Answer: They make a size for the key chain approx 4gm weight. The 12 gm weight that you are considering may be too large.

Answer: Yes. I have it on my keychain. I sleep with my keys in my nightstand. And the keys with the mace are very near me at all times no matter where I am

Answer: Personally think alittle big for key chain. Smaller one is about 2/3 size so would be perfect for key chain

Answer: Sorry for not trying it out. I would like to save it for emergency use. From customer reviews, you can see someone videotyped the way they tested it. It seems ok.

Answer: Don’t know. Never used it. Tested it and couldn’t get it to spray; just a weak trickle. Threw it away.

Answer: It is meant for Humans, but since Dogs have real sensitive noses, i would imagine it would be somewhat effective. I know someone that has one and she says she uses it for the dogs that comes at her while on her walks.

Answer: Now my understanding of the self defense video's that I've watched, for mace or pepper spray you want to spray it side to side, to make a broader barrier between you and a potential attacker. I personally had a person that was walking ahead of me, without thinking test their canister. To say the least, it was very strong, even though there was about 10-15 feet distance between us and I was pretty upset at the time! I believe these are better than stun guns and carry one myself. I hope this helps?

I carry it at the city linear park in my every day walking since I received the product. It is very easy to hold and have a lid to protect from accidentally press the button. I have never used it, so I can not say if it works. I can only hope at the moment when I am least expected happens, it will work to protect me and my doggy.

My biggest issue is that it's not as quick to axcess and spray as you have to have it perfectly aligned so that you can flip the cover and then spray. And if you have slightly long nails it's even more difficult to access. Other then that it works great.
