Questions about Fiblink Folding Aluminum Fishing Landing Net Fish Net with Extending Telescoping Pole Handle
Q:
what is the total carrying weight ?
Answer: Extremely light! I would guess maybe a pound or two. Not much more. With the cover it is very easy to hold. carry or tie down to a pack.
Answer: The folding fishing net weighs about 2.5 lbs. comes in its own containment bag and stores well.
Answer: So far I bagged up to a 15lb striper with no issue
Answer: have scoped up 40 lbs drum a few times
Q:
Would this work for lobstering? Not too bouyant?
Answer: I've never lobstered, but it has nice length, is sturdy and handles 3-5 lb. bass and catfish with no problem.
Answer: Thank you for the question. It is crap. I read bad reviews and I said to myself "Self, everybody has problems, certainly it will be fine" It was not fine. It was already coming apart at the bottom of the net. DO NOT BUY from this company if this is how they make things
Q:
What is the mesh diameter? Looking to scoop anchovies for tuna
Answer: looks like about 3/8" mesh
Q:
Can the net be removed
Answer: i think so the net. the net is just slide around it, unscrew the loop and it should come off(?)
Answer: No reason to change it. The net will last for years.
Answer: No I don’t believe so.
Q:
Can you catch minnows and other smaller bait fish or are the holes too big?
Answer: The holes are small enough to catch minnows.
Answer: We've actually been catching minnows with it today. Seems perfect for that.
Answer: Net is in my FL home but as I recall holes are than 1 inch.
Q:
Could this be unassembled and put in a large suitcase?
Answer: I don't believe you woul need to disassemble as the net portion colapses to about four five inches wide. Comes with a storage bag,
Answer: The net is 40 inched long.. as I RECALL THE NET CAME ASSEMBLED but collapsed.
Q:
Does the handle lock in place when folded up?
Answer: No, it doesn’t “lock” in the storage/travel position when not deployed. It securely locks when unfolded and ready to use. I see no use for it to lock in the storage position. When fishing with it, it deploys fast when needed.
Answer: Yes, Locks up to stow on your boat nicely!
Answer: Yes it does. It will fit in the bag that comes with it as well. Seems to be a good one for me, so far.
Q:
can it be used to dip minnows or are holes too big
Answer: holes way too big
Answer: I think the holes are too big.
Answer: Too big
Answer: I've caught smaller than 1 inch minnows and shrimp
Q:
Where is this net being shipped from?
Answer: I think it comes from China
Q:
How long is it
Answer: How long is really, really long and what weight of fish can it hold?
Answer: Really really long
Answer: 4 feet
Q:
How does this usually ship?
Answer: Amazon, that's all I know usually UPS or FedEx
Q:
have they fixed the plastic breaking yet?? also how many inches across is the net??
Answer: No still cheap plastic handle
Q:
Is there another version of this net with a smaller hoop?
Q:
Is there a replacement net only?
Answer: Hmmm, I wouldn't think you would need to replace this net any time soon, as good as it is!
Q:
What type of material this fishing net made of ?
Answer: It's a fabric, not a rubberized material.
Q:
I fish off a Pier I need a 12 foot long pole. Is this long enough
Answer: I have used it to fish off from a 10 foot bridge but it is very difficult to maneuver the net around with one arm and hand while doing the same with a good size Walleye on the other end of your line and fishing pole. I would to be honest with you you should buy yourself a drop net for fishing off from that 12 foot wall rather than this extendable fishing net. My opinion only from using the net in question 10 to 12 feet above the water... I use a drop net instead.
Answer: No it is only 80 inches.
Answer: It is long enough. But I only use it for catching grass shrimp(bait). I wouldn't put anything heavier than a 5 pound fish in it.
Q:
How do you fold it once opened?
Answer: at the base of the net, there is a grey thumb latch, pull down towards the handle and the net should release to the fold position
Answer: watch how it opens then press the net release and reverse the process
Q:
Is the net strong enough to pull up a turtle with heavy muck?
Answer: This is a great net but a scoop net is not the rim is just nylon in the front dropped my flashlight the other day and couldn't scoop it up on a sand covered concrete bottom
Answer: Its a good net, but what you may need is a backhoe.
