Answer: The gripper portion is 9-10 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. I haven't damaged any fish using mine. The scale portion (with hook) is about the same length. Use the lanyard to attach the 2 pieces and it comes out to about 2 foot long. BTW, I weighed some metal weights when I got it and found it very accurate at 5 and 10 pounds.

Answer: Sadly, throw it away. I had the same issue, worked great for about one tournament then just died. I then bought the Rapala 15lb digital tournament scale and swapped the clip for the small Ardent gripper clamp. I have a full year on that rig, dropped it in my live well at least once, baked it in the sun, and left it in the rain...and my weights are still spot on with the weigh-in results.

Firstly, I love the water resistance and that it floats, has an easy to read display and is bright orange and easy to spot in my bag when I catch that first fish worth weighing. This was the second one I bought. Last year I bought one and it lasted the season...didn't work this spring so what the heck, I buy another. This one's been all over the place on perceived accuracy (like ~1.5# fish registering 12 oz) but was it just my eye? Well, the other day I caught an 18" largemouth that weighed in at ZERO pounds. I was able to get the scale to read >0 only by pulling it hard and yes, I tried several tares to no avail. So, freshly outside the return period I offer this review. It won't last long and may make you think you were like all those other fishermen that lie about the size of their fish. But maybe they aren't lying after all and just bought KastKing scales.

Conceptually a good idea. In reality, junk.

The buttons didn’t work and you could kill a fish while you fooled around trying to get it on or to tare or to switch to LBs because it magically switched to KGs.

It killed the first battery by not shutting off and I happened to have another CR2032 battery, but that just dumb anyway. Why not use common batteries like AAA or AA?

Anyway, buy something else. Either from a reputable brand or just get an analog scale.

this thing is junk checked it’s Accuracy with a 10 pound weight it weighed 10.11 pounds so then I went and tried it with a 10 pound bag of unopened flower it weighed 9.2 pounds. Checked it against a friends scale and it weighed them accurately. I was a KastKing inner circle member but I am no longer going to buy or promote cast king anymore.

I received the scale and lip gripper recently and it appears the scale is very accurate. The lip gripper that comes with the scale is small, so may not be the best for someone with large hands, but it it closes tightly and feel confident it will do it's job. The fact that they are both orange / black is very nice so it will be easy to spot if laid down while I am out and being able to float is a plus.

This is my first Muskie caught @ the end of 9mile st.clair shores, mi. The scale said that this 46” Muskie weighed 13.4lbs. I placed weights in a bucket and the scale is off by lbs every time. I wanted to send state of michigan a pic with fish and weight but the scale is so off I can’t register my first Muskie catch for anglers patch. This scale can suck it!

Extreme Philly Fishing : Overall a Good Scale!

I originally got one of these to replace my Rapala Weighting Scale. Pros and Cons! Pros: it comes with a gripper, which I find phenomenal. It is a great way of weighting Bass or similar species without ripping their gills, etc. For bigger fish, anglers should put the fish in a net and then weight it. I have had it for a while and battery is still good! Hasn't failed me yet.

Cons: It doesn't have a lbs only system. It has only Kilograms and Lbs and Oz. I understand that this is all personal preference, but being a Physicist, I am just used to 33.50lbs instead of 33lbs 8 oz.. Also, I wished the scale came with a different type of battery in it; though, most scales in the market use complex batteries! Hah.

Really like this scale from KastKing! It is very easy to use, and also comes with a gripper that attaches to the scale. There are no injuries to the fish with this product! Totally environmentally friendly! My favorite part about this scale is that it is not only waterproof, but it completely floats! Being that the scale is bright orange in color, it really stands out when it gets dropped in the lake! Our did fall in the lake. We sent our dog out to retrieve it, and it was still as good as new! Several of my friends have bought the scale, as well, and really like it!

The scale has a nice backlit display. The scale is easy to hold and fits just right in my large hand. It is comfortable to hold either the handle on top, or gripped by the sides. The hook on the scale is appropriately sized, and not super pointy. The scale is easy to use, light, waterproof, and brightly colored. The fish grippers are a smaller size than expected, and may be too small for the inshore fishing I had intended to use them for. I may add a larger size to the set later, but If you have any intention of weighing smaller toothy fish it should be fine. They seem to be quality grippers, just smaller than I would like, and I doubt they would work well with anything close to the max rating of the scale.

Great fish scale at a reasonable price. It was perfectly accurate right out of the package. I dropped it off my kayak into the water and it floated fine and appears to have no water intrusion. Also the fish grippers work great and hold the fish with no problems.

Bought for kayak fishing knowing it was going to get wet... seemed to hold up the first couple of times I took it out but when I went to use it today after having it for about two weeks there was water behind the screen. I turned it on and seemed to tare okay but was not reading accurately. I pulled pretty hard on the hook and barely got to read two pounds. I restarted it and then the display showed a series of numbers and wouldn’t do anything else, I couldn’t even get it to turn off afterwards. Not very water proof... it seems as other reviewers have waterproof issues as well.

I had this scale to use while kayak fishing as it was advertised as waterproof and floatable. I mostly bought due to it being floatable as I would not have to necessarily tether it to the kayak. This product had not even gotten very wet and had never been submerged. Yet, the product became waterlogged and quit working for awhile. Now it is working but you can barely see the numbers. I would not recommend this item at all. I have had other scales that work much better than this one albeit for a higher price and they were not advertised as waterproof or floatable.

I really like this scale, from it being waterproof to the "last 8 weights" memory. The grabbers are weak and slipped on a 4 pound fish. I would much rather they add a grabber clip to the scale in place of the gill hook and get rid of this useless add-on.
