Questions about Gourmia GFD1950 Premium Electric Food Dehydrator Machine - Digital Timer and Temperature Control - 9 Drying Trays - Perfect for Beef Jerky, Herbs, Fruit Leather - BPA Free - Black
Q:
Is the fan located at the back (rear) of the unit or on top? Different reviewers indicate different locations for the fan? Also, how noisy is it?
Answer: The fan is located at the back of the unit. It runs very quiet. I was surprised at how quiet it was. Dehydrators that we have used in the past were so loud and noisy. I am really pleased with this product.
Answer: The fan is located in the back of the unit. Its actually not that noisy at all.
Answer: Ok I am confused .. four people responded to this question. Two people said the fan was on top, and two said it was on the back of the unit. So what is it ? Or maybe are two fans ?
Answer: The fan is on top. It makes a humming noise. I don't think it is very loud. You can hear it and in the same room it could be distracting.
Answer: Fan is in the back, exhaust is on the top. People are confusing the two.
Answer: By the description, it looks like it has an intake fan in the back and exhaust fan on the top.
Answer: The fanis on top and it is really quiet too. I hope that this helps.
Q:
there are so many! how do i know which is best?
Answer: I know....but we took a chance on the Gourmia, after reading the reviews, and are very pleased! Good luck!
Answer: I felt the same way. I read all kinds of reviews and ended up with this one. I didn't want to go with the most expensive/biggest models for our first one. This works great and we have had nothing but good luck with it
Answer: YOU PICK THE NUMBER OF TRAYS OR SIZE YOU NEED THEN YOU PICK THE LOWEST PRICE. THAT'S IT. IF THE ONE YOU GET DOSEN'TWORK RIGHT AMAZON WILL TAKE IT BACK THEN YOU ORDER THE NEXT LOWER COST ONE. THESE HAVE A PLACE FOR FOOD AND A COVER TO KEEP OUT DIRT & BLOW WARM AIR OVER THE FOOD THE'RE ALL THE SAME
Q:
Does it come with a user guide? Mine doesn't have one. Thanks!
Answer: Yes, it comes with a owners manual which shows functions and maintenance of the dehydrator. It also came with a small 10 page recipe book..
Answer: No it does not come with one. All you have to adjust is the time and temperature for the meat you are dehydrating. And I basically learned how to use it from Beef Jerky Recipes from the net. Its pretty much set it and forget it kinda machine. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes it does if you didn't get one, I downloaded mine as well as the sad recipe book that came with it from the Gourmia Website. http://www.gourmia.com/
Answer: Ours did , not a lot of help though
Q:
Are the plastic trays BPA free?
Answer: Are the plastic trays BPA free?
Answer: How is this product being verified as BPA free? I just received it for Christmas and it says nowhere on the box or in the manual that it is BPA free.
Answer: I am very upset to find out this item actually has a harmful chemical know to cause cancer. The manual has two big WARNINGS in the SAFETY FIRST section (page 7) which state that "this product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer." And another warning that states that "this product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm."
Answer: Anything in california has warnings of cancer and i do mean anything because that is how california is.
Answer: yes
Q:
Can you get replacement trays for this model
Answer: Yes we keep a limited supply. Contact us at Gourmia.com or 888-552-0033.
Q:
what is the wattage
Answer: I believe 600 watts.
Q:
How big are they trays?
Answer: 12" x 13"
Answer: 12"x12"
Q:
do you use parchment paper for things that could fall through or are there mesh trays?
Answer: The trays would only allow very small items to fall through. I would think you could use parchment paper with food that small. I have only used mine for venison jerky and the trays worked fine.
Answer: Parchment paper should work. There are reusable mats available, I have used these when drying berries or making spicy chickpeas; they are also useful to make fruit leathers.
Answer: You can use parchment paper and it will not call through. The openings on the tray aren't that big since its meant to hold meats and cut up fruit.
Answer: It comes with one mesh cover for a tray.
Q:
Are the trays dishwasher safe?
Answer: Yep. I scrub them off in the sink (if its sticky) then put them in the dishwasher.
Q:
Does it work if I plug it in to the 220V ?
