Answer: Hello as I usually fish freshwater I don't see where you would have any problem using this reel for Inland saltwater fishing I would just clean the real when you're done for the day these are great reels I have not had a problem with mine at all set the drag to your preference and enjoy it

Answer: I purchased this reel in early April it broke the second time I used it. I emailed the seller and he said to contact manfacturer. I did and have not heard back after a couple of months. I would not purchase this item!

can this reel use 25# line test?

Answer: I Personally use this type of reel for trout, bluegill, bass, and crappie. I use 2lb test on light and ultralight st croix and use the size 25. Works great. If you're gonna go that heavy line I would use a bigger size

Answer: Probably can. Really to small to do that kind of fishing. I have 15lb. on my reel which is really kind of over kill.

Very nice reel. I've used President reels for about 20 years and the new XT version is perfect. Lightweight and very smooth. This is a great reel in this price range. I expect this reel to last as long as all my other Pflueger President's.

Trent Rissover : Not the quality Pflueger WAS known for

This was given to me for Christmas 2020 as it was on my Amazon wishlist. I opened the box and gave it a spin and man is it firm and gear-y. It squeaked so loud that it sounded like it was shipped out completely without lubrication. I contacted Pflueger customer service (Pure Fishing actually) and to their credit they called me and had me send it out to their service department and were nice and helpful on the phone. I got it back and it’s quieter but still firm and not what I’d expect from an upgrade to the famed President. My first President a decade ago was butter smooth and changed my whole view on what a reel could be; this is just not like that, and neither have my last couple Pflueger experiences been (a returned Supreme XT that was similarly rough and a regular President that works fine but feels gear-y). I know that as long as the drag works a reel will catch fish, but I just want to know where the quality has gone.
