Answer: Yes. The bags are re-sealable for every day use! However we do not recommend that they be washed and reused because it might compromise the ability to create a proper vacuum.

Why when using this product do the bags and the containers frequently lose suction? I know I’m using it correctly. Happens regardless of food type.
Answer: Use only Foodsaver bags and make sure zippered seal is tight. If any food gets in zippered area, it will leak air. On of our containers would lose suction every other time, after a few dishwasher cleanings and a few weeks of use, all is good and we haven't had any more leaks. Just checked about 50 bags we out up 2 months ago with dry goods and no leaks. Good luck. It really is a good unit.
Answer: I was having the same problem, but I placed the bag on the counter and pressed the vacuum seal closed then aligned the hole on the bag with the base (looks like a star) and slide the head down and hit the start button. I made sure it was completely sealed. I hope this helps!
Answer: I am not sure why it happens but it does sporadically. I have found that the seal needs to be clean and free if anything. If not then it will loose its seal. That is about the only time it does with me. Maybe 10% of the time.

Answer: We have both units, one @ home which is the more expensive 110 volt one & the less expensive portable rechargeable battery one for the RV and they both work good but notice the 110 volt seems to seal faster. Time will tell which one is better $ vise as it has been a little over a month for both.
Answer: I have a handheld rechargeable one and it sucked. We could only use it a couple of uses and stopped working. It either wouldn't charge enough to even seal 1 bag.

Whatever I didn't use I would cut to ready-to-cook size and save in FoodSaver bags. Thawed out a year later they were like you just cut them. Also, we grew a lot of string beans and put them up the same way. I found a bag in the bottom of the freezer that was 7 years old and they were still fine! Eliminating the air space and the moist air that was in it stops freezer burn from ever happening.

Answer: The Foodsaver Fresh appliance is for the refrigerator and I love it. It extends the life of anything you seal in these bags --I am not a fan of the containers. For lunch meats and cheeses, they extend the life of food because it works like the Foodsaver freezer bags. However, these bags are like zip-loc bags and you can open and then reseal them. By taking the air out of the bags, it is like buying them vacuum packed. These also work great for fruit and vegetables. Apples do not turn brown when cut up and sealed in these bags. Hope this helps.

It’s current in goodwill box. To me , it’s awkward for doing the reseal bags (which only reseal about 3 or 4 times before they fail). Love the vacuum seal ones! Very disappointed in resealable options.

We couldn't figure out how to keep them fresh until we came upon the idea of "sealing" them with our Food Saver countertop system. It's amazing how long they stay fresh by doing this. Answer: While I'm not sure which model is best I would make this suggestion. If you will be storing items in bags and NOT using the entire contents at one time I would use this model with the resealable bags. You can use what you need then reseal it and extract the air. If it is something you will use in it's entirety then I would use one of the models where you can customize the bag size. A bit pricier but maybe in the long run more economical if you aren't one to reuse your storage bags. If you do reuse your storage bags I would say this model would be good if the quart or gallon size bags are what you need.

I have the regular vacuum unit downstairs.... good vacuum in general, some vegetables require resealing, assuming due to gases etc from vegetables. For most foods, I just make sure rims clean and dry, push down on all 4 corners as you seal. Most things, other than a few fresh vegetables, seal and hold until I open, overall, works really well on Bags and containers.

Answer: I don’t know the wattage. However, it kept cracking Foodsaver containers & ruining them. I threw this away after months of fighting with FoodSaver company. Since that time (about 1 year ago) most of the MANY containers I had have failed & gradually hit the garbage. I will stick with the bags & my full counter top Foodsaver vac system.

Answer: It does not work with the large food saver machine.

Answer: I don't think so - I didn't get any home/lid attachments. Look into the FoodSaver Hand Held product (FM2100), but it has to be used with their countertop sealing system and I don't know how it works or what is included.
Answer: As far as I can tell it only works with the new clear containers and zip bags. My Mason jar adapter has a hose that need to be connected to the aux port on the vacuum sealer

What a time and cost saver. I have probably saved twice it’s cost alone, in cheese. The counter footprint is so small I leave it out in my tiny kitchen all the time. I was so impressed and thankful, that I purchased this machine for all my adult kids last Christmas. Lunch meats, cheese, chopped veggies...it does it all in seconds and conveniently. I have a really fine large food saver that I have used for quite some time, but it is heavier, bulky and must be inconviently stored away. Pks. are somewhat expensive, but reuseable.

