Does this scale record peak force? How?

Answer: Yes, compare with digital scale. I choice this spring scale not just for it not afraid to fall into the lake, but for it can record peak force.

Answer: It does. There’s a little plastic marker that is pulled down by the weight and then manually reset. I’ll add that this scale is useless for anything less than 5 pounds. Doesn’t record it at all.

Answer: For me I like to be able to remove it at times , it arrive secure but loosens very soon especially once it gets wet

Just got mine, is the rod on top supposed to slide out, mine does and it seems like a defect?

Answer: The " T " rod on top does slide out of mine , it's not a defect ,and you can easily keep it in place with a little tape wrapped on each side

R. Mayer : Great scale, but design flaw caused it to break on 3rd use. A simple mod makes it a 5 though

I used this scale to check the tongue weight on my motorcycle trailer to keep it between 20 and 30 lbs. I loved the scale and would've given it a 5-star rating, BUT, on my 3rd use (the very day after the Amazon return window closed) the weight indicator broke off. What happened is, that I used the convenient T-bar to hold the scale while I weighed the trailer tongue. There is a hanging loop on top of the scale that fell down in front of and below the little plastic weight indicator. Not paying close attention to that design flaw, I then put weight on the hook as normal. As soon as weight was applied, the plastic weight indicator hit the hanging loop and broke right off. In the first picture, you don't see the weight indicator because it's now gone. No way to read the scale now, so it's worthless. Interestingly, if you look at the 2nd picture, the hanging loop, when flipped to the back, is designed not to hit the scale shaft. It should be designed to NOT hit the front of the scale, instead of not hitting the back. Had that loop been reversed, it could not have contacted the weight indicator and snapped it off. Had that not happened, I would have given it a 5-star rating, but now I'm out a scale and need to find another somewhere.
UPDATE 10-15-19: Even though the Amazon return date had just expired, I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one immediately. See Seller Review for details of awesome customer service and the modification I made to prevent this from happening again...now making this a 5 instead of a one. The 3rd picture is of the mod where I unclipped the loop on top of the new one and reversed it so that it can no longer come in contact with the weight indicator. NOW, with that little mod, and the great customer service, I rate it a 5, for sure!

This scale weighs everything about 30% too light. A 10 lb fish "weighs" 7 lbs on this scale. Maybe their other ones work better, but this one doesn't

Followed another reviewer's suggestion to turn the top handle around and prevent issues and it has been a great scale. Not for weighing crappie super accurately, but more for things in the 8-40lb range. I don't care if a bass weighs 3 lbs or 4, but I do care if a big catfish weighs 35 lbs or 43. This fills that role perfectly. No batteries needed, and feels nice and durable. Highly recommended for fishermen and small game hunters. Use a kitchen scale at home to weigh anything under 5 lbs.
