Questions about Pflueger Supreme Spinning Reel

How many bearings does it have and what's the max drag weight ?

Answer: It has 8 ball bearings, I am not quite sure what you mean by drag weight. The max line size listed on the reel is 200 yards of 20 lb line! I currently have 10 lb test braided line and it has a tensile strength much higher than 10 lbs! I have never broken this line on max drag pulling straight back! It will still lose line barely! Never pull back bending a rod trying to loosen from a snag, it will eventually break always pull straight back with the rod tip pointed towards the snag!

what size is this reel 25,30,35 or 40?

Answer: My model is the Supra 40! It is a very nice reel with 8 ball bearings and will handle heavier line for larger fish. Very smooth when reeling! I love Pflueger reels!

Answer: no but great reel for the money so buy one love it

Can The Pflueger Supreme be used as a saltwater reel?

Answer: The Supreme is not designed for salt water use. I have used mine in salt water a few times but immediately rinse in fresh water when done fishing. After I get home I open the reel and grease and oil everything. There are similar quality reels designed for saltwater from Penn (Battle II) and Diawa (Nasci). These reels also work fine in fresh water.

Answer: Since I have never fished in saltwater I am unsure! I cannot imagine that it would be harmful to the reel as long as you rinse it well with fresh water after!

Answer: I have not used it for Salt Water but the Manufacturer says that it can be used/

HOLDS ON MUCH LINE.DO YOU PUT 300 YRDS OF BRAID ON?PFLUEGER THINKS YOU SHOULD.HAD TO BACK FILL MINE TO PROPERLY CAST THE 125 YRD AMOUNT OF LINE MY SPIDER WIRE COMES INI.ITS MY ONLY COMPLAINT.REMINDS ME OF OLD TECH 25 YEARS AGO.

I ordered this for my son's 10th birthday present. Previously he'd been using cheap combos from the local big box store but had decided after a few fish he wanted to up his game. I've never had an issue with a reel from Pflueger and this one is no different. Throwing the bail is buttery smooth, larger spool gives great casts even with light weight poppers, and once you start reeling, it’s the best spinning reel I’ve ever used.