Q:
Can it land saltwater striped bass?
Answer: Well I actually returned this, not because of quality, just because it is actually very good for landing big fish,
Answer: I wouldn't use it for that. It's a great net for bait, but not for a big striper.
Answer: It should. I caught a small shark in the net
Answer: i wouldn't think so. 16-20"
Answer: I've landed 40+ lb black drum but mostly use it for scooping blue crabs off side of Seawall
Q:
Will the material handle hooks from getting stuck or tangled?
Answer: Have had no problems with hooks getting stuck or tangled any more than with any other quality net.
Answer: Yes but the bigger rubber netting is better less tangling!
Answer: It is not rubber coated, so hooks can get caught in the net. But I love the net, stores easily and it is very strong.
Answer: Unfortunately I have not had a chance to use it yet. but I like the design and don't believe there will be any issues with that area of the net.
Q:
Will the handle rotate of the collets are not locked down?
Answer: I don’t ever lock mine down and have had no issues, really like this net
Answer: The handle is fixed.
Answer: It rotates down and closes.
Answer: yes, it will rotate. You have to know how to use the equipment. It's not difficult.
Answer: If you don't tighten them down, Yes!
Q:
Can you replace the net?
Answer: Our products have one year warranty, please feel free to contact seller if there is anything wrong the net and we'll help you replace it.
Q:
can the net be changed out for another (round, wide mouth)?
Answer: I imagine you could cut off the net and add a new one but this is a really great net-we use it for large mouth bass and catfish in Eastern WA
Answer: It would be easier to buy a round net.
Answer: No the design will not let you change out nets
Q:
Has anyone used this for saving butterflies who get caught in a high tunnel/greenhouse? Can it work for that?
Answer: Not sure but I think the net that comes with it would be too heavy and injure the butterflies
Answer: No. You need a butterfly net. The net material is totally different.
Answer: The gaps in the net portion would be too large I believe. Though I have tried it to capture butterflies.
Q:
I need a long handle net to catch guinea hens that roost in the rafters of our barn. Would they be too heavy for the net? (approx 5lbs)
Answer: No. The net can handle 5lbs.
Answer: I believe that this would work okay. It's a pretty sturdy net.
Answer: Net is strong should be fine
Q:
Is there a way th attach a wrist loop to the end of the handle?
Answer: I suppose you could drill a hole and run something thru the handle. Could work great!
Answer: No and honestly I would not buy this net it is so hard to get the fish into it because there is no piece of metal across the front of the net
Q:
I'm looking for a telescoping net to use for crabbing from docks and piers with a hand line. Will this be useful or should I look for something else?
Answer: This is a great net for fish but I don't know how it will work for a pier if it is a long way down. If you are worried about the netting I think it will hold but it will depend on if the crab gets it and cuts through it-we use it for good sized catfish, bass and trout and it is awesome but I am not sure about for crabs.
Answer: I'm not familiar with crabbing. This is a nice durable net, I don't have the longest one but I love the one I have.
Answer: I have done a lot of crabbing from docks. I do not think this would be your best choice.
Answer: Can't help as I don't know what a hand line is.
Answer: This is not good . It's broke 1st day. TY
Answer: I think it would work ok for you
Answer: That's exactly what I use mine for caught about 40 blue crab two nights ago in 3 hours it works awesome on a concrete Seawall but not so well on the bottom haven't mastered that technique yet
Q:
what size art the hole in the mesh?
Answer: About 1/4 inch nylon mesh. Only weak point is the latch that locks the net, but if you rinse and lube it no problems. Very sturdy net for fish to 10-15 lbs.
Answer: The holes are rectangle shape about 1/8 x 1/4 inch . It is about the size of a black eye pea. I hope this will help you.
Q:
what is the width & length of the net opening?
Answer: foldable fishing net: Extend Length max.: 118" | Handle Length: 40"-100"(extendable) | Net Depth: 17" | Perimeter of the triangle Hoop: 65" | 40" when fully collapsed. Hope that answer your question.