Answer: No-uses 110 volt 60 hz.
Answer: Yeah it actually cuts the drying time in half.
Q:
Why is it taking so long to ship?
Q:
I see it has a timer. Does the timer simply ring when done or does the dehydrator automatically shut off for you?
Answer: Hi Jennifer,
Answer: Hi Jennifer, thanks for checking out our product.
Answer: It does both,
Q:
Can I make crunchy veggie chips with this?
Answer: you should have no problem making crunchy veggie chips. I have only made beef jerky and dried some parsley & basil.
Answer: Yes, just run it a little longer to you liking.
Answer: yes
Q:
Is there a way to purchase a door replacement?
Answer: I do not know but I wouldn't be surprised if you call manufactioner
Q:
How easy is it to put the trays in a dishwasher?
Answer: very easy, now don't forget they are plastic so don't use high heat dry, I wash them by hand in the sink then run them with hot water in the dishwasher. I own two of these now and I'm a clean and sterile freak due to homebrewing and making persevered foods. Hope this helps ya, sanitization is a very big factor in home brewing and dehydrating
Answer: Very easy, just turn off the heat dry.
Answer: I didn’t use the dishwasher. I soaked them on hot water and dish soap them scrubbed them clean.
Answer: I wouldn't put them in the dish washer in fear of making them brittle. But if you wanted to, just slide them in if they fit. I'm not sure what you would find difficult.
Answer: Not hard, but it is better to wash by hand
Q:
So my jerky is supposed to be cooked at 165 so many are set to only go to 158 ? Help please
Answer: It only goes to 158 but their directions say after the required time, to remove jerky and put into a preheated 250-275 degree Oven for 10 mins and then return to dehydrator trays to cool completely. Hope this is helpful.
Q:
Where’s the fruit roll tray? Because fruit roll trays shouldn’t have holes in them right?
Answer: It does not come with fruit leather trays. You can purchase them separately. It does come with a plastic drip tray for the bottom but that wouldn't work very well for fruit leather.
Answer: It comes with a solid tray also for fruit rolls
Answer: Mine came with only the 1 tray with tiny holes and no fruit trays. I believe they can be purchased separately
Answer: On mine it was the top tray. It looks different than the rest.
Answer: doesn't the tray need holes to circulate the hot air?
Answer: Some people use plastic wrap, but I bought silicone mats that fit the trays well enough.
Q:
Has anyone tested the accuracy of the temperature settings with a thermometer?
Q:
Does this product dry milk?
Answer: Sorry, I haven’t try dry milk yet!
Answer: That, I do not know. I've only used beef and fruit.
Answer: No it doesn't
Answer: Not to my knowledge
Q:
Where can I get more fruit leather trays??
Answer: You can buy them (and everything else) on Amazon. I purchased the bright kitchen edge trays in 12" x 13" and am very happy with them.
Answer: On Amazon
Q:
Can i use this with a heavy duty extension cord?
Answer: The dehydrator is 600 watts so as long as the extension cord is rated for such then yes. A heavy duty extension cord would work just fine.
Answer: At 600 watts it should be safe to use with a heavy duty extension cord.
Answer: The electrical cord on the dehydrator only has a 2-prong plug.
Answer: Yes that will work fine.
Answer: i think so
Q:
What are the preset temperature ranges? I know the entire range is 95-158, but what are the range of each individual preset option?
Answer: 95, 104, 113, 122, 131, 140, 149, 158 degrees
Q:
is it applicable for 220V Plug?
Answer: It is labeled for only 120 volt, 60 hz, 400 watts.
Answer: No. 110v only
Q:
is it very loud ?
Answer: does not seem overly loud to me
Answer: I gave it to my son. He is amazed by it. it's speed, ease of use. I do not believe it is loud, I believe he would have told me. I have to say he makes the best jerky ever now!
Answer: Personally, no, I don't think it is very loud. You can hear that it is running, but not loud and obnoxious.
Answer: No. Not at all. Just a quiet whirring of the fan.
Answer: No
Q:
Are trays dishwasher safe?
Answer: I do believe they are not, I havent used mine in a while but I had to wash by hand.
