how well does it cast, can it handle bombing spoons upstream for creek smallies??

Answer: The CL25 Cast very nicely with a 1/4 - 1/2 weight spoon, lure, weight. Here is the CL25 from penfishingrods.com catching beautiful rainbow trout. Answer: I only use mine for ice fishing drops straight down the down I never cast mine but I would say it would cast the way it releases very free releasing

Do they make a left handed version of this reel? I would love to get a left handed version.

Answer: both cl20 and cl25 have left hand version. You can find them in chinese online shopping sites but not sure if there are any in us

does the CL25 Ming Yang have level wind?

Answer: The cl25 has level wind and the cl20 does not.

Answer: If your referring to the part that moves from side to side that spools the line evenly across, yes it does and works good keeping the line level across the spool.

Answer: I don't know what level wind is but they look like nice reels haven't used them yet but I like everything about them

Will this reel be good for panfish and throwing light lures?

Answer: yes it is a good reel for pan fish, i use it for crappie. not so much for light lures, i guess all depends on how light and your experience in casting these kind of open face reels, i have thrown a spinner bait with it

Answer: These reels are great for any type of tackle, both light & heavy. I bought mine from penfishingrods .com because they come with 2 reel footings & an easy 2 screw disconnect. Their footings fit a mini pen fishing rod, all the way to a standard size rod. They even have the Extreme bait cster, but it doesn't have a levelwind.

Great reel easy to use. Put on a 5' 6'' or 6'' medium action rod for a perfect rod reel combo for bass walleye crappie. Not really an ice fishing reel.

The spool release button does not always disengage the spool. Sometimes I have to try several times before it fully disengages. Otherwise, this is one of my favorite reels. I absolutely love it and plan to buy more.

Hubschrauber : Has Level-Wind, but May Not Be the Same Color as the Listing Pictures

Would have given 5 stars but the one I received is not as pictured. The sides are black instead of raw aluminum color. The color substitution isn't really any kind of functional issue but I made this purchase based partly on how the item looked in the listing and that takes it down a notch from 100%. Actually I'm only posting this review to give other potential viewers a heads up that the reel they get may not be as pictured. Also attaching a picture taken from an angle that makes it easier to see that there is a level-wind mechanism.