Answer: 21 inches wide and 17 inches long opening
Q:
can i order a replacement net??
Answer: I don't know I havent had to
Q:
Are the pole components supposed to lock in place when fully extended? Connectors seem to be there, but when you twist them they just spin freely.
Answer: Rotate the connector clockwise, tighten it!
Answer: Yes, you need to open fully.
Q:
I need to know the size of the mesh please ? I want to use the longest model for catching shrimp . Will it work for large shrimp?
Answer: Yes PERFECT! Well made collapsing telescoping net. From base of handle to the net 41.5 ". Netting will handle small shrimp also. Buy Two!
Answer: Im sure it will work for large shrimp I use it for 5-8lb catfish I'm not sure what size the net is.
Answer: Yes it will work for shrimp the mesh is about a quarter inch.
Answer: less than 1/4" long x 1/8" wide good for even small / medium shrimp
Answer: I'm not really sure. The first time we used it the head snapped off. It did seem strong and we were really impressed with the length but the weight might be too much for the length.
Answer: Will check
Answer: Mine will catch shrimp smaller than 1 in
Q:
Is this the cheap plastic net that wrecks the fish so we can't catch and release them? or is it the real rope net that protects the fish???
Answer: It's the rope kind. However, I believe the rubbery netting is best for catch and release. I believe the rope kind could and will hurt the fish.
Answer: It a good net. Could have some improvements but for the price, its a good fish net with real rope netting.
Answer: Mine is rubber lined. Never hurt the fish I caught, hooks never tangled in the net. I used it from a kayak kept issues of hook tied up in net
Answer: This net does not harm the fish you can catch and release
Answer: The net material is actually pretty good on this. The quality of the handle is not good. Mine broke at the basket after using it twice. The bad part was I bought the item and it stayed put away for several months until I got a chance to go fishing. The second time to net a crappie and it broke when it hit the water. It was past the allowed time for returns so it went to the trash.
Answer: It is a plastic net, but seems to work fine.
Answer: it's made of some kind of rope not plastic
Q:
Would this net be able to land flathead catfish (up to 40lbs)?
Q:
What is the net material or is it rubber
Answer: material
Q:
How big of a fish can you land with this? In another word, can you land 40 paunds or bigger with this?
Answer: No, maybe 15 pounds max. Not a very big net area. Well made for smaller fish, fold well.
Answer: No the opening is to small. More for bass fishing.
Answer: I have landed 40 lb black drum
Q:
Is the mesh small enough for grass shremp
Answer: The mess will pick up most float material.
Answer: Large on
Answer: The mesh is small enough but the hoop is too flexible for scooping through grass the center will basically just ride above the grass
Q:
we pushed the gray lever back toward the handle. the release does not work. How hard do you have to push to get the net arms to collapse?
Answer: You have to slide the first adjustment handle near the release back about 2 inches before it will release.
Q:
Is this net good for crabbing as well?
Answer: Yes, but as it's larger and heavier than a traditional crab net it may tire you.
Q:
What is mesh hole size?
Answer: No larger than 1/4 inch.
Q:
Is the net replaceable?
Q:
What is the maximum weight of fish that can be netted? fishing from pier and fish are weighing between 20-40 lbs
Answer: Test your net for maximum efficiency lift. Try lifting 40 lbs weights fully extended in the net and if it pends, then it's not going to lift 40 lbs. I recommend not lifting a fish with the pole extended straight out. Try raising the net with the pole straight up with the handle. You don't put any stress on the pole and you have control of the fish in the net.
Answer: Gave it to my husband- he says that would be a lot for the net. It would really be testing it.
Answer: I have scooped up 40 lb from straight down maybe Pull It in toward you and then pull up
Q:
How do I extend the pole, the black plastic piece that I assume needs to be turned is extremely tight?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: You just loosen it and then pull out the handle.... Mine was firm but not too tight to loosen...
Answer: That is how, left to loosen
Q:
Is the net coated so hooks don't get snagged?
Answer: So far I have had no problem with hooks getting caught in the net. That's not to say it can't happen. The biggest fish I have landed in this net was 5 lbs .Hope this helps.