Answer: I don't know i hand wash them
Q:
How many watts is this unit
Answer: 480 watts. Get this dehydrator you won't regret it. Love mine.
Answer: Sorry, I don't know. My son has it and works great for him, but that doesn't answer your question.
Q:
how long do i dehydrate mango for and what temp
Answer: Spread mango slices over dehydrator trays. Set temperature somewhere between 135 – 145 Fahrenheit and dry for about 12-14 hours or until you have the desired consistency.
Q:
What mesh sheets and solid sheets fit in this if I wanted to buy more
Answer: Better go their site for specific trays. The dimensions of the tray is 12"x13".
Answer: I think they are all standard size
Q:
Can this unit be used to make deer jerky
Answer: Yes it can
Answer: Never tried, fortunately I am a vegetarian
Q:

Answer: aprox 30 de ancho por 45 de largo aprox
Q:
i have a ronco and the racks are plastic and after a few weeks the racks started crystallizing and falling apart from the heat. how do these racks do
Answer: I use my dehydrator 2 to 3 times per week for about 3 months now. So far no problem with the racks or machine. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and I have no hesitation in recommending the product. Best one I've owned so far (3rd unit in about 3 years, first time with this company).
Answer: The racks on these are plastics too.
Answer: Yes shelves are plastic but I have used this machine all summer and have had not any issue with the shelving. I just wish they cam with smaller screens. Other wise I am very happy with the product thus far. Hope this helped. I used this for countless Hrs. during the summer months
Answer: The racks are holding up well; after washing for the first time I sprayed olive oil on the racks.
Answer: I've only used my Gourmia a few days but have not noticed any changes in the racks.
Q:
is the heating element at top or bottom..?
Answer: I believe it's on the top, it was a gift for my son to make jerky. He really loves it, haven't heard any complaints yet, he's used it for about two years
Answer: I'm almost certain it's at the back with the fan...it works great no problems in 1.5 year
Answer: Fan is in back
Q:
Can i dehydrate milk with this? do i need speacial tray inlays, or will parchment paper work?
Answer: You would have to have special trays as milk is a total liquid.
Q:
Can you turn the fan off and not use it? I would like to use it for making tempeh.
Answer: It's really just a fan. You could stick a kebob skewer or something in the fan to stop it from turning if you wanted to and I imagine it would work fine. It does have a temp sensor so I suppose the heating element would turn off nd and on as the temperature warranted.
Answer: Use your oven. Tempeh only needs about 12 hrs above 70 degrees, and then it heats itself.oven with light and a digital probe thermometer will do it.
Answer: No. I never had a need to turn it off and I see no button to turn fan off.
Answer: I don't know if you can turn the fan off. I've never tried
Answer: This was a gift so I have no experience with it. Sorry.
Answer: No.
Q:
Does anyone know how many pounds of food can be dehydrated at once? Looking for capacity comparison to another machine. Thanks!!

Answer: 2.225 cubic square feet
Answer: 17.25" High, 13.5" Wide and 17.75" Deep
Q:
what shelves made of?
Answer: just as all dehydrators, the shelves ar plastic and dish washer safe..
Answer: This dehydrator has plastic trays but there are other dehydrators that use metal trays.
Answer: Plastic
Answer: Plastic
Q:
does the bottom 2 racks work for you in the 9 tray option? it seems like the temp aint getting hot enough.
Answer: I haven't used the bottom racks, but you may have to move them up as the top ones get done. It will most likely take a higher temp and longer dry time if all racks are being used at once. Also, I try not to over load the trays.
Q:
how long to dry tomatoes?
Answer: Sorry, dont know. Repeated trials with meat, vegetables, and fruit all yielded inconsistent, inedible products. Gave up. Sitting in our basement, unused.
Q:
what's the temp range?
Answer: 98 to 158
Q:
Are the trays dishwasher safe? Does the machine have an auto off timer where once they timer goes off it shuts off the machine to prevent over drying?
Answer: No, do not put trays in dishwasher! But, they are so easy to clean in the sink, even after making jerky! There is a timer and it does automatically turn off at the end of the cycle! Works great! We use it all the time!