This works great. Since I cook for one I can't use up a whole bottle of sauce or package of veg. I freeze sauces in silicone ice cube trays, pop them out when frozen then seal them and stick them back in the freezer. I can take out just what I need and reseal the rest for later. I freeze lemon juice the same way, and salsa. I've kept a bag of power greens fresh for over two weeks in the larger hard container. It's a big help and money saver if you're cooking for one. I really like the small foot print. I keep it a corner of the counter next to my fridge so it's handy to reseal something quickly. I live at 4500 ft and my previous vacuum sealer didn't work well at that altitude. This one works fine.

I love how well this thing works and how easy it is to just keep handy on the counter top because it doesn't take up much room. I use it daily with both the containers and the bags. I have a big sealer with rolls of bags you can make to size but it's such a pain to drag out and use. This sealer is in use with the resealable bags and containers multiple times a day!! The bags and containers are an investment to be sure but it's a winning combination and well worth it.

This think is great. I have lived alone for most of my life and have been through several foodsavers. I often loan mine to other singles in my group. This one is really cool with the containers for soft items. I bought two sets of the containers and they are always being used. They work really well with keeping fresh herbs in the fridge. Guac also lasts a lot longer and does not oxidize as badly (it comes in a container which I put into the food saver container. This one is super easy to use and takes up little space on the counter so it can stay out. I still use my big one for some things, but this one gets a daily workout.
Some people have said they had problems with the containers sealing. I did find that sometimes I had to press down on the corners of the container while it was in the machine to get the green spot to dimple. But normally they work just fine for me.

I love how easy this product is to use and the convenience of resealing when I need too. I ordered the extra containers and the large rectangular container does not work properly. I finally got it to seal, but it did not hold. When I went to get the item out of the refrigerator that I had stored in it, it was not under pressure.

I rarely do reviews on products but this one I will. There is nothing to dislike about any of the FoodSaver products I don’t know why it took me so long to purchase one. I have the larger one which I use almost daily I purchased it many years ago for vegetables and meats. No freezer burn ever I have purposely kept a pkg of vegetables for years to see how long they would be good. I don’t think they would spoil or taste freezer burn ever. This one is just as valuable I don’t think you could go wrong purchasing any of the FoodSavers if used correctly you will get years of good food without anything spoiling.

I stopped using it and found a better way for me. I just use cheap, snack size (3.25” x 6.5”) baggies for my portions, roll out the air & seal them, then put them inside a standard Ziploc type of freezer bag. I can usually put several portions of an item in one freezer bag, then I roll out that air. Done! Very easy to do. Very easy to extract my daily portion & re-roll. No noise. No machinery. About the same freezer life.
I don’t reuse the snack baggies, but do reuse the freezer bags until they’ll no longer seal well.

I don't write reviews often but am so pleased with this that I need to . I debated about buying a larger, more expensive food saver and am really glad I did not. I am one person and find that food spoils often because I do not use it in time. This counter top food saver really sucks all of the air out of the bags, and I assume the canisters as well, but you can't really see it. It is ridiculously easy to use. Like others have stated, the containers are hard to open once vacuumed, but I used the trick one reviewer posted and stick a spoon lightly under the rubber seal and it opens right up. Its small and sits on the counter so I use it like any other counter top utensil without the need to store it after each use. Very pleased with this purchase. UPDATE: still works great but not nearly as well on moist food. I now know why some food savers have a moist food setting. Also, it is VERY loud, didn't think it would matter to me but its so loud that I wonder if it bothers the neighbors in the next apartment. The canister stopped working after about a month. All in all for the price, a great product.

I have bags and storage boxes that I use this for and it seals everything perfectly every time. It has a slightly raised platform on its base. You line up the circle in the bag or the oval on top of the box there and lower the head. A green light comes on when the connection is made and you can leave the rest to the Saver. I've used various other kids of savers and this one beats them all. Lately, its even beating my Game Saver. I haven't noticed any lag with quantity of seals, or any failed seals later. It is becoming my best friend. You will not regret the money spent on this one. Don't waste your money working your way up to this saver. Just buy and love it.

I wish I didn’t wait so long to breakdown and buy this! I use mine every single day. Works perfectly. Love the containers and baggies.