Q:
Is there a solid cross bar to the net when opened or is it only supported by the 2 side arms?
Answer: There is no cross bar, sadly it did not live up to our expectations and it snapped the first time we used it. No doubt the catch was too heavy for it (about 5 lbs) and it had to be returned. It was really a very nice looking net and it did telescope out as expected but it just was made for smaller catches.
Answer: its only supported by the two side arms.. but it is very strong. I used it many times with kokanee and lake trout worked great!
Answer: Side arms only but I haven't had any problems with it.
Q:
How wide is the net opening?
Answer: The opening is triangular shape 22”x22”x22”.
Q:
Is the pole 8 ft?
Answer: I don't know , I do know that it is long enough to reach over the side of my Crestliner boat and get the fish out of the water
Answer: yes
Q:
Will this handle catching live 5 lb chickens or 30 lb turkeys???
Answer: Chickens yes
Q:
Is this strong enough to use to catch a feral cat?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: http://www.alleycat.org/page.aspx?pid=984
Answer: A cat could get hurt from a net...they panic. You need a live cat trap.
Answer: I'd get a live trap instead.
Product reviews of Fiblink Folding Aluminum Fishing Landing Net Fish Net with Extending Telescoping Pole Handle
bliss4mendoza : The compact/fordable is perfect for my needs
I purchased this net for its reviews and gave it a try. The only reason I bought this net is fishing off the docks in the bay where I live. The compact/fordable is perfect for my needs, once I landed the first shark my thoughts was that it the net was too light and would not hold the weight of the shark (15) pounds later I managed to get the shark on board the deck. Shortly I landed a stripper weigh (8) lbs with no problem. One thing I recommend is not to try to land fish on a 90 degree angle, this will not work, for me... what I had to do was to scoop up the meal/fish and slowly retrieve the net towards the dock (you). Sorta like a tugging motion otherwise the net will not hold the weight of the fish and may break the pole. I learned this the heard way and now,I know that you use commend sense and a bit of skill. Other than the engineering of the net, Its well built and sturdy. The material is non corrosive and works well in all water types including salt water. am definitely buying a second one for my fishing buddy. I recommend this net for any type of fishing, but don't forget to use common sense. Sorry but but I don't have photos this time to submit. Next trip out I will add some photos.
Amazon Customer : great net all the way around.
I love this net. I fish off my Dock and its high front the water. Catching a fish and lifting the fish up makes it so easy not to lose your fish. Easy to store in my dock box. Great quality as well.
Crystal Lee : Easily broken
The support between the net hoop and pole is plastic with roughly 0.5"x0.5" cross-section. This joint completely broke off during my second use of scooping up small bait fish on the dock. It didn't snag on anything. This is the weak joint in the design of the net.
Tammy Mayfield : Stores Away
Lightweight and foldable. Stores away in a small area.
Jay S. : Fiblink 118" Model
This review is for the 118" model First impressions: folds up nicely and compactly, I was surprised at how small the box it came in was. Seems well made and sturdy. The Y joint that connects the net to the handle is plastic but seems sturdy. The mesh is small enough to net minnows which was a surprise bonus. As with pretty much any net, you should always turn the net and lift vertically, with the handle straight up. I do wish the net were a little deeper like the shorter model but it should be large enough for fish 3' in length. I have taken off 1 star because the advertised length is 118" but when I put a tape measure on it it measured 114" from end of handle to end of net. I am taking this net up north to land 10-20lb Salmon and will update whether it does or does not survive the trip.
Update: Not sturdy enough for big Salmon. I ended up just using it to catch minnows and it served that purpose well.
MMB : A worthy net
This net is incredibly sturdy and easy to adjust. Folds up nicely for storage. This truly is a great deal—can’t believe what you get for the price!
Debs Stuff : Overall this was EXACTLY what I wanted! but one issue did crop up later....
I found it easy to use and light weight, and sturdy enough to scoop seaweed out of the water that weighed enough to be difficult to lift.
The downside... I live in a marine environment and expect metals to rot - what I did not expect was for the black powder coat to come off on my hands after a few months.
Scott : Great net for under 25 bucks!