Answer: To date, I have only hand washed the trays; thus, I have no experience putting them in the dishwasher. As for the timer, yes it turns off the heating element when the time is done.
Answer: The trays are dish washer safe, I believe once it finishes set time it does shut off automatically.
Answer: I haven't put my trays in dishwasher. The machine does shut off automatically at the end of the set time.
Answer: Top shelf of dishwasher is ok, wouldn't put them close to heating element. Yes, it turns off when set time runs out.
Q:
Does the gfd1650b and the same features at the 1950?
Answer: The features are the same. The difference is the size.
Answer: Yes, the only difference is size.
Answer: yes
Q:
What's the max temperature will it get to?
Answer: 158 degrees F. Not sure what the ma length of time you can set it to is though. I am guessing many hours. How hot you need to get it to restore tapes?? Not my area of expertise.
Answer: 158 degrees F.
Answer: Looks like 158F
Q:
How long can the unit be set to run? I am aware of the 19 Hr timer limit but I would like to run the unit for 3 weeks consecutively.
Answer: The unit will shut off after 19 hours unless you reset the timer before the timer runs out. We do this to run the unit for several days straight, as you are suggesting that you want to do as well. Hope that helps.
Answer: I've ran it for 4 days with no problem.
Answer: 99 hrs Olny
Q:
Is it suitable to use in Hong Kong?
Answer: I don't see why not. As long as you have a proper travel converter it should be ok
Q:
It says it comes with two sheets. One solid n one mesh. But holds up to 8. Does this mean id have to buy more sheets
Q:
Does packaging during shipment reveal contents?
Answer: Like all Amazon store products. This came in its Handy Dandy Amazon box. The only issue I had with it was that the box was tight around the box, and we had to work at it to get it out of the Amazon box. So NO, Being safely in it's Amazon box did NOT reveal the contents of the package when shipping.
Answer: No, it comes in a brown shipping box, when you open it, it’s inside it’s own manufactured box
Answer: Absolutely so if you let this ad a gift you must ask for it to be boxed inside an Amazon box.
Q:
Do trays have hole in middle
Answer: The trays are not solid sheets. They're open weave plastic. Not sure what a "hole in the middle" would even mean. For sticking your finger through?
Answer: No they do not.
Answer: No, they don't.
Answer: They are lattice.
Q:
Is there a light inside?
Answer: No light
Answer: No
Q:
What type of plastic are trays made of?
Answer: They are a hard plastic. Very easy to clean. I use mine to dry fruit and make treats for my dogs. I like it.
Product reviews of Gourmia GFD1950 Premium Electric Food Dehydrator Machine - Digital Timer and Temperature Control - 9 Drying Trays - Perfect for Beef Jerky, Herbs, Fruit Leather - BPA Free - Black
Kelly S : A great idea to use when I have bought too much fruit
Takes longer than the books suggest because of the nine trays. It is definitely worth it and easy to clean
Aaron S. : I didn’t return it, so.....
Love this thing. I dehydrate all our fruits left over from our farmers markets. I’m dehydrators run 24/7. I usually pick up the old school ones from goodwill, which are all still running great, but I wanted something bigger and not round. I’m use to paying $5 for my dehydrators because I’m a cheap ass, but thought I would treat myself to a new one. I did my research and choose this one. It’s twice as fast as the 8 other ones I have and I don’t have to rotate trays halfway thru. It seems to hold alittle more then my round ones. I don’t really care for the hard plastic trays because things have a tendency to get stuck and it’s hard to get the small pieces off so I ended up with a lot of smaller ripped Apple circles verses the flexiable plastic that you can bend to pop pieces off. So I still use my other dehydrators for the sticker fruits. It is a big box on your counter, so it’s not a space saver. It’s not like you can stick it in a corner and it will blend in. Overall I’m happy with it but I haven’t ran it long enough to know how durable it will be. My goodwill ones are all over 5-6 years old and are running strong so I’m curious to see if this “new” technology will last just as long
Susan Garcia : A dehydrator, a must have!!!!
