry herbs from my garden and strawberries. I highly recommend this product.
Schmoo : Did Not dehydrate chicken
It took 24 hrs not 8 for chicken to dry and even after 24 hrs it was STILL moist. Sent it back.
Jimmy Boy : Unfair review
Unfair review, it came broken and clearly someone bought it, broke it And then returned it.
Nichole Balderas : Elite Platinum Maxi-Matic EFD-313B Digital Food Dehydrator
This was the perfect size and very easy to put together. Perfect for Deer/Beef jerky. My boyfriend is VERY Happy with Elite Platinum Maxi-Matic EFD-313B Digital Food Dehydrator.
Lulu : Good buy if you have the time
It’s spacious and durable, however even at the highest setting it takes forever to dehydrate. As a bartender that dehydrates citrus almost every day, I have to let the lemons and limes go for at least 20 hours, whereas my previous dehydrator only needed 12. Good buy if you have plenty of time to let it do it’s thing.
Mark : no need to CAN fruit , when dehydrated /dried is more fun to chew!
The unit arrives with suggestions and timings/temperatures for most fruits and vegetables. Ease of use.
Looks smart on the counter, the dehydration trays are dishwasherable. Now I can enjoy summer surplus and save on dried fruits by doing it myself - without the flies !
it wasn't too costly. 'white noise '/ fan sound is oddly comforting like a therapist's waiting room.. Some of the perforations in the grill/ structure were too big for small blueberries, they fell thru, i think a nylon net ( like what fruits like Avocados and Mandarin oranges come in would be advised to lay out on the grill to prevent small berries from dropping thru. no harm done tho.
JF : Easy to use
This is my first dehydrating machine. I always have made beef jerky in the oven but decided I would get this to try instead of heating my whole house all day. This machine is easy to use and set. The 6 trays fit a lot of meat, around 4 lbs easily. The only downside is that it never got to the set 160 degrees. The highest it would go according to the thermometer I placed inside was 140-145 degrees... so I made sure to put it in the oven at 275 degrees for 10 minutes to make sure it was completely pasteurized after dehydrating.
Amazon Customer : Good but be careful with handling
Product arrived to my house with a plastic part broken, i used a special glue to fix it. overall it's a good dehydration machine
~Susan : I like it. Making dog treats - saving a LOT of money.
I like this unit. It's lightweight yet sturdy, quiet, stainless steel shelves are easy to clean and I believe a lot more durable than plastic. It's paying for itself quickly in healthy one ingredient - easy to make and store - dog treats.
Jail murse 808 : Ok not great. Get what you pay for
Hard to fully dehydrate things on top half trays. Weak fan. Definitely needs work but not expensive so you get exactly what you pay for. Takes forever. Bought a better one, Corsio? Sp? And not even close comparison. Do it right and buy a better one right off the bat.
Jordan Larson : Read the set up instructions
So far, it's been a great product! I've done several fruits and they're all delicious. If you do some research on dehydration, and read the instructions....you should have no problem. Educate yourself before writing a bad review.
Nicole : Two Thumbs Up!
I love eating dehydrated snacks however, it’s gotten to be too expensive. So, decided to make my own. This dehydrator is really nice. It has 3 temperature grade reads, so you can control how long the temperature you would like for your snack or ingredient. I check on my food as it’s being dehydrated. I don’t want a snap in my food, just a crack. I’m very happy with my results.
JLo : Just doesn’t work
I have tried drying oregano in here and it quite literally takes nearly 48 hours to dry. This should only take max 6 hours! Waste of a money on a machine that doesn’t work.
AM : So far fine
This seems to be a nice dehydrater. Not too big. I do have a problem with tempature control. I started some Jerky and want it to be at 150. It won’t do it. It goes from 145 to 160. Secondly I just read a warning in pamphlet the dehydrater has cancer causing chemical in it. But doesn’t say what or where.
UPDATE: Manufacture emailed me back and said cancer causing agent is in cord. They are required by law to report. Didn’t say what it was.
wisconsin man : Great machine.....
Nothing really to dislike, used a lot and has held up very well, heavy duty metal racks, easy to clean and it's working around the clock dehydrating food for my kayaking camping trips.
Fern : plenty of space for all kinds of great healthy snacks for you and your dog/pets.
Great snack dehydrator, fast efficient and plenty of space for all kinds of great snacks for you and your dog/pets. Fruits or meats you name it and this can dehydrate it!
No plastic smells and metal racks make for a great buy!
alethea rose : Ehhh?!?
Easy to use. Goes up to 158 degrees If I remember correctly. Takes longer to dry things than directed. But in the end, it works. Pain to clean. If you want something to experiment with and not waste a lot of money this will work. If you want to get serious and make stuff, spend more for a better machine.
