Questions about KUFA Sports 6x14-Inch F13RW X 2
Q:
How much buoyancy does one float provide?
Answer: For one Ø4"x11" float the buoyancy is about 7Lb, For one Ø6"X14" float the buoyancy is about 12Lb.
Answer: I weigh 225 lbs. and one will hold me up. I've tested it in my neighbors swimming pool. I use two of them for my kayak outrigger, would probably hold up 400-500 lbs in the water. Totally safe. I sometimes put my grandkids in the kayak with me and the total weight is 300 plus lbs. No problem, they ride high in the water.
Answer: At least enough to hold up 100 feet of leaded. 3/8 line when used as a crab pot buoy.
Answer: Ok
Answer: 15lbs
Q:
The pictures shows 2. is that 2 floats on a qty:1 order? if i order qty 2 does that mean 4 floats?
Answer: I ordered what was supposed to be two pair also and received two single floats. I called Amazon customer service and they sent another single one. I have spent over 30 minutes on the phone with them and cannot get through to them that it is supposed to be a pair. What is truly frustrating is that I am partially disabled and cannot take the kayak out yet. I have spent over 2k on the kayak and accessories, every cent of that here on Amazon, and it is as dry as the day I bought it. They are also deleting my comments, as I have answered this several times and it keeps going away.
Answer: Yes.that's the way my order was.I ordered gty. 2 and got 4 .just what I needed.
Answer: yes qty of 1 = 2floats
Answer: i am sorry for the confusion . I was ti receive 2 floats only one arrived.
Answer: Yes, one order is for 2pcs.
Answer: Yes. Two per order
Answer: Yes, It is for 2.
Answer: Yes, you will receive four floats with a quantity of two order.
Q:
can anyone tell me how much they weigh. thanks
Answer: Approx 1 1/2 lbs each
Q:
what is the hole ID dimension?
Answer: I shoved 3/4" pvc pipe in there to make an outrigger, it is slightly tight but that is better than loose.
Answer: I think 1 1/4"
Q:
Do the bouys come with a stem to attach the line to?
Answer: No they do not, they are however hollow so I. would just use pvc pipe for the stem and an eye bolt to attach line to.
Answer: No! U can make a stem using pvc
Answer: No just a hole running from one end to the other. Great video's on you-tube on how to correctly tie a crab float. It's easy
Answer: No, they have a hole through them that’s the size of 3/4 pvc so you can string it up that way, I turned these into stabilizers for my kayak.
Answer: There is a pvc pipe in the center of the bouts good quality
Answer: No
Q:
Will these lie horizontally in the water or vertically?
Answer: They will lay horizontally in the water. The entire float is made of the same Styrofoam material with one end tapered and painted red.
Answer: Completely depends on your application. I made stabilizers with these for my kayak, and they lay horizontally on the water. But if you tie weight to one end or the other it will stand vertically in the water if you want it too.
Answer: It will horizon in the water unless you put a weight on the bottom.THANKS!
Answer: I use them horizontally. If you anker them ,they can stand vertical.
Answer: I used them horizontally connected to a PVC rigging to keep kayaks from tipping over.
Answer: They lie horizontally, equal weight on both ends.
Answer: Horizontal
Answer: Yes either way depending on your application or how you want to use them.
Q:
What size should i get to use for a stablizing system on 14ft canoe?
Answer: I would stay with this size they are 6" in diameter and about 14" long. I mounted mine on the center thwart. I used 3/4" pvc to go through the floats you will need to use lubricant as it is a tight fit.
Answer: I use 4 of the 6x14s to stabilize my 18ft canoe
Answer: The ones I got was 8" dia. Works well with a 10' yak. If you can get 10" I think they would be fine. Also depends on your weight
Answer: No clue. But, I would say go with the largest size available especially if you're going to do outriggers. I would think it's better to have a little more than you'd really need than not enough. These are pretty buoyant but I'm not sure how mounting them to your canoe and the lateral force of rocking side to side would affect them. In that case more flotation would probably be better. Good luck!
Answer: I have 2 ea (6 x 14) on both sides of my 12 1/2 ft fishing kayak.
Answer: The big one is better
Q:
My item is indicating that it has been delivered, but I have not received it. Can someone help?
Q:
How long do they last
Answer: Don't know --have not had them long but they work and look good for me.
Answer: After 3 years of regular use crabbing they show no discernable wear. Been happy with them. No issues.
Answer: One season .... If you are careful enough. The coating peels off!
Q:
Is inner hole diameter about 1 inch??!
Answer: It is about 5/8" on the ones I got, I used them with 1/2" rope and worked perfect.
Answer: I do not have it in front of me but yes I'm pretty sure that it is
Q:
Is this actually 2 floats?
Answer: Yes, this listing is for 2 floats.
Answer: Yes, you get 2
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Are they polystyrene or polyurethane foam?
Answer: My guess would be Polystyrene. I just use them for anchor floats (locators) and after a couple of years they still look new.
Answer: Just regular painted foam . DONT BUY THEM !
Answer: I believe they are polyurethane foam but not absolutely sure.
Answer: They’re very dense I would say poly styrene
Q:
What size hole is in the middle?
Answer: I had to return mine....they were less than 3/4 on an inch diameter. Also, the were only 5 1/2 x 13 inches. These do not work for making outriggers. Fine for crab pots though.
Answer: Just over 1 inch in diameter.
Answer: 1.05 inches in diameter.
Answer: 1 inch
Answer: It fits a 3/4” pvc pipe which I think is 7/8” outside diameter.
Answer: About 1"
Answer: one inch
Answer: The inner hole diameter is about 1-1/4"
Answer: I used 3/4"PVC, thru there,
Q:
what is the bouyancy rating of the 6x14 float
Answer: unknown. I used these to build outriggers
Q:
Are they paintable?
Answer: Yes, I used bed liner paint first for grip and durabuilty then painted enamel, Worked great!! I'm using for pontoons/outriggers on my canoe paint has'nt flaked abit!
Answer: I cannot answer from painting experience, but I can say the surface is smooth and looks like it is painted red and white.
Answer: yes, if you use oil based paint.
Q:
What is the hole size on the 5x11?
Answer: It is one inch. A one inch diameter PVC pipe will go thru them, but it is tight sometimes.
Answer: About 1-3/8 inches
Answer: 3/4"
Q:
is item sold as a pair?
Answer: I only got one per order but was charged for two. They only credit you one on a return. So you loose big time.