Because the trays are rectangle they hold so much more than a round one does. The air blows from the back of the unit. This is very good, you dont have to worry about anything falling or dripping down to the motor. I liked it so well, I ordered a second one for my mom. We are dehydrating everything we can. We have even used it to make Jerky. When you live alone, there is a certain amount of groceries that get thrown away from spoilage. Not with a dehydtator. When we make our meals, we throw in dehydrated veggies and let them rehydrate as they cook. No waist. Great for emergencies too.
susanMA : Definitely recommend
This is a great dehydrator. We use ours all the time for making beef jerkey. We order 1/2 a cow and enjoy it all yr long
eg : Able to do volume
I'm glad I got this one with 9 drying trays. Drying zucchini for flour. Takes 4 to make a cup so I needed to do volume. To it off my zuks are the size of a woman's firearm with all the rain we are getting.
Cozmickid80 : Don't put ravioli in this!
I'm a dude that's been known to survive on cans of ravioli and a fork. It's not that I don't have taste; or appreciate refinement, but I just don't think of such things. My brain is focused elsewhere, on more interesting, complicated things, if you get my meaning.
But the wife mentioned these contraptions a few times, so I researched them before eventually settling on this one. She was surprised. I think she is under the impression that I don't listen because my brain is so busy. She is wrong, of course.
This worked perfectly. Not only did she enjoy the product as advertised, but I got to be right AND eat good food. Even if it isn't ravioli.
-B- : Best Machine Ever
I could literally leave a 22 page review but I don't have the time.
I honestly love this machine, making beef jerky has become my new passion.
this machine paired with a food saver is an absolute game changer.
take your time, be patient, read a million different recipes and reviews, BUT!! always make sure what your making is properly cooked.
Good Luck !!
Patty : I use for cookies
Love the easy of it. Super light and can be moved anywhere. I used for my sugar cookies to let the royal icing to dry. Works great!
Jenny : Perfect!
I use this to make crackers, dry herbs and dry fruit. No issues so far that I’ve seen others having. Love it and love that it’s quiet!
Chris L. : Good for making dried fruits
I bought this one as a gift for my mom and she loves it. I am kind a worried about her electric bill since she is drying fruits and sweet potato every day
SGZ : TOTALLY STOPPED WORKING AFTER 2 TIMES OF USE!
Plug unplug in different area none of the button working anymore !? Already threw away all the boxes. Been Amazon customer for years this is the first time I’m NOT satisfied! I need to pay shipping+looking huge box for this if I want to return or replace it???

Paul : Tasty Dried Fruit!
I bought some fruit on sale and barrowed a friend's vertical stacker dehydrator. No temp control, and you had to the move the trays around. I did some shopping and landed on this one. Temp control, a timer, and no tray rotation required. I've run it about 10 times so far, and it has done the job every time.
Otherwise, if you're going to start dehydrating a lot, you HAVE to cut everything a similar thickness. And you have to deal with the seeds/cores quickly. I got an apple corer and a nice mandolin slicer. Just pay attention when you're slicing.....
OK, have fun!
Jay : falls apart easily
over a year of use the plastic housing has started to crumble into a fine almost grit. the plastic rubs off with your fingers in fine particles that can get in your food. the timer and temp buttons trigger the on/off button almost half the time.
if you intend it for food use then go for a metal/glass more quality brand.
M. McDermott : Perfect machine!
Best ever! I love this machine!! Makes the absolute best fruits and veggies... I eat raw and this machine does such a nice job. Low temps are perfect. Easy to change the temps and times... the only wish is that the buzzer for the timer could be lower in sound or wish there was an option to not have it buzz. it is loud. But I love my gourmia!!! They provide one perforated mat for things that could fall through the open shelves and i wish it came with more than one... but none of the dehydrators do... so it’s hard for me to complain... i love it! Thank you!
Azzy's Design Works : Cheap feeling, but works
We bought this to dry 3d printing materials. If you use just one 1 of the shelves, you can fit 5-6 1kg rolls with room for air to move on all sides.
Cheap, but it works. This thing is no Excalibur. Door slides up, doesn't swing. So that might change how you need to use it, if you can (ie, shelf or cabinet in the way). Time will tell if the heater, timer or motor goes. Not much to these. Oh, one thing to mention. its LOUD AS F... WHEN IT BEEPS. It beeps with each button press (no setting memory) and you need to set the time and temp each run.
