How are the gloves?

What is that little stone thing that is common in these sets?

Answer: It is a knife sharpener. This set has a good variety of blade legenths and the 9" blade in particular. I find the flexibility a benefit when fileting a wide fish that is not too thick as the flex allows you kind of glide over bones once you have sharpened your knife with enclosed sharpener. Excellent knives w/scaler- cleaning knife.

Answer: It's suppost to be a hand cleaner but it doesn't work. Knives were dull when I used them.

Great for bait fish and most fish. Not as great for thicker scaled fish no matter how long you use the sharpener

I will use these knives for salmon next season. They appear to be good quality and sharp as heck.

Took the knives out of the package to use them and they are about as dull as a butter knife. I know it comes with a sharpener but they still should have been nice and sharp out of the package. Used the sharpener and it put a decent edge on them, but they have to be put on the fine stone to properly sharpen them. Overall quality is good, they fit nice in your hand the fillet knives are thin and flexible which is a plus. I would buy them again if they guaranteed the sharpness right out of the package. The reason I put 4 stars for ergonomic is for the bait knife. It has two blades one a fine serrated and a course serrated but there is only one finger groove for the fine side when you flip it to the course side it fits slightly awkward in your hand. Hey for 24 bucks its not a bad package of cheap beat around knives.

This is a great fish cleaning set for the price! The inclusion of a sharpener and a stainless steel odor remover for your hands is a real plus. Some reviewer‘s have critiqued the seas for not holding the knives tightly. When I inspected the knives and sheets they have two positions. For pulling the knife in and out frequently while cleaning the fish, You can put the knife loosely back in the sheath. For putting the knife away between uses if you plunge the knife deeper into the sheath it will click in place and be held securely so that it won’t fall out while moving around. I look very forward to cleaning a lot of fish with these knives!

These knives are sharp and functional. The glove is useful to protect your hand from the blades. The only problem I have is with the sheaths. They are hard plastic and the knives do not fit securely in the sheaths. The handles are plastic as well with nothing to make them slip resistant.