Jordan Larson : Read the set up instructions

fun2go : Works Great but.....
The dehydrator works very well, is easy to use. My concern is the construction, it is plastic and not a very sturdy plastic. I'm afraid the door may not hold up to opening & closing often. I may have misread the description as it said BPA free Stainless Steel, so I expected the unit to be metal. The shelves are SS and food does not stick to it. I've tried a few things, jerky and herbs and both turned out well. The fan is relatively quiet. The unit itself is big.
Still haven't decided if I will keep it.
Patti D : No manual
Doesn’t come with an instruction manual. Only instruction manual on their website is for a bread maker. Returning
Floyd H. : It holds a lot of stuff
It took forever to dry the items even though they were properly spaced.
Ended up using my oven.
I will try it with fruit.
N'boots : Why didn't I get one sooner?
I am in love with this thing. It's pretty much been running since I bought it. It's easy to operate and has multiple temperature settings (135-160 F). Timer can be adjusted in 30 minute intervals and can even be adjusted while the unit is running to add more time. Shelves are metal. A quick run through a dish washer is all that is needed when you are done drying sticky items like sliced berries. My only wish was that it came with more of the fine mesh that sits on top of the metal rack (for small items) and at least 1 other fruit leather tray.
So far we dried:
fruits: bananas, apples, strawberries, raspberries, oranges
fruit leathers: apple, apple mango, apples apricot, apple strawberry
veggies: sweet bell peppers, carrots, onions, celery
Nicole : Two Thumbs Up!

Sherri Wingard : Metal shelves last, good quality, beef jerky for days!
Buy this! You will not regret it. My first dehydrator had plastic shelves (Ronco). The trays became very brittle and shattered. I purchased this dehydrator with metal shelves and absolutely love it. I make beef jerky weekly and this product is perfect.
R. Nixon : This makes a great filament dryer for 3D printers
Why buy a PrintDry when you get practically the same device for a fraction of the price? The only thing I needed to do to make this work with my spools of filament was to cut the inner rings out of four out of five trays, leaving the bottom tray intact. Could not have been much easier and it’s working great.
Becca V : CHEAP RIPOFF - MELTS WHEN USING LOW SETTING.
Melted despite using as instructions intended...cheap and poorly made. You'd be better off buying another model (and I note the price has gone up $10 since I bought it a few months ago)
Alden : Great dehydrator without plastic racks.
This dehydrator is easy to use! It works really well. You can only set the temp in increments of 5, if this isn’t precise enough for you then you are way more picky than I am.. I have found that it takes a lot longer time than what they suggest in the manual. It doesn’t get very hot (I can touch the sides and back without being burned) but the bottom did make the counter pretty warm. We set ours on a upside down metal pan to be safe. I like how it has the metal wire rack and not the plastic trays like many dehydrators have. Overall a great product!
JF : Easy to use

gina kohm : Not As good as I thought it would be
I kind of wish I spent more money and bought a better one this is good for a few things but it’s not As good as I thought it would be
wendy beehner : Good dehydrator.
I enjoy this dehydrator. I'm not happy with the temperature control being 10 degrees apart. I'm not able to control the exact temperature and that's annoying. Metal mesh trays are not the easiest to clean so i would recommend buying dehydrator sheets.
Gretchen Kennett : Best beef jerky maker!!
Make sure you wipe it down and run it for 30 mins prior to use as suggested. I bought this specifically for beef jerky and I've been making it since the day I got it. I hate spending money on jerky. Now I always have delisish jerky in my home. It's not to large and I can easily do just over 2 lbs in one setting. So easy to use quiet and nice looking. Love this machine!
Angel59 : Excellent Dehydrator!
I love how compact it is I can place it on my counter. It works really well and the stainless steel trays are very sturdy. I looked for a long time for a good machine and this one is a good price. I have dehydrated tomatoes, broccoli, eggplant and made raw vegan wraps in it. I love this machine!
edger : Great air circulation.
It is a compact unit. Magnetic door holds well. Not loud but not silent. The convection fan is actually big enough to do the job. Very important. Preheats fast. This one was what I thought a fair price of 81 dollars.
wendy beehner : Good dehydrator.
I enjoy this dehydrator. I'm not happy with the temperature control being 10 degrees apart. I'm not able to control the exact temperature and that's annoying. Metal mesh trays are not the easiest to clean so i would recommend buying dehydrator sheets.
charles m smoak : Good product for the money.
