Answer: Yes in the manual it states - "ATTENTION! Do not run the appliance for more than 24hours in one single use. After 24 hours. Unplug and let it cool down for at least 2 hours before operating again."

Answer: I’m not sure what features you’re trying to compare but I’ve had mine for a few years now and it does the job super well. I wish you could control the temperature a little better tho. It is limited to preset settings which I dislike (113, 122, 131, 140, 149, 158 and 167.
Answer: I have had a small round dehydrator and used a square larger one and this dehydrator, the Samson Silent is by far better than the other two I tried. It dries evenly and in about the same amount of time if not sooner. It is not as noisy as the other two were either.

Answer: The actual trays are indeed all stainless steel. Included are optional BPA free plastic tray liners, but there is no need to use them if you do not want to.

Answer: This one beats the other by a mile. My buddy had a Magic Mill unit that (previously) impressed me in it's ability to process 5 lbs of venison jerky in a 12 hour dry time. When I received the Samson Silent I was astounded that it could dry 11 pounds in 4 hours!

Answer: The liners that came with mine are a semi-flexible clear plastic, molded into about as fine a mesh as it's possible to make that way. I'm not sure what to compare it to. The openings are smaller than those in a sheetmetal colander, but larger than those in an all-purpose wire strainer. The liners fit flat into the trays, but they will warp a bit with use.

I loved it when I first got it, however, I’m very disappointed it DID NOT LAST EVEN 6 months. I bought this is March of this year and used it 2-3 times per week, and it’s completely dead. It isn’t been a good 5 months.

Great. Glad I bought a dehydrator with more shelves. It’s amazing how the trays fill once you get going. And it allows you to remove every other shelf if doing kale chips which tend to be “taller” sitting on the shelf. Love that it’s stainless steel and has timer and heat variability. Great value for money.

Love the stainless construction. Simple and easy to use. No assembly required, just put the trays in and turn it on. First time to use it I dried 10 lbs. of ground venison jerky and only use 8 of the 10 trays. Was impressed with how well each tray dried evenly, no need to constantly rearrange trays. I use the BPA free inserts and only had to clean them when finished. Only used it once but so far I'm really impressed. Great value for the money.

I am very impressed with the Samson"Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator - Digital Controls - Glass Door. Its very beautiful. Stainless steel trays and nonstick plastic insert trays for smaller items. This dehydrator is indeed very quiet. It sits in my kitchen on a counter where I run it all day. The noise is not the least bit annoying. Its very quiet. Its easy to use. I like the low temperatures (95 degrees) that you can dehydrate with. The controls are easy to figure out. There is only on thing that I have a suggestion for the manufacturer. There is a beep (not loud) that sounds at the end of the dehydrating session. It beeps 20 times! I have found no way to silence it nor turn it off. I don't need this feature but since its in my kitchen. I can live with this as I love the Samson"Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator - Digital Controls - Glass Door.

I have a 9 tray Excalibur dehydrator that I have used for years but always had to use it at night or when we were not going to be home because I had no where to use it but our kitchen and it was so loud. I bought this dehydrator with the hope that it would be able to be used whenever I wanted to and I have been able to do that! It really is super quiet and often we don't even know it's running. I love that it is stainless steel, has a door that swings open, and has stainless steel trays. It has definitely been worth the cost.

If they could some how cut the drying time down to 1 to 2 hours instead of 5 or 8 hours of drying time. It would be god sent machine on future model. All and all, it is a good buy.

I studied every dehydrator on Amazon and other sites for hours. I wanted stainless steel. This came well packed so no damage, impressive. It is Huge and could easily do 20 lbs of jerky. I had 6 lbs and it sparingly filled 4 of the 10 trays. It worked quietly and very efficiently! I studied videos and suggested about 6 hours at around 168 degrees. I stopped it at 4.5 hours and most was perfect. I picked out the pieces with a lot of fat and did another 90 minutes at 158. I’m learning but this 1st batch is really good ????. We love it and very happy with the quality of this product! And the only one I found that comes with a 5 year warranty! I highly recommend it.

It's pretty big. It can hold more food than I plan to dehydrate at once so this was probably more than I needed. The size does however make it possible to use it as a proof box for 1 or 2 loaves of bread. I saw some complaints that it didn't reach the FDA safe temp of 160 for jerkey. I haven't tested if this is the case, but it should come close to it. It dehydrated meat very well within 4 hours. If you're concerned for food safety it should be fine to take meat out a little earlier and put it in the oven at a higher temp for a few minutes to sterilize it.
I didn't have any problem with the noise. It's about as loud as a small fan. The timer is set in 30 minute intervals up to 24 hours. It's recommended that after 24 hours you allow it to cool before using it again. So this won't be good if you're planning to dehydrate continuously over several days.
Cleaning the racks is as much a hassle as I imagined and it takes some time for them to air dry. I reccomend using silicone bake sheets to minimize cleaning. You can go cheap and order a large roll that you just cut into shape or buy the more expensive reusable ones.

