Questions about LEM Products #1393 MaxVac 250 Vacuum Sealer
Q:
where is this product manufactured?
Answer: LEM Products is based in Ohio.
Q:
Can it seal wider bags than the heat bars by making 2 passes?
Answer: Yes it can. You might have to pull vacuum from a corner though. Bags are cheap, experiment a little.
Q:
The product description says "Seal up 250+ times without stopping" but the text on the cover indicates a 15 sec break is required. Which is correct?
Answer: You will have some stopping point for the most part when you are sealing. I start with cutout pieces to size wanted then it goes very fast from there.
Answer: 15 second break
Q:
Are the seals/gaskets replaceable?
Answer: Yes
Q:
What is the wattage ? Thank you.
Q:
how close to the edge of the bag does it seal? Foodsaver tends to waste an inch and Weston claims 1/4 inch.
Answer: 1/4” is correct.
Product reviews of LEM Products #1393 MaxVac 250 Vacuum Sealer
wade clark : Excellent! Simple machine that never slows down.
No down side.
CoMama : Don’t waste your money
we’ve owned two Food Saver brand machines, didn’t like them because they won’t seal items with any moisture. We bought the LEM product with high expectations as we pack a lot of fish, meats and sauces. This unit is no better than the Food Saver. In the LEM product description is says no pressing necessary. We tried to package some ham today and when it wouldn’t seal I called customer support and was told I needed to press down on the lid. When that didn’t work, she told me to press harder. Don’t waste your money.
Ryan Longhenry : Initially good, but....
We made some brats last weekend and used the vac sealer and it started acting up. When I push “vac and seal” it would only vac for a short period and then go into the sealing mode long before the air was removed. The only way that I could get it to operate properly was to use the pulse setting for a second and then hit the vac seal button. I used the sealer last spring and never had these issues. It was purchased in February 2021 so I guess that we will see how good the warranty is! Will update
Shawn G. : Okay for home kitchen use.
Works good enough for small batches in you kitchen. Not for heavy use. Seems to seal well.
Jason Lee : Lem max 250
Excellent piece of equipment
Bradley J Long : a good product
it worked very well

Angela40330 : Inferior plastic and counter hog
I have another common branded vacuum sealer that I literally use daily so I was excited about a new one. But as much as I wanted to love this, I just don’t. First, the plastic lever is cheap and about to break off, and I’ve only used it a few times. The unit itself is big and heavy and a counter hog but it does suction really well. But once that piece is broken this is scrap metal.
ReviewToaKill : Not Sealing the Deal
Stuff to know: -It does seem to have a pretty powerful motor, although we are noobs to the Vacuum Sealer world. -This unit seems really large (compared to others I've seen at friends'/family member's homes. Most of the space seems as if it's taken up by the design of the unit. Do the rolls need to exist inside the device itself?? -We tried it on apples first. This didn't work so well, perhaps because of the moisture content. It may have sucked it up into the pump unit. That was likely our own fault. Again, noobs. -It will absolutely seal other types of bags. My husband assassinated about 4 different bags of chips. They were pulverized, but they were sealed. -We were able to seal ziptop bags, but the vacuum part didn't work. This was likely a function of the texture (or lack thereof) of the bag itself. -For items that are mostly liquid, there is a pulse pump feature that you can use and then seal the bag after you vacuum out enough of the air. -Based on conversations with friends/family, this seems to be a pretty standard design. -One reviewer indicated that the plastic safety latch on the left side of the sealing door was broken. Ours was fine, but we will definitely watch for that. It does seem as if it could be easy to break off. -The do include some bags, which is nice, but they are small.
We ended up giving this 3 stars, knocking some off because of the size (it's pretty darn big) and the price. We see other popular (and smaller) units for less.
Jetdoc : Works as expected
Worked great

Greendrgon : Trail and error, little large
Neither one of us has owned a vacuum sealer before so this was an exciting item to get. The machine seems a bit large for a standard kitchen countertop or storage cabinet. Its like an office printer / scanner in size but not as tall. There is a provided insert with basic information on the machine, what button is what , set up etc and a user manual. The extra hot bar and bag roll is in the storage compartment on the machine.
Took us a few attempts to get the bag to form and we had to try it smooth side down VS bumpy side down, we found when using bumpy side down you got the best seal. But it also looked like air wasn’t fully out of the bag near the item (cookie) that was sealed in.
Watched a couple of videos on the manufacturer’s website to make sure we were doing everything as we should be. Next few attempts went well.
So far this is working for us and we like it. I will say it is a bit loud but overall not a bad item and hopefully will last a long time.
