Is that utility knife good for scaling fish?

Answer: This knife set couldn’t even puncture the skin of a trout they were so dull so just keep in mind you’ll have to sharpen all the knives in order to even use them. But I guess to answer your question, you could use the “bait knife” the small serrated knife to scale the fish.

The photo description says that it has a glove, but upon arrival, there is NO glove. Did anyone receive a glove?

I am very well pleased with this inexpensive fish fillet set. I have cleaned quite a few salt water trout, and have carried this out in the boat with me in the salt water and I have yet to have to sharpen any of the knives. No rust spots have started either. The small cutting board is great for bait fish. I actually bought a second set for my other boat.

Used to clean the fish then rinsed it, left it air dry. Rust spots showed up next day. The knife is just OK to filet the fish. I did not sharpen it as I assume it's ready to use as new.

Package is nice to maintain knife edge. Very nice looking and including the steel is fantastic. I’ll take a sharp knife over electric every time. Overall did not pay top shelf but I think value for the money spent is very good. A little more robust case would be an improvement. I’m introducing the steel and old school sharpening technique, best of all when the grid goes down he will still be able to fish and fillet when all the cordless knives take a quit. Lol shoal21

I am happy with the knife with the serrated blade. The other 2 filet knifes lost their edge very fast. They were used on Red Fish which is a tough fish, but I am already in need of a new filet knife. I have resharpened the blades but they make it through half a fish before they are worn out.
