Answer: Hello, you regulate the length according to what you want. Loosening and adjusting the black plastic threads. The only stretch that has no adjustment is the first. But the rest just loosen the black plastic thread, extend the tube and re-adjust it. Ok??? Best regards.

Answer: I dont have mine with me right now but I believe the first section (closest to the hook) just pulls out. Depending on which model (length) you have there will be one or two black plastic adjusters. Simply loosen the adjuster by holding the metal tube and turn the top of the black plastic adjuster counterclockwise (like you are removing the top on a soda bottle), then pull out on the tube to lengthen and retighten the black plastic cap to hold in place. Do the same with the second one (if you have the 63" version).

It broke after only a few uses. Go bigger. The larger one I purchased lasted one year of hard fishing and then broke at the extensions. I bought the smaller one the second time around and it broke the second time I used it. The largest fish I am catching is only 35 pounds but I catch a lot. So I recommend you go bigger or don't bother.

First big fish and the gaff bent all up! The gaff, the rod, everything bent on a mahi. Lost the fish and threw the gaff away. The only plus is that the gaff is sharp and went right in. This goes back to the saying “you get what you pay for”. Don’t buy it for anything of size!

I like that it's lightweight and expandable. What i dont like is the segment that attaches to the hook isnt static. It actually extends but does not lock in place. I ended up gluing it with some loctite to prevent it from moving. I also am a little disappointed that the hook is already rusting despite me rinsing it in freshwater after each use.

We have already used this gaff several times on our boat. We have only used it for sharks, about 30-40 pound size, to control while fishing with children. The hook is nice and sharp and goes through the tough shark skin without difficulty. Im surprised by how strong it is when fully extended. It flexes a little, but does not seem to get close to breaking. We have already landed three sharks with it and hopefully will continue many years! No issues with rusting or wear from the salt water so far. Highly recommend for the casual fisherman wanting to control large fish.

The hook twists so you have to be careful not to twist it around too much or it might just come off. You have to make sure it’s tight after every use. The reach is great! Really long and the hook is very heavy duty! It can hold a lot of weight! I lost the little protective cap for the hook end so I just have to be very careful where I store it .. super sharp!