The rubber netting is thinner than what you will find on more expensive name brand nets, but it is great for under 25 bucks! The telescoping handle is really sturdy, but the net hoop has some wiggle. that being said I think it will hold up to the weight of decent size fish and will serve the purpose I need just fine. For the money, I feel that it is a great value.
Jennifer VanFosson : Cheap, it broke the 3rd time we used it.
Don't buy this. It broke the 3rd time we used it...and now there is no option to return it
Debra A. : Get it
This is a great product. Large but light. Well made. Easily folds and unfolds. Perfect for a main go-to net or backup. Fits easily in rod box.
brodysdad : Cheap plastic/save your money
The idea of having a landing net that folds down is great. I bought this last year and just now pulled it out to use and It will not lock. Found the plastic ear broken. The lock collar and ears are made from cheap plastic.
Amazon Customer : Long Reach
Very nice net. Locking mechanism seems to work well. No slipping. Love the way it folds up to take up less room in my boat.
Palm Tree : Best net!
This net is one of my 6-year-old's favorite things! He uses it as a sein net, crab net, fish net, and minnow net. Its long handle is great for docks, and it is light weight. It is very durable. He has abused it for 9 months with no issues. The flat top is perfect for dragging on the bottom. I am at the beach now, and someone just came up to me and asked where she could get one for her kids. I highly recommend it.
Monica : Good quality and very long pole
I plan on using this to catch cats, and was hesitant to buy it, because in the picture it looks flimsy. I was worried it wouldn't be sturdy enough to hold a cat, but the pole seems very strong. I think it would hold a cat no problem. And the pole is very long, so it should have no problem reaching a cat in the sewer, or stuck up in a tree, or other hard to reach areas.

Dillon Cates : It is a solid piece of capture equipment that expert Anglers may find frustrations with.
I'm not of a fisher myself but I use nets like this to catch small animals from around my property and release them into the local wilderness and for that, the net performs suitably enough though I'm told by friends and family that for fish capture it is lacking in a proper amount net sag that could result in the fish thrashing enough to free itself from the net.
But for raccoons, stray cats, and the occasional skunk it holds up well and is remarkably durable to fangs and claws beyond what was its intended purpose I'm sure.
With the fact that aquatic creatures are not my target, I find this net to go well past its intended design and use.
Pat : Bird catcher
Using this to catch birds that get in the house and just sit on the upper windows. Also caught a moth that was way up high. Thought I’d write a review for this atypical application. Works fine.

K.J.M. : Compact net
Will up date review after I use it.
SixString : It's a nice net.
I purchased the model that extends up to 80". I had two reasons for purchasing this item. First - the old fishing net that I had was not foldable and it was a pain in butt to get in an out of the helm storage of our pontoon boat. This net is light and compact and easily fits in the helm storage area. Secondly, sometimes things like hats and the occasional flip-flop will go over board, so the length that it extends to makes it easier to retrieve any item from the water. The net itself is fairly well constructed. It was a little hard to open and close at first but you'll get the hang of it. I would trust it for scooping up fish that are up to a pound or two. As for landing a big fish while the net is fully extended to 80''s, I wouldn't recommend not trying to lift it fearing that it may bend or snap the pole. Rather I would net it and draw it back to you then you should be ok.
Hannah Lambert : Beautiful looking net and appears to be well designed
Beautiful looking net and appears to be well designed; however, the weak link is the join between the pole and the net. It's simply weak plastic. I would certainly appreciate my money back on this item as the third time I used this net, the fish broke the net from the pole. This net is very poorly designed as it won't hold up but for a few fishing outings. Very disappointed. I wonder if this net has any kind of warrant as I have only had it a few months!
HONU : The folding is awesome and I love the design
The folding is awesome and I love the design. I fish on Oahu here at Kaneohe Bay pier and I love the how light and easy to carry. I landed a hood size fish and it would be hard to lift the fish with just the pole without the fish coming off the hook. The net 3 sectional piece made possible to land the fish. So happy to have a net I can depend on to land the fish. THANK you... I would recommend this net to anyone that can't land a fish. Having to reach the fish before it comes off the hook is awesome. You'll Never loose a fish ever again.
