Answer: At first I thought mine didn't lock as well. But when I pushed down really hard on both front corners and both sides clicked. I was very surprised at how much force it took. Once I figured that out it has worked perfectly.

JRipp : Poor suction. Doesn’t do the job.

Only used a few times and had decent suction power once. The rest it barely takes any air out and takes forever to even get a little. Very unhappy with the item and will likely have to get a better one. I guess you get what you pay for.
