Answer: Mainly produce smoke, but also some heat. If cold smoking, put the tube as far away from food as possible

Shipped in a timely manner. Overall a good purchase at a great value. However, one of the tubes shipped without a bottom which I easily fixed by stuffing some aluminum foil to close the opening. Tubes smoke approximately 5 to 6 hours depending on humidity and airflow. Not quite as easy to ignite as the larger square opening tubes, but definitely not a deal breaker. Two thumbs up.

High Fi : Lots of smoke..Buuuuut.....

The product works well and it definitely adds a lot of smoke to my pellet smoker. The issue is the pellets don't burn the way that they should for actual smoking. They create a lot of tar that has soaked the inside and the lid of my smoker. But to be fair you can taste more smoke on your food when you use it but I would suggest not using one of these for more than 2 hours. When I fill one of these completely up it burns for about 5 1/2 to 6 hours.

Purchased these for that additional smoke in my pellet grill. Works very well and while only using one thus far, I can say they truly add that additional smoke lacking in a pellet grill. Last about 4 hours per filling, so no need to stop, reload and relight. Great product!

Been smoking peppers in the top section of my Pit Boss by placing these on the lower grill section and not even turning on the pellet grill. Getting great smoke flavor and smell in the peppers. Not hard to get started, just use a propane torch.