I have made beef and chicken breast jerky 5 times now . It was worked well. I have slightly adjusted time and temperature as I have learned how it functions. Just don't over dry your jerky to start with a you can simply dry it more to your desire. I am sure it will dehydrate to preserve fruits and vegetables. For a family size unit it is a good investment in my opinion.
Kindle Customer : Strange smell
This works pretty well but I would caution people to wash it thoroughly before use and let it run a few hours empty. I put some apples in after a quick wipe down and got a strange odor in the first few hours that penetrated the food. Seems oily in nature. Will wash again and try another load and update the review later. Edit: nope the odor is still there and still penetrating the food. Downgraded my rating to one star. Run away from this one!
niteliter : Not worth the money.
Price was great, quality was very poor,I set it to the needed temperature of 135 but could only find a high of 111 using a very reliable heat seeker, what was supposed to take 6-8 hours ended up taking 15,and that was after following directions closely, but that was my mistake as I have read several times to not buy a machine that heated from the bottom,I will return this and search again.I expect Amazon to block this review.
Wishfour : Item As Described, Easy to Operate and Clean
As the title says, it's does what it's supposed to do. Easy to operate and clean. I had to Google what is the difference between a Food Dehydrator and an oven and basically there are 2 things...1. You save space and time from your ove and 2. It's more energy efficient than your oven. So if those 2 things are important to you, it's worth it. I bought it to make jerky meat for my dogs. It took a long time to dry out the Bacon but they loved it when it was done!
Brittani : Great bang for your buck
So far, it is taking longer than it says to dry herbs but overall pretty satisfied. I love the temperature control, very quiet (my roommate asked if it was on while standing in the kitchen near it, its that quiet), and quite compact. I think this is a great deal and would recommend.
Laurien Rabadi : Only used once and now I'm stuck with it.
The product took well over the required hours to dehydrate an item. I got it in May and finally used it 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I missed the return window. It doesn't work well. I spent more money on the electricity vs buying dehydrated products. I ended up throw out what I dehydrated.

Muffin E. : Works great, worth its weight in dog treats!
I’ve been using this dehydrator a couple times a week for the last few months since I bought it. Works like a charm, though I do sometimes have to run it for longer/hotter than the booklet it came with indicates for certain things. This may just be personal preference, though, as the few things I dehydrate regularly need to be crunchy vs. leathery. It’s already paid for itself—dehydrated sweet potatoes are one of my dog’s favorite treats but so expensive to buy in the store!
Drewboi???????? : Very nice product
It's a lovely product howver with time and patients You will see the results that you want from it It's light weight easy to use easy to clean the temperature control and it is very wonderful Doesn't make a lot of noise which is good The shipping of the product Took her on to it's because I'm in Jamaica so But the the wait was worth it because as the mediately as I got it I just clean it up and it start using right away is just easy to use from the Box you just got up his stuff whatever you put in it and just put it in and you're good to go My only disappointment is that it took way too long for the stuff to get dried out um but I guess it does depends on what ever you are putting in like for onions bell peppers beef jerky those have like less moisture it in so its user to get dried out took me like have 6 hours to get the onions and bell peppers to dried but the end result was great
Lulu : Good buy if you have the time
It’s spacious and durable, however even at the highest setting it takes forever to dehydrate. As a bartender that dehydrates citrus almost every day, I have to let the lemons and limes go for at least 20 hours, whereas my previous dehydrator only needed 12. Good buy if you have plenty of time to let it do it’s thing.
truthbeknown : Not reliable product
This product is not sturdy, I was using it for at least 4 times since purchased, the trays were break apart in pieces.
Melissab21 : Elite Gourmet Food Dehydrator Personal review
The Elite Gourmet Food Dehydrator works great! It does not take up a lot of surface area in the counter and it makes quick work of dehydration.
I really liked how the trays “nest” together for secure stacking. I like the dial for temperature, the fan for circulating air through the product. The unit is easy to clean and store!
I noticed the temperature control has ranges of temperature, but no specific setting. The light indicating the unit is easily for confused for temperature indicator. The trays can almost be stacked either way but they align with tabs abs putting a tray in upside down isn’t possible.
Overall the unit is a great balance of price, size, and operation. I highly recommend
Jennifer Clarke : TAKES FOREVER AND HAS NO TIMER
The instructions that come with the dehumidifier claim that you can dry apples in 8 hours, it took 3 days!! Also, there is no timer on it so you have to keep track on how long things are in there. There is also not an option to return this POS so now I am stuck with it. Don't bother to buy this, go with a better option and save your time and money.
Laura Dielmann : be careful!
not sure what happened. well I do know 4 trays are melted and now trash. I was able to make several trays of chicken jerky before everything decided to melt away.. I just recieved the dehydrator 2 days prior and now this.. ????♀️