do these come in a 2 pack?
Answer: Yes they do !!!!
Answer: Yes they do
Q:
Is this a 2 pack?
Answer: Yes it is a two pack. Their service was the best I ever experienced on Amazon.
Answer: yes, they come in a two pack.
Answer: Yes. Nice product.
Answer: Yes
Q:
are these ABS or close cell foam
Answer: Closed foam
Q:
What is the circumference?
Answer: 19”
Q:
are they filled with closed cell foam?
Answer: They're solid foam with a hole running down the middle lengthwise. Not for sure if its closed cell but it doesn't absorb water.
Answer: No, they are made from compression molded PVC. Very tough stuff.
Q:
Does this come in one pair or just one piece?
Answer: One pair.
Q:
is there any quality control at kufa. Ordered 4 and only one was the right size. Does any one care at kufa.
Q:
When you buy the 6 X14 buoy is it a pack of two or are you buying one for the price quoted?
Answer: My 6x14 buoyies came as a pack of 2. I hope this helps.
Answer: Mine came as a two pack for the price quoted. Good quality, looks like they'll last a while.
Answer: I got a pack of two for the price listed. Great deal so I ordered again for another pair.
Answer: It comes in a pack of two.
Answer: It is for 2.
Answer: If I remember correctly, it was for the pair
Answer: its for pak of 2
Answer: 2 per package
Answer: Yes
Q:
everyone has given a different hole size. what is the actual hole size diameter? is it different for the two sizes of floats?
Answer: It is one inch. Sometimes a one inch piece of PVC pipe is tight getting thru them. I have four of them and each one is a tiny bit different in diameter. That is just how they come from the manufacturer. But figure one inch in diameter.
Answer: Different maker have the different hole diameter. our current inventory's hole diameter is 1".
Answer: I was able to use 3/4" pvc through the holes, when I got to the painted side tool a little more push, but fit great, 1/2" pvc had too much play
Q:
What is the diameter of the hole?
Answer: The whole is 1.05" diameter. I have used them for kayak outriggers and I have used 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC with an O.D. of 1.05" and it fits perfectly.
Answer: I have purchased four of these and the diameter varies on each one. It is suppose to be one inch but on a couple of them the hole is actually slightly less than one inch and I had to drill it out a bit to fit my 1 inch pvc pipe through them. Was not to fix however.
Answer: one inch
Q:
I had 2 sets in my cart ready to buy and u uped the price $6.05 for 2 can you honor the price since i had it in my shopping cart and was ready to buy
Answer: LOL, that’s funny. Price change happens all the time. You pay the current price at the time of checkout. No look backs.
Answer: Don't be a cheapskate. You either need them or you don't. ????
Q:
What is the buoyancy weight for one buoy? I.e., how much weight is required to sink one buoy?
Answer: The idea is not to sink it. One hundred feet of leaded line hanging under it to a crab pot will not sink it. This I know. Hope this helps.
Q:
Is the exterior durable, and does the paint flake?
Answer: The surface is durable keep in mind these are high density Styrofoam so although they are durable they will dent if hit hard enough. I haven't had any problems with the paint flaking but I did repaint mine to match my canoe I have used them a lot and don't have any complaints.
Answer: Its extremely durable and the paint doesn't seem to flake, Has a clear coat on it making it waterproof...
Answer: Have not had a problem of flaking after 3 years of crabbing in salt water.
Answer: I have had no problem of any kind. They are very nice products.
Answer: If you are looking for a long term investment, this isn't !

