Style:Ribs

Get the benefits of cooking with high heat without the weight or maintenance of cast iron. The Flame-Friendly series of grilling accessories conduct high, evenly-distributed heat to cook your food, but are lightweight and easy to clean. Friendly, fireproof, and thermal shock resistant up to 700º F (371º C), you can use this rib rack to smoke up to four racks of ribs upright, saving space on the grill. This rack also allows more airflow around your ribs, cooking them more quickly and evenly.

HOW TO USE: Place one rack of ribs upright, wide side up, in each compartment. Place the rack on the grill so that the ribs run parallel to the mounds of embers and between them, cooking with indirect heat.

CARE: Do not use abrasive scrubbers. Use a sponge or plastic scrubber to increase the life of your grilling rack. Dishwasher safe.

WARNING: Rack will get very hot. Use heat safe gloves when handling. Do not use on infrared grills.

CAUTION: Avoid using metal tongs and spatulas with non-stick glazed products as they may mark the surface.

Answer: This item is intended for a smaller foul such as a standard 6 lb chicken. Will this fit in a Hamilton Beach 6 quart oval slow cooker?

Answer: It does not have a non-stick coating. It is purely gloss ceramic. Use oil as this pan is not non-stick.

Will this hold four full racks of ribs and remain sturdy?

Answer: It will hold them, but the ribs will lean against each other. I bought two and used that for full racks.

Answer: It is very sturdy, your issue may be that the ribs will droop over as they cook because it is not that wide. I cut the racks in half and do two racks at a time. If you want to do four racks at a time and your smoker is wide enough I would recommend two racks.

Answer: It is the sturdiest nice thick ceramic... however given the width im not sure its the best choice for full racks, but it will probably work. I typically cook 4 1/2 racks.

This was packaged, with a large chip broken off of the inside, top middle. Broken part not in packaging, shipping was perfect and clean.

Seems sturdy enough otherwise. 10 1/2 by 7 1/2 cooking area, it is like a dinner plate, pretty much, for light duty cooking. High sides. Handles are just right for oven mitt use. Broken area looks like this is a NORMAL CERAMIC PRODUCT, with a very light glaze painted over it. I might choose a cast iron version.

Paul D. : Ceramic pan for the grill, works very well.

This ceramic pan is very useful for cooking things on the grill that will break up if cooked directly, such as fish fillets. It's also good for a roasting a small turkey breast, veggies and other stuff on a gas grill. I haven't tried it in the oven. I recommend that you wipe some oil on the pan and place it on the grill to preheat and place the food in the hot pan. Let the pan cool before cleaning it, and don't worry if doesn't come completely clean.

This rib rack is the best one I have had and I BBQ a lot. I have used it several times and it holds the meatiest baby backs and other ribs, Just cut a full rack in half and place in the slots. The rib rack is held securally; no need to flip or turn. I spray the rib holder with non-stick spray and when the cooking is done, I just put it in the dishwasher and it cleaned up nicely. This works far better than the expensive stainless steel Weber rack I just threw away.

You actually need 2 of them to hold your ribs straight. I have one and the ribs just flop over on both ends. They seem to be well made but should be sold in pairs.

This rib rack was a great alternative to my old metal one. No assembly and easy to clean. I wish the slots were a little bit wider. The last ribs I cooked were just a little too thick to slide comfortably into the slots. Otherwise, great rib rack

Water Monkey : Great for small niche of items to cook

This pan is smaller than I expected, but decent for grilling about a half a dozed zucchini spears. The pan is made of ceramic and has small grill ridges running diagonally through the pan. It is lightweight compared to cast iron, which made be a plus for some.

I found this pan good for items that do not have a lot of fat. Veggies, fish, small chicken tenders work well. The ceramic shields many of the smaller items from the direct flame to help keep them moist. For higher fat items like burgers, they will end up swimming in their own grease.

I find I would end up using this pan for a select niche of items I might grill. For veggies, foil wrapping may still work better. Also, being ceramic I am not sure I want to take this camping, where it might break.

I cooked four racks of baby backs yesterday. The slots were easily big enough four three of the four but I was able to get the fourth in too. No sticking on removal and easy to clean. I took the suggestion and bought two of them. They worked great holding the ribs straight and separated. Made it through the dishwasher with no problems.

The Charcoal Companion Flame Friendly Indoor/Outdoor Grill/Bake Pan comes in the right size (measures 8"W x 11"L x 1.5"H) which fits well on the BBQ grill top and oven. This is better than my other 20" x 11" cast iron griddle which was much heavier and harder to clean. The bottom of this grill / pan pan is coated with ceramic which is flame resistant and conducts heats well. I used the pan to grill vegetables and Korean spicy pork on my BBQ grill. They all turned out perfect and juicy. The pan is also easy to clean and is dishwasher safe.

Highly recommended as a BBQ / baking companion utensil.

Used for the first time. Sprayed with oil added salmon fillets checked after a couple of minutes and they were stuck like glue. Pretty much ruined them trying to remove them. It may be that the dish needed to be heated before adding food but there was no information on the packaging to support that.
