Is it smooth on the retrieve? after some time of use?

Answer: It's decently smooth on the retrieve, it casts well and nothing about this reel indicates that it costs around $50

Anyone bought the 5000 size of this reel? The size chart has size 5000 but it seems to be unavailable at present?

What is the length of the reel, front to back (inches)? I bought a very light, 4'6" rod. I am looking for something compact such as the shimano Siena

Answer: China. This reel is a smooth operating reel. I have used it many times with no issues. It has a very smooth drag. I don’t know how long it will last but for now I’m very satisfied.

Answer: Definitely no. Thinner line like 8lb line can also be applied to the reel.

Answer: No it's not the capacity or the minimum capacity that will hold but when it comes to open face reels you do not want to fill them up past the minimum capacity cuz if you put too much line on Gable tangle when you try to cast them

What's the difference between their Alien and Bluemagic besides the reel body material?

Answer: Most features of the two reels are the same but the rotor and body of ALIEN reel are all carbon fiber so it is super lightweight, meanwhile the body of BlueMagic is aluminum and its rotor is still carbon fiber, it is a combination of durability and lightweight. In addition, the max drag of the BlueMagic spin reel is larger than ALIEN reel; and the BlueMagic reel will have size 5000 available soon.

Answer: The reel is advertised as Carbon body(ALIEN), not carbon fiber. The Alien is too heavy for carbon fiber. Remember graphite is carbon. Perhaps there is a small amount of fiber in it but I doubt it

Answer: I think they only differ in body material, one carbon and the other one aluminum. Oh yes they have different outlooks and I prefer the look of my bluemagic!

Is it too much for 12lb braided line?

Answer: The reel won't be too much for 12lb braided line. We even applied 8lb line on the reel.

Answer: It will probably handle 12lb braid .I have my reel on a 5' rod and 6lb mono its a good reel I havent had any issues

I would like to have extra spools for alien 4000, how much for two spools?

Answer: Hi Mr/Ms, we do not have extra spools for the ALIEN 4000 at present, but we will make some in July and kindly please contact us at that time via messages in your order. *^^*

can 1000 use for ice fishing ?

Answer: Yes, the ALIEN 1000 can be used for ice fishing. It is super lightweight and only 6.66 oz. And it is a dedicated finesse model. Its suggested mono is 2-4lb and suggested braid is 4-8lb which also suits for ice fishing.

Answer: The 1000 would be a good size for ice fishing. You could even go up to the 2000. I'd probably choose the 2000 just for more liner taken up with each spin of the handle

Will spare parts be available for the reels if some part like srping is lost or broken?

Answer: Yes, we can provide spare parts for free if that case happens, and there is a parts diagram on the reel package for you to refer to.

Can this be used for saltwater fishing?

Answer: Yes, remember to rinse it with freshwater after every use.

Answer: Yes, all the accessories of the reel including the bearings, the drag washers, main shaft, gears, screws are corrosion resistant, and for the longevity of the reel we suggest rinse the reel with fresh water after each time of use in saltwater.

Reel has been amazing. For thebpricepoint it is hard to beat. Took it out and was sight casting some 30nin Redfish and it did amazing, then turned around and took it to catch some largemouth bass. Held up great.

I have had the ALIEN 3000 for a tad over 2 months. I have had it on the water 6-7 times. I am truly impressed! Some of my friends refer to me as a fish head. Maybe I am, love to fish. Currently have 13 Weapons of Bass Destruction. I put the Alien on a Fenwick HMG Med light rod, a very good match up. I have not one thing I would change on the ALIEN. It is lightweight and extremely strong. The drag system is right on the money. The use of carbon fiber was a surprize in a reel at this price range. I do not think I will be spending $100 or more on reels in the future. Matter of fact if this reel had the name Daiwa, Shimano, Lews, or Garcia it would sell for $100 or more. No question!! Some of these small companies from China are offering top quality products at a working man's budget. This is the 3ed or 4th item I have gotten from BASSDASH it will not be the last. Caught my personal best Bass at 8.6 lb with their panfish swimbait. Hope they come out with some nice rods soon. Anyway, if your looking for a new reel give this one a try, with Amazon if your not happy returns are easy. Of course if you get the ALIEN, who knows you could get contacted by the Mothership! TIGHT LINES!!

This reel is duel BB supported pinion and is truly 6.8 oz for 2000 size. Even line lay with thin washer added. Smooth spinning as any brand name same price range.

Balance and feel are good. Retrieve is smooth thought the bail kick can be jerky at times. Nice speed and weight. It’s a keeper, if the bail kick didn’t catch it would be rated higher but I’m picky.

Great reel! I got the Alien 2000 yesterday and took it out on the lake this morning. I was lucky enough to get into some very nice Cutthroats, and I was amazed at how well this reel fought them in.

The reel is very smooth, very attractive, and the drag is accurate and smooth. The EVA on the handle feels premium, too. I've bought reels for $20 more than this that didn't work half as well.

This is a great Reel, and I won't hesitate to buy another (3000 next time) for some other fishing I do. These are fantastic!

I got this 2 years ago. And it has caught many many fish. The drag has held up to multiple snags and will pull in logs. The fit and finish has held up. And it still fishes very well. This is the best spinning reel I have ever owned! The quality far surpasses any other spinning reel I have ever used. The action is smooth, the bail works like a dream, and and the weight is like a feather. This reel also has no issue hauling in fish of multiple sizes. As you can see it handles anything from a crappie, to a 2lb sand bass, all the way up to 5 lb catfish. I reccomend this reel to anyone.

when you have a fish or tension on the line it binds somewhere in the reel. making it much harder to reel. not impossible but hard. otherwise its fine the drag is good the retrieve is fine unless there is tension. the bail flips and recovers fine. next time i will get another shimano though.

Purchased the Blue Magic 5000 for surf fishing. After tearing it down and lubing with a high quality synthetic grease I headed out to the surf. Cast great. Drag is OK.
Then I dropped it and it was completely submerged for a few seconds. Rinsed it off with fresh water. And it is still working just fine.
I’ve had reels costing 3x as much lock up after being exposed to saltwater.
Also, the frame is alloy and doesn’t flex.(rotor is carbon)

*Initial impression review* I bought the 4000 series primarily as a bait rod for surf fishing. It is more like a 3000 series when compared to other brands. See the picture when compared to a Penn Pursuit 4000 II. Overall the reel is OK. I ended up pairing it with 20lb braid and a cheap Berkley AMP medium action rod and caught several blue fish, ladyfish, and a speckled trout on my latest trip to Florida. The drag seemed to work good but I felt like the handle started to get stuck after a few days in the sand and salt. I did wash it down with fresh water after each use and I will be breaking it down for a good cleaning and inspection this week. For the money, I would probably look at the Penn Fierce II.