Answer: yes
Q:
what size are the holes in the middle of the floats?
Answer: 3 out of 4 floats that I bought had 1" diameter holes that would pass a 3/4" PVC pipe, but had to ream one out to make work.
Answer: Half inch PVC pipe fits snugly into center holes. OD of pipe is .84 inches
Answer: Not quite one inch diameter. I had to twist and push forcefully to get them to fit over 1" PVC Conduit for kayak arms

Answer: About and inch each one varies slightly
Answer: 3/4 pvc fits snug

Does anybody tried to weigh this item alone without any attach rope? How much does it weigh?
Q:
what is the diameter of the hole?

Would two of the 5 by 11 inch floats on each side of a 10’6” kayak stabilize it enough to stand up and fish out of?
Answer: I have 2 of the 6x14 on each side of my 12' kayak they work great i can stand up and float the river bowfishing
Answer: I also might mention that I use the 14x6 floats on my canoe.
Answer: yes I use these on a 17 foot canoe and I stand very confidently and cast but you need to make sure they are adjusted to be in contact with the water when you stand.
Answer: NO
Q:
Can you cut them with a saw
Answer: It's Styrofoam, yes you can easily cut it with a saw, even with a knife.
Answer: Yes, but use a fine tooth blade to avoid shredding.
Answer: Yes, I even drilled out the centers on mine
Q:
How much buoyancy does one float provide? One answer states 15lbs... This does not seem correct.
Answer: For one Ø4"x11" float the buoyancy is about 7Lb, For one Ø6"X14" float the buoyancy is about 12Lb.
Answer: I don't know the total weight, but two will hold me up and I weigh 225 lbs. that is two floats. Me and my kayak weigh 270 lbs. and they float us just fine.
Answer: I really can't say about buoyancy because I have used these floats for an outrigger system on my kayak. I am very satisfied with their quality and performance. I hope this helps.
Answer: Sorry- do not know. We are using them to keep commercial cast netter a away from our boat lift.
Q:
How many lbs of buoyancy does each of these floats provide?
Answer: I am not positive but I did see a video that claimed 50 lbs per float.
Product reviews of KUFA Sports 6x14-Inch F13RW X 2
Amazon Customer : Great Product
Exactly what I expected, these make excellent kayak outrigger floats.
Derek : Just what I needed for kayak
Great product. Used to make kayak outriggers for my Bali 12 ss. Pvc slid right through the hole. I'm 6"1 and my easily excitable dog is 60lbs and we can both stand in the kayak with confidence while catching fish. I chose the bigger size for extra buoyancy but I'm sure they do add a smidgen of resistance. I don't need to paddle fast while fishing with a dog though.
jesse grizz : great floats for canoe outriggers
I used these floats to build stabilizers' for my canoe, they are the perfect size and 4 of these provide plenty of flotation to stabilize my 17' canoe.
M. Parker : Very Visible
We bought these for our JetSkis. They are so much better when we approach the ropes. They are visible from farther away and no more sucking up the rope!
RR : Perfect
I don't know what the negative reviews are about, mine are great. I'm using them as outriggers, works like a charm.
yuniel : One Star
This was an used product sold as new.
Thomas F. : Did the job.
Served the purpose It was intended for. Perfect.
Ken : Going to be used as outriggers on a kayak.
The center hole is not uniform. A 3/4" piece of PVC got stuck about half way through. I had to work at it to get it the rest of the way. The other 3 I used a 1 1/8" hole saw and a drill bit extension to bore out the hole. Works fine now.
rosshoff : well made