Kevin Carnahan : Great net for walleye.
This is probably the best net I've use yet for walleye. I had my reservations but after using it I'm very pleased. Lightweight and once you get used to folding it up it takes up no room at all. It doesn't knock the fish off if you bump it with the end up the net. I'd buy another !
Patrick : The fish jump right into it! (Video)
The net came in about 10 mins before I was heading to the lake. I opened it up when I got to the boat and the entire concept of it was great! We had a great day and landed 9 northerns total - 3 over 5lbs.
My biggest disappointments are the cheap parts... I couldn't slide the net clip down to collapse it because the pole needed to be extended about .5" and screwed down right before the clip had enough room to pull it out, that and the cheap key ring that they put at the base of the net pulled right out.
I would order this net again with better quality parts and pay $60-70 for it in a heartbeat.
Pros: the concept, very small when storing, lightweight, can handle bigger fish and tiny holes for smaller, price is great.
Cons: some parts are very cheap, I don't think I'll get more than 1 season out of it with moderate use.
Overall: I'd say a great purchase. I am not disappointed one bit. I feel like If they ever make a better quality net with the same concept, it would be one of the best nets on the market for smaller vessels or fishermen on the banks.
Dolores : Folding Aluminum Fishing Landing Net
This need is great for fishing of docks with tides , not the strongest made but works great with some precaution's. After netting fish pull up handle vertical hand over hand so as not to stress pole handle. doing this I have brought up large channel cats to 15lbs at this time.
Fiktishes : Borderline 11
Everyone asks me where I got this from. They love how big it is and that we can reach over from a 6 foot peir and pull in a 10lb bass or catfish without worrying if it is going to brear. This neat is worth the money plus $20.
Annoco : defective
I ordered the Fiblink fishing landing net 45- 80 inch extextension. I received the model that only extened to 60 inches. In addition the net was defective. You could not fully open the net. The mechanism to open the net was defective and you could not open the net fully. I am returning it.
I. Seligman : Far better quality and size than I expected.
This is a keeper for someone who wants a nicely built net whose handle telescopes out to reach for fish, chickens or even frogs that are within its >8.5 feet of reach. |If you use some common sense bringing in your catch, you can safely land a 10 to 20 lb fish. If you don't use common sense, you can break the net/pole with just a 5 lb. fish, and blame the net, and not yourself for such failure.
So, when you get a fish within the net, bring the net and fish closer to you by pulling the long handle backwards, keeping the net and the heavy fish in the water, until the fish/net are close to you, rather than trying to lift your catch out of the water when it's furthest away from you. That's just putting less stress on the long handle.
The net is far bigger, wider and longer than I expected, and that's a good thing for a fisherman. I bought this for its long reach and telescoping down, to easily transport and store it. There are tradeoffs in having a telescoping and folding net, rather than a long, solid aluminum or steel handled net. Your choice.
To pack up the net, the net collapses by pushing on the plastic button at its base, and folding the net up. Then telescope the long handle to shorten it. Easy-peasy.
Treat the net with respect, and it could last a few years, depending on your use and talents as a fisherman and net user!
Ben : Excellent
This is a good sturdy net. It fits easily in my rod bag and can be deployed in 10 seconds once I get to the bank. Handy for fetching back floats and things that 'escape' from my line while casting.

Jennifer VanFosson : Cheap, it broke the 3rd time we used it.
Don't buy this. It broke the 3rd time we used it...and now there is no option to return it
Intel Junkie : Very flimsy and no complete loop of support
Too flimsy and requires extreme caution as one scoop can bend the frame. No metal on. Loop as it has two halves joined by net and can easily bend .
Mike : A good net...
For the most part, I had no problem landing big fish at a river bank using the full length. It was plenty strong, I used handed overhand going straight up when lifting the fish. One problem I had with one of the fish, it's top fin got stuck in the net. I had a heck of a time getting the net off the fish. The hook was fine, I was able to remove it from the fish, no net problem there. I don't think the net problem is significant but it's going to cause problems from time to time. I was very happy being able to land a fish that was a good distance below me. The various lengths is a plus. I also like its ability to fold up nice and compact, easy to travel with and carry!

