Product reviews of BASSDASH American Saltwater Fishing Cast Net 3/8 1/4-Inch Mesh 4ft 6ft 8ft Radius, 1-Pound Per Foot, for Bait Fish with Utility Bucket Casting
T Nycole T : So far so good!
My husband is super excited about this bait cast net! He says it's way better then the one he had! The wrist cuff is comfortable and prevents him from accidentally tossing the hand line over and losing the net. It doesn't rub uncomfortably and makes it easy to hand reel the line back in. The handline is another great feature as it's almost 33 feet long. The mesh is quality and durable as well as the weights. It also has a convenient storage/transport bucket that's small and easy to tuck away for storage. Overall, I would but this again for sure as it seems to be great quality and very convenient!
marta ruiz : Excelent product ! Good quality
TOP !! Excelent product
Michael B. : Need a bigger net?
Sent to my Grand children who live on the coast and they just happened to need a bigger net so it was perfect. Easy to cast, weighted well and good combination of strength to weight. And the bucket is a nice bonus as it is a must have for rinsing and stowing.
jerry : Great net for the price
Great price works awesome. Just gave it 3 stars cause i wish lead line was real lead and not plastic coated steel
Randy Royall : Worst quality cast net I’ve ever seen !
This cast net has totally inferior monofilament mesh, the top ring is way too large and the high test attachment lines keep tangling up the net. Completely dissatisfied with your product!
KB Nic : Good quality
Used for shrimping.
roxycowgirl : Nice quality cast net with a lot of attention to detail
This Bassdash cast net is very reasonable for the quality delivered. There is nothing better than fresh regional live bait. We have bait traps, but take too long to attract and catch bait. That is why cast nets are crucial. There are lots of cheap ones on the market, and this Bassdash one stands above the crowd.
The first thing you may notice is that it is a great quality mono. If you are like me you might not. I think that fishing line is fishing line. Monofilament is a very durable synthetic nylon that is very expensive. My husband is a sport fishing captain and very peculiar about mono. I have raided his stash for art projects and then learned it was $1 a foot. He uses it for the leader to catch large game fish like marlins and swordfish. It is because it is very durable and less likely to break with all the thrashing and biting on the line. It doesn’t tangle easily and for the most part holds its shape. On the net it will be the thick clear line that runs down the center of the net. They could have used a cheaper inferior product, but went with premium mono instead.
The throwing line is nice as well. It feels lighter and cheaper than you would expect it to be and might think it is of poor quality, but it is not. It is a very durable braided plastic. It does not hold water like most and therefore doesn’t get moldy and rot. This extends the life of your net. At the end of your throw rope is a neoprene cuff. This is a quick easy way to ensure you don’t throw the throw rope and lose your net. Most nets I have used are just a loop that you use to secure it with your throw rope. That works fine, but the rope can cause irritation and rope burns around your wrist. The neoprene dries quickly and is comfortable against the skin. It is stretchy and fits a broad range of sizes.
The net is also durable and does well with sticks and junk. It has a small mesh that is capable of catching minnows. It is very efficient.
The part that really sets this cast net apart is the sink line. It is sewn in very tight to the mesh so there are no gaps that fish can escape. The weights are coated in plastic. This is a very nice feature when fishing out of a boat because it doesn’t scratch and mar your boat. It still sinks fast, but is just gentler on your boat and feet.
The net is functional and as easy as any cast net is to throw. I have not yet mastered it, but my husband has no problems and is very successful. It comes with a bucket that has a tight fitting lid for convenience. It is compact enough that it fits nicely under the console of our center console boat. You can skip the trip to the bait shop once you master this net. We have found that the minnows live longer if we put them in a bait cage and tie it off outside the boat. It is a great quality net for the experienced and beginner. It works well thrown from the shore or a boat. It is made with durable materials and should last a long time. I think the price is very fair based on the quality. This is a few things I have gotten from the company Bassdash and have yet to be disappointed. They seem to put a lot of emphasis on quality and is becoming a trusted brand for me.
John Cole : Just as advertised.
Just as advertised.
J. D. Robinson : Reliable and Lightweight
My husband needed a new cast net for picking up bait fish when we went lake fishing and selected this net. He found this to be a reliable and sturdy net, with no surprises or problems. It is easy to throw and easy to haul back. It's been out several times now and is still good as new. He said the biggest obstacle is remembering when to release for the best cast.
The bucket provided is great for storing your bait when you're fishing, and great for storing the net when you are done. He has a lot of fishing, hunting, and farming equipment and tools, and I always appreciate it when these items have a clearly labeled and sturdy box or container for storage and easy retrieval. Recommended!
fifth primogenitor : 6 foot is a strongman workout
I purchased the 6 footer. As such, I can only speak on this product. The monofilament line aids in the durability. However, the weight difference between a 4 foot, 3/8 nylon mesh versus a 6 foot, 1/4 monofilament mesh is quintessential. In essence, I tried “hulk smashing” the throws and discovered
“technique and muscle strength are requisites for complete net openings.”
…. more so for the 6 foot than 4 foot

basic net stretches more than expected, lines twist up quite a bit. but once you get those issues worked out throws good and catches bait.

AL Beek : Seems fairly well made
The quarter inch 4 foot seems fairly well made for the price, but it sinks a bit too slowly for my needs in 15 feet of water. Probably due to the finer mesh. I’d buy again, but I’d get the 3/8 inch instead.
Steve : Great product.
Got it with no damage and i really like the weight on it.
Trusted Customer : Best Casting Net
This is the best casting net I ever had. It sinks so fast, so fish can't get out. Came with a bucket is a plus. I'm 5'5" and 8ft is perfect for me. It is very good buy for the money. Highly recommend!
Youtube captainhook'd fishing : Love my Cast Net
Got my BASSDASH Cast Net and went to practice. Within a few minutes I had it down pretty well. Very durable, lightweight and easy to use. Saves me money at the Bait Store. Highly recommend.
Erica K : AWESOME
Got this for a camping trip gift for my son. I swear this thing will pull anything out of water. Great purchase!
James A. Nichols : Works pretty well
Throw net works pretty well. Does take some practice to get thrown just right. Decent quality
Alyssa Yoder : Best cast get we’ve owned!
We live in Florida and LOVE to fish so we go through a ton of cast nets, but I think this will take the cake! We’ve used it a handful of times and compared to the ones we’d always get at Walmart or somewhere in town, this one is stronger and the mesh size is perfect for catching even small baitfish. The weights are perfect and it sinks very well and evenly and it’s easy for my husband and I to throw correctly almost every time. I 100% recommend this net for bait!