The Samson Dehydrator is awesome! I searched a ton of brands and models looking for ALL STAINLESS STEEL body and parts, 7" horizontal fan, frontal controls and a hinged front door i could see through. I found it all in Samson. The only draw back...size is too large for my kitchen so I had to put it in a cupboard I have in the breezeway. I ran a load of foods on the first day.
I dehydrated 7 onions and 1 lrge pkg of mushrooms all in one load. They all dried in half the time of my smaller dehydrator. The unit is so quite I can hardly hear it.
Don't know about longevity yet but unit appears very well made. Did I mention it is big?

Jasper : I love it that it is stainless steel. Even the racks inside are stainless! The temperature goes higher than other brands.
Best features: Stainless Steel and easy to clean, Runs quiet, constructed well, and I love the glass door. I also love how it looks and it fits very well on counter top. It arrived quickly. The temp goes high enough to safely do jerky where as some other brands will only go to 155 degrees. Negatives: The temp and time settings are very basic. I could'nt get the temp to run at 135 degrees and had to do 140 but maybe I misread instructions. The time feature will not allow to go under 30 minutes which really is not a problem and the digital buttons are also extremely sensitive. I think that I like knobs to turn instead of buttons. People may complain about the cost being higher but this is a stainless steel machine with quality stainless steel racks which other brands often have plated chrome, so the costs should be expected. It would have been helpful to have a better informed booklet with tips on dehydrating. I ran my first batch of apple slices right after I cleaned and ran the 30 minute pre-run. Apple slices turned out just how I had hoped. This is a super quality machine. I don't understand why people would complain about it warming up a room. -Of course it will heat up your room! It is like having a heater blowing so people should expect some heat to come out of any dehydrator! I love it.

This Samson"Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator is pretty good. It is half of the price of those big brand name dehydrators. It does the same job as those expensive brand name dehydrators. If they could some how cut the drying time down to 1 to 2 hours instead of 5 or 8 hours of drying time. It would be god sent machine on future model. All and all, it is a good buy.

If you're a true raw vegan, then this machine will be an ideal size for you. It allows to make several different foods at the same time to save time. This is our first dehydrator, so have nothing to compare it to. It's not too loud, but it is definitely not "silent'. We have an open kitchen, so the 7-hour noise is a problem.

This isn't my first dehydrator, but won't buy this or recommend this one. You can adjust time in increments BUT the temp can only be adjusted in 9-degree increments. The highest is 158 and go down by nine degrees...nothing in between. Temp seems way off. A food that takes 12-18 hours was in 24 and just seemed warm, no where near dried. Put in another 12 at a very high temp. Still not happy. I have till the 31st to return and seriously considering because not happy at all.

I will not be using it too frequently, but the two times I've used it so far produced excellent jerky. Let me tell you, this thing is capacious! The second time I made jerky, I cut up a 3.5 pound eye of round and only used 3 trays! From that I take it I could put in over 12 pounds of meat at once! The warranty provided looks very good, too, but I hope I never have to use it.

I researched dehydrators for a while before I setteled on this one.
I have had this unit for 3 months now and it has run continuasley.
It does a great job of drying evenly. The unit has great air flow plus it looks great.
When its running it makes the garage smell so good!

I loved it when I first got it, however, I’m very disappointed it DID NOT LAST EVEN 6 months. I bought this is March of this year and used it 2-3 times per week, and it’s completely dead. It isn’t been a good 5 months.
Jasper : I love it that it is stainless steel. Even the racks inside are stainless! The temperature goes higher than other brands.
Best features: Stainless Steel and easy to clean, Runs quiet, constructed well, and I love the glass door. I also love how it looks and it fits very well on counter top. It arrived quickly. The temp goes high enough to safely do jerky where as some other brands will only go to 155 degrees. Negatives: The temp and time settings are very basic. I could'nt get the temp to run at 135 degrees and had to do 140 but maybe I misread instructions. The time feature will not allow to go under 30 minutes which really is not a problem and the digital buttons are also extremely sensitive. I think that I like knobs to turn instead of buttons. People may complain about the cost being higher but this is a stainless steel machine with quality stainless steel racks which other brands often have plated chrome, so the costs should be expected.