VN Ranger : Great landing net
Had reservations about buying this net. Price seemed to inexpensive for this to be a quality net. Purchased it anyway and was very pleased to discover that it was a top quality fishing net. Love the way it breaks down. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Net and frame are sturdy and well made. Easy to carry and store. It's already my favorite landing net. I'd recommend it to anyone. You can buy it without trepidation. More than worth the price.
Bill Reed : Very pleased with this net.
I just received my landing net and have not tried it yet but I did extend it out just to get a feel of how heavy it was and I was surprised. I was hoping it would be a little lighter than it is but it will be fine. I have a friend that fishes Crappie Masters Trail and the ACC crappie trail tournaments and this is what he recommended since this is what he uses.
Don Le Claire : This is not the net your looking for
Ok, simply put EVERYTHING tangles in this NET, the net gets caught on everything. and every hook that gets near it will be stuck in the net (and you will cut the net or cut the hook) there is a border around the net near the frame when you stick a hook there YOU will cut the hook or damage the net.
JUST PASS ON THIS ONE
BengalzHacker : Didn't know the length included the net
I thought the handle length is all that was being spoken of in terms of being 60". My error.
I do love how small it folds up. If you have a bigger tackle box, this thing might actually fit in it.
The carry bag is great as well. My biggest complaint about my old net was that it was constantly getting caught up in my other tackle in transport. When in the bag, there's no chance that can happen. Time will tell how sturdy it is overall, but it feels good thus far.
Richard Winkel : Large size and folds up well
Looks very nice, larger than I had thought it would be, and seems solid while also being light. Folds up easily and telescopes without too much trouble. The bag that it came in was torn on the bottom, as other reviewers have mentioned. But it doesn't matter to me, I wasn't going to carry the net around in a bag anyway.
It's me in central Illinois : Not just for fishing
I don't know how it does for fishing, we use it to catch birds. We have chickens, Muscovy ducks, and guineas. My husband just got 30 chickens from a family that is having to move, and needed a home for their chickens. He took this along and it was so much easier catching the birds. We next plan on using it to get some guineas. There is someone who has about 30 or 40 guineas and they are too many for her to be able to feed for the winter. Guineas roost up high in the rafters of her barn, and with the telescoping pole, this will be long enough to reach up and catch each bird we plan to get.
MommaO : Great item
Love this pokes, saves me from stepping over boat to get fish. We just keep it on the boat. Perfect net
Seng Lee : Feel like the max fish lbs you can lift this thing ...
If you need to reach far then this is it. Lost one star because i feel the extension closes to the net feel whobbly when fully extended. Feel like the max fish lbs you can lift this thing fully extended is maybe 15 lbs. Lifted a 10lbs catfish and the front end handle started to arc. It was struggling a bit.
MMB : A worthy net
This net is incredibly sturdy and easy to adjust. Folds up nicely for storage. This truly is a great deal—can’t believe what you get for the price!

brodysdad : Cheap plastic/save your money
The idea of having a landing net that folds down is great. I bought this last year and just now pulled it out to use and It will not lock. Found the plastic ear broken. The lock collar and ears are made from cheap plastic.
Crystal Lee : Easily broken
The support between the net hoop and pole is plastic with roughly 0.5"x0.5" cross-section. This joint completely broke off during my second use of scooping up small bait fish on the dock. It didn't snag on anything. This is the weak joint in the design of the net.
maureen from Long Island : Great on dock and jetty
Dropped it off the dock and dove off to retrieve it. Nice quality.
Bill Mitchell : Super net when needed!! Fish saver at times!!
Turned out to be a lot bigger fish net than needed but it definitely gets the job done! The only bad thing I have found to be with the telescoping net is that mine will no longer reduce down to the smallest transporting size for some reason so it makes it difficult to take it with me every time. Just the right size net for my needs though and very well made. Very durable netting.
Blue : good
We use this net to catch birds that get stuck in our garage. The hummers go right through a bigger net. It works fine for that.