Patty : I use for cookies
Love the easy of it. Super light and can be moved anywhere. I used for my sugar cookies to let the royal icing to dry. Works great!
lakeiba : A Must HAVE
I am a cookie decorator and this dehydrator is a life saver. I love that is has a low temp setting of 95 and can be set for as low as 30 minutes. If you need one this is a plus
Melissa Mitchell : Easy to use
This is easy to use, the only reason I didn't 5 star it was because as a newbie to dehydrating, I couldn't easily find recipes for use with this machine, or for the odd temperatures this machine has. I would have loved for the company to have a few easy recipes (complete with cook temps and times) for a beginner to learn from. I would probably use this item more if I was more confident with what I was doing.
sdarden75 : Only lasted 3 months
Purchased May 9th. Stopped working Aug. 15th. ☹
Update: Manufacturer customer service was great. Replaced immediately. Hopefully it will last longer than 3 months the second time around.
lprdshrk : Works okay. Don't use recipe book
I'm giving this a 3 because I'm not "sold" on it yet. The first thing I tried was the sweet potatoes from the recipe book. The book calls for 1/4-inch slices for 11 hours. I did that and they were still raw after 11 hours. So, I upped the temp and ran another 8 hours. Still not crunchy as described in the book, so I put them in the oven for 20 minutes. That made them crunchy, but I almost broke my teeth trying to eat them. My dogs even had a hard time. Next time I will slice them thinner. I tried the beef jerky, my slices were quite thin, not the 1/4-inc in the recipe book. After 4 hours they were crispy, but then you have to put them in the oven for 10 minutes. That melted all the fat, but turned them in more of a chip, they just crumble. I can make better beef jerky in the oven using skewers and the oven racks. I then tried the apple chips and those turned out slightly chewy, but okay. I think the recipe book is totally off. They need to re-write and test the recipes out first. The machine itself is quite large and with 5 trays you should be able to load up lots of fruits and veggies. The trays are kind of difficult to clean because each cross piece is tapered. Maybe a brush would work better. The unit is fairly quiet although the fan sounds like it is slightly off balance or maybe the bearings are bad. The digital keypad seems okay and the timer is nice. It shuts off automatically with a beeping noise for a few seconds. I may update this after I experiment with more foods. Customer service is a 5. They are on top of it!
Denise and Peter L : Used and recommended for drying 3D filaments.
For 3d printers, the dirty little secret is that most filaments are hygroscopic, that is they absorb water from the atmosphere and this causes problems when printing. One part of dealing with this is to have a controllable low-temp oven to gently dry out the filament without getting it hot enough to soften and fuse together into an unusable mass. (Ask me how I know this) This unit is large enough to hold multiple rolls at once, has digital controls for heat and for run time. After using for a couple of months now I'm very happy with it's performance and ease of use.
JJohnson : 7# Cooked at once
We have had a few dehydrators in the past. This one is by far the best. It has 9 trays (so more space), quiet, and is really easy to clean. The intake fan is in the back and the vent on top. We were able to make 7 pounds of beef and turkey jerky at once which is twice the amount of normal dehydrators. Also it was really quiet compared to our past dehydrators. Great product and I highly recommend it.
Thea D. Tingle : Dehydrator
This dehydrator is great. I did chicken for my puppies and in 12 hrs it’s better and cheaper then u buy. I have also done sweet potatoes and apples for them as well. All my herbs from herb garden. I reviewed others prices, ratings and what I was going to try to accomplish with it and boy have I been one happy dehydrator. It’s better than I expected and does awesome job, easy to clean care for. I’ve had it for almost a year and I use weekly. It’s a little beast of a dehydrator.
Kelly Davis : Efficient and easy to use
Used this to dehydrate apricots from the 7 trees I have. So easy, so good! Is quick and quiet and doesn’t put off much heat.
Notapiker : No way to dehydrate at 118 degrees.
