Answer: Mainly produce smoke, but also some heat. If cold smoking, put the tube as far away from food as possible

High Fi : Lots of smoke..Buuuuut.....

The product works well and it definitely adds a lot of smoke to my pellet smoker. The issue is the pellets don't burn the way that they should for actual smoking. They create a lot of tar that has soaked the inside and the lid of my smoker. But to be fair you can taste more smoke on your food when you use it but I would suggest not using one of these for more than 2 hours. When I fill one of these completely up it burns for about 5 1/2 to 6 hours.

Works great. Adds a little more smoke flavor that my Traeger kind of lacks. The key to lighting it is standing it on end and lighting the pellets with a propane torch. Then let it born for approximately 5 min, blow it out, then lay it on its side in the grill. A full tube smokes for around 5 hours.

Shipped in a timely manner. Overall a good purchase at a great value. However, one of the tubes shipped without a bottom which I easily fixed by stuffing some aluminum foil to close the opening. Tubes smoke approximately 5 to 6 hours depending on humidity and airflow. Not quite as easy to ignite as the larger square opening tubes, but definitely not a deal breaker. Two thumbs up.