Amazon Customer : Great
Using em to making a floating mojo great
Devin Muhle : Great kayak floats.
I purchased these for kayak outriggers like others and they work great. They are nice and solid. The holes aren’t entirely uniform so I really had to force the pvc through one of the floats. The lengths can also be a little off so if you’re very anal about it, some might be a couple inches longer or shorter than the others.
Mike98042 : Great product. As advertised
Great product. As advertised. The 6X14 size will not go underwater with 200 feet of leaded crab pot line. A much better size than the smaller size floats when using leaded line.
Shambling Strider : Work good, last long time.
They seem durable and look good. I'm using them for high-vis rope floats.
ronald perry : Great strong material
Made boat floats and had great results keeping the small boat stable.

Bought to make a set of outriggers for my canoe so I can take it out on Lake Huron without worring about tipping over when a rogue wave comes.
loretta visconti : Exactly what I ordered
Good.

I set my traps out and these just bob away...gives me more time to operate my icecream truck and clown gig.
peter black : Five Stars
perfect for my harpoons
jesse grizz : great floats for canoe outriggers
I used these floats to build stabilizers' for my canoe, they are the perfect size and 4 of these provide plenty of flotation to stabilize my 17' canoe.
Traci : Sizes are incorrect.
I ordered 4 of these (2 sets) to use for a DIY canoe outrigger. None of the 4 sent are the same size... I haven't found my tape measure, but one definitely seems like 6x14 and the others seem as if they're closer to the 5x11's? Poor production.
CRM : Disappointed.
I've purchased KUFA items before and been happy with them, but these are garbage. One is significantly longer than 11" while the other is shorter than 11". Both are misshapen and feel extremely cheaply made. I'd be surprised if they even float, let alone last a single crab season. These won't be going anywhere near my crab pots. Not worth the risk.
JParsons : Great Quality
I think these have great quality and were as described. Great value too.
Peter : Load of bull, so I bought the pair of ...
Load of bull, so I bought the pair of 6 inch by 14 inches and I only get one of them the right size and the other is not , way smaller.....
ed : Used for crab cages
Durable and look forward for many seasons
Joseph Lee Brady : Five Stars
these are awesome - use them on my canoe for stability
R. Curtiss : Last in Salt Water
These floats are high quality and resistant to chipping and damage.
hotdogandasoda : Deformed. Short and mis-shaped.
***Update; Zaltana replaced the deformed floats that Amazon had picked and sent. The replacements look like the the picture Amazon uses for the ad and are the proper size. Zaltana stepped up immediately and rushed these out to me right away.
Ordered 4 pair, 5 of the 8 items are aggressively mis-shaped. Also, not one of them is more than 12.5" long, advertised at 14".
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious : Wow!
To expensive for what they are quality is poor and way to expensive. Should be $3.99 ea.
Donald R. Clarke : floats
I had ordered 2 sets. One of the sets was shorter than the other. Other than that they were fine.
John Warren : Perfect
Worked perfect
R TIMOTHY KANTOS : Excellent quality.