Works great and easy to use. 4 stars because the temperature setting goes from 113 to 122. 118 would be nice. Apparently anything above 118 is where enzymes are lost. Dehydrating at 113 takes a long time. That 5 extra degrees would help a lot. But I’m stuck at 113 and a longer time. Other than that I like it.
Chris L. : Good for making dried fruits
I bought this one as a gift for my mom and she loves it. I am kind a worried about her electric bill since she is drying fruits and sweet potato every day
Amazon Customer : Broke after 3 months
Stopped working after several months. Will power up for 5 minutes then shut down. Junk!
Chris Mc : Pretty good.
ok, not terribly sturdy built, but hey, you're making' beef jerky. don't forget the sodium if you're looking for longer term shelf life....The 9 tray holds a ton. 6 would be OK also. good, not great product, if ya know what I mean.

Pat D. : I love my Gourmia Dehydrater
I have used this multiple times. It does what it says it will do. I made beef jerky and also dehydrated a lot of fruit and vegetables. My favorites are tomato slices and pineapple. You can get a lot done by filling it. The only problem is that everything tastes so good that it goes fast. I made chicken jerky, too. The chicken jerky dried out too fast and got to hard. I don't recommend doing the chicken jerky.
Tammy Clark : Wonderful dehydrator! Best dehydrator I’ve ever had!
I absolutely love this dehydrator. I have used it several times. I just dried peas in it. I have dried spices, Fruit and several other things. Everything that I have Dried in it has came out perfect. If you are on the fence about buying it, I would say buy it you will not regret it.I’ve tried several before and this one is a keeper. It’s the best one I’ve ever had.
David F. Tagliarini : Perfect for Drying Herbs!
We tried many different techniques for trying herbs but none were as successful as this Food Dehydrator. We grow more basil, oregano, rosemary, parsley, and sage, than we can use so we have to harvest it several times in a growing season. Now instead of losing the harvest, we dry them easily in our dehydrator and have dried herbs to use for cooking that we grew ourselves! This product is easy to use and functions exactly as described.
Amazon Customer : My husband and I live in South Florida and love mangos. We planted nine trees 15 years ago ...
My husband and I live in South Florida and love mangos. We planted nine trees 15 years ago and today they produce hundreds of mango's from June to September. There was no way I could freeze that many, so I decided to buy a dehydrator. There were many to choose from, so I read a few reviews and decided to buy the Gourmia. It works great! It holds nine easy to clean trays. The machine is quiet and I just push one button that automatically runs at the perfect temperature for 10 hours and then shuts off by itself. I put the trays on the top shelf of my dishwasher and they are sparkling. With the see through front sliding door you can watch the process of drying and the fragrance is heavenly. I highly recommend this great dehydrator and plan to try other recipes as soon as the mango season is over. Everyone who tastes the dried mango's LOVES the texture and flavor. The Coastal Breeze newspaper on Marco Island did a story on my dehydrating mango's and used several pictures.

Audra M. Doughty : Sure is a lot of plastic
Very nice looking. But made of mostly plastic. And the sliding door to open doesn’t move smoothly, keeps catching on all the little trays and getting stuck. However, it does dehydrate nicely.

DynamicMenace : *UPDATE* Easy Replacement After the First Didn't Last 90 Days
I'll keep the original below, but once I reached out to customer service, they had me cut the cord and send them a picture, and they sent us a new one right after with no issue. I really appreciate the easy replacement under warranty, and the new one has been working fine since!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Broke after less than 3 months. We used it maybe 4-5 times, then this last time we turned it on, it ran for 5 minutes and shut off. It worked really well before then, and would have been 5 stars.

Had this now for a few days. Made 8 pounds of beef jerky. Great machine easy to clean. Working very well. Great recipe book. Bought extended warranty with product. Hopefully I do not have to use it. Machine is very light and easy to move.
Mercedes : Highly recommended
I was so excited to get this product in to make my dogs some homemade treats and try it out for other things as well. I got it in & started right away making my dogs some chicken jerky & they were not disappointed! They absolutely love them & with the amount of racks on this dehydrator I was able to make enough treats with just one use to last for over a month! I Highly recommend this product it was exactly what I needed to make my dogs so happy
